    Sunroof Rattles

Join the club, it's a very common problem and without wanting to sound rude, it's been covered in great detail quite a few times on here. Have a search for sunroof and you should find a huge host of info...
  6. No, the Fiat Coupe is crap because it managed to hit pretty much every branch of the ugly tree on the way down. Then the tree fell on it.
  7. The chains usually start making noise quite a long time before the tensioner finally gives up the ghost. The problem is, when it does the chains will skip a tooth or 2 and you'll mangle your valves into your pistons. Which is neither nice or cheap to fix. I'd start saving your pennies and get it done sooner rather than later. Definitely don't go to the stealers to get it done though. Not only will it cost you at least twice the price of anywhere else, you're also likely to end up with something in the wrong way round or missing or not replaced when it should have been  Vince at Stealth Racing is the man when it comes to VR's and he doesn't charge the earth. He'll also do it much quicker than anyone else and tell you exactly what he's done and let you know if anything else needs doing too. They're also based in Northampton, which isn't tooooo much of a mission from where you are.
  8. i think she would have you

    VR6 wont start

If you coil pack and HT leads are in good nick it shouldn't be a problem as they will be properly sealed from moisture.

Jump starting should be ok, just not bump starting...;)
  11. I'm sure he has reasons for having his hair like that. Oh you meant the car... No idea, it looks freakin awful. Maybe you just can't get Corrados in France? I'll have the one in black tho ;) Edit: Oh ok it's an E not F on the plate

Yeah in fairness, most of the mechanical stuff isn't tooooo expensive to replace, but anything that is Corrado specific costs a fortune and is usually prone to breaking  But as Mr. Pelt says () if you're on here then we should be able to help you find the better and cheaper alternative.

    injectors?

Just a couple of suggestions as mine is doing similar things on start up... Is your fuel pump whining? (listen at the back of the car on the driver's side) if it is then you could have clogged fuel filter (probably not been changed since new) and a less than healthy fuel pump. This will be giving you low fuel pressure and could cause crappy starting. I replaced my filter and it was GROSS inside and slightly helped the poor starting. I'm getting the fuel pump changed today (£100ish from the stealer). Your strange sudden surge of revs could be sticky throttle cable, mine is certainly sticking a bit and is going to get replaced when I've got the time. The cable itself isn't too expensive (£5? £10?)
  20. Yeah good point. The thread subject says timing chains (which is right and the aforementioned problem), but the post says timing belt (no such thing on a VR). The aux belt however is much easier to fix :)
  21. It's the chain tensioner that gives up the ghost and will need replacing sooner rather than later. It's not a fun job though as you need to drop the gearbox out to get to all the relevant parts. It's also worth putting a new clutch on as well while you're in there if it hasn't already been done. If you go to somewhere like Stealth Racing they'll charge about £600-£700 inc parts. This is a fairly common problem with VR's so there are loads of posts on here about it as well as a very detailed how-to on the vwvortex forum - http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1264409
