I take it's a vr6 mate? They all sit like that if so. There's two locating holes on the rad support and you can see the shape of the slam panel where the rad is situated under neath it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is excellent advice lads/lasses, giving me plenty of food for thought!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Excellent feedback guys, spot on. I'm not planning on massive mileage per year so would sacrifice a long life span for good performance. Probably the wrong place to post but anyone heard of any meets/ shows this year? Be good to meet up im thinking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Spot on Sean, thanks for that. Any recommendations on brand? I'm thinking middle of the road, maybe 60 a corner?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Right, I'm after a full set of tyres for my VR and went to bathwick tyres the other day and was told that they couldn't get 205/45/15 which is what I have on my speedlines. I was offered 195/45/15 instead at a cost of 43 each fitted. Firstly, has anyone here had the same problem, secondly will 195's fit ok and thirdly I don't really want budget and would be keen for your recommendations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Once o bled these out the brakes were spot on. I'm sure you probably knew this but thought I'd mention it! [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had similar issues on my VR when I swapped all the calipers, discs, pads and fluid change. There are two bleed nipples on the ABS pump and one on the master cylinder too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't help with part numbers I'm afraid mate. I ordered the compensator of Ebay and the rest, excluding the spring, from VW main dealers. (The spring was no longer available). As for fitting, the beam needs to be in place. The hardest part I found was removing the old bolts from the valve. I had to drill them out in the end and, like you said, an angle grinder came in handy too! One of the four brake line unions got seized too which meant a flaring kit was needed to put a new union on. I had the luxury of use of a mates ramp but I expect you could do it in your garage. Hope some of this is of some use!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you done a compression test? I may be way off the mark but thought id mention it. I had a v6 mondeo years ok and something happened to it where the piston rings span in one of the cylinders resulting in no compression. I had to take the spark plugs out, pour a tiny drop of oil in all cylinders to seal the rings again. It fired straight away, all be it a bit smokey for a couple of minutes!

Being a nylock nut it will be tight. Could you use a swan neck ring spanner and an Allen key? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just bought a set of these myself but not fitted them. Is the top nut done up fully? Looks like it's just about on the thread in the pic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As long as there the same tyres on the same axle I don't see that being an issue mate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just ordered myself some AP coilovers and lemforder top mounts. The coilovers came in at £384 inc delivery. Thanks everyone for your recommendation, I can't wait to fit them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cheers wesleyvr6. I think I've decided against the JOMs to be fair! I'm keen for the AP units though. £360 seems a good price too. Just have to decide whether to by new OEM top mounts or poly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cheers guys for the feedback. I'm going to look into some AP units now. Can I use my existing top mounts or should I buy new as well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im after a set of coilovers for my VR and don't have a massive budget and have seen a set of JOM ones on ebay for 230 quid. Has anyone had any experience of these/other brands for similar money? I have standard shocks and springs at the mo and I want it a tad stiffer/lower. Any feedback would be gratefully received, Merry Christmas to you all!!

I know it's a different engine but my ABV VR6 runs at around 98 which is bang in the middle of the gauge. I wired in an override switch for the fan as I like it to be around the 90 mark. As Sean says though, oil temp is critical and I keep my MFA on that all the time, sits at about 108. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
