Really nice work, it just goes to show what can be achieved with some good products and elbow grease. I think the backs suffer because they are made of vinyl and not leather, it just does not stand up to abuse like leather does.

The CF Forza 3 Race League, Final League Standing Pg 1
Yandards replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
It's a pain TBH. You need to go to the Forza Motorsport 3 web homepage, log in and then you can download your video clip (but it's only hosted for 24 hours) Once downloaded you can then do what you like with it. -
I'm going to lock this thread up as the car is now being broken for spares. If the owner wants it re-opened then just drop a Mod a PM.
-
It's going to have to be an OEM fitment for me, that Dutch dubs link looks more pikey than proper. As for the gearspeed issue. I can tell you the speedo drive runs at a standard ratio for all Corrado boxes at 0.591 (13:22) I can also tell you that the MFA/clocks have a speedo drive ratio figure of 3800 (whatever that means). The speedo cable drive signal comes from the fuesbox internal connections after arriving at plug G1 pin 11 and then comes out to the dash clock loom on pin 27. This signal talks directly to the MFA controller with output to the speedometer.

Er, it's been a while since the last post and I guess the poster prior to you was commenting on the for sale thread for this car..

Yes it is hollow but it's the wider diameter that makes it stronger than a thinner solid one.
-
Yes they are stronger, although IIRC the short one is the same and the longer one is a much wider diameter. Cost wise, no more than £50 a side I would say.

What's the SIF? Work related thing for us RAF types, they look after any garages on the unit and rent them out.
-
Get down to the SIF wherever you are based and get your name on the garage rental list. For 5 grand you should really be able to get a 12v VR block rebuilt and turboed, Stealth do some kits now.

Thinking on this a little more it's not been all bad, I have managed to get a brand new early bumper for £70 posted, a genuine new clutch master for £45, new passenger door glass for £35 recently and that's just the stuff I remember. On the opposite end of the scale G60 grille badges seem to hiting in excess of £30 on a regular basis and front fogs and indicators have also got a little silly.
-
Yep that is mental, it's only going to cost you about another £20 for one from the dealer brand new with no discount!
-
Indeed, chat to anyone who was driving when everything used to be either cable operated or even worse the throttle linkage was a series of rods and they will tell you this is nothing new. Few folks I know have said it was never suprising to see a Triumph Herald bombing past you on the outside lane with the engine being thrapped to within an inch of it's life as the rod linkage had gone overcentre and locked the mechanism. At least these days the ECU will cut the fuel at the rev limit..

Shamlessly stolen from Sniff Petrol..

Nice work Dave, I suspect there might be a market for some more of those bushes! You just need the plastic wiper motor cover from a Passat to finish it all off! Just visible on this photo below, it does rub a little on the underside of the bonnet but only very lightly and it does tidy that part of the engine bay up a treat. Part number is 3A2 955 128 and is less than a tenner from the stealers.

Right, belt collected this morning and fitted, nice and tight now so that's good and not too much of a pain to replace it when it needs doing. So then it was fire it all up and back it out onto the drive for set-up. No major issues aside from the radiator needs replacing, it was a second hand one) and a couple of weeps of fluid from the coolant temp sensors on the side of the head. Proceded to get it all up to temp and then onto timing set-up and CO mixture adjustment, all done and dusted with ease and the timing is now bang on 6 deg BTDC at 2250 rpm, idle is around 800 rpm and CO is currently sitting a little high in setup mode (ok for an MOT though) but this will need tweaking with a better bit of measuring kit. The decided to have a compression check to confirm all the cylinders are healthy, plugs were very sooty (not suprising given I have had to tweak the mixture quite a bit and the timing was way off) so they were cleaned up. Compression is good only .2 of a bar variation across all 4 cylinders and its a minimum of 8 bar with the throttle closed, so good healthy numbers for a freshly built engine that's not run-in yet. Need to check out the alternator output as it didn't seem to be charging the battery - job for tomorrow now as the battery is on charge to top it back up. Then investigate a wider radiator solution as I feel the stock G60 unit might be running outside of it's limits with this setup.. Not got any new videos or pictures as it keeps raining and was trying to get it all done quickly, will do it next time I back it out onto the drive.

Now an 02M box modification to fit a Corrado is very interesting.
-
Nice, why is it always the previous 'repairs' that seem to cause the most hassle? Lucky it didn't break really, although you can at least still buy the glass at the moment.

The CF Forza 3 Race League, Final League Standing Pg 1

Could do both this Sunday although it will be a while as its Fujimi Kaido this week. I am away on the following Sunday after the 14th (work stuff) so it would be good to get it all wrapped up before then. -
The CF Forza 3 Race League, Final League Standing Pg 1
Yandards replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah thinking about it I could do with the 14th as a week of 'travelling to the next circuit..' As or cars/next race series, given that the Tuesday league offers a wider variety of cars I would quite like to run a single type (Corrado obviously) series with a limited but fixed tune for everyone. We can race other cars for a bit of fun (could have a guest car on the same track every week) but I don't want the guest car to contribute to the league scoring, thoughts? -
:fondle:

Gauge issue, double check the boost pressure at the ECU MAP sensor by using the MFA dignostic mode. Have a read of this thread to see how to do it.

You should have said I could have met up for a drink!

The CF Forza 3 Race League, Final League Standing Pg 1
Yandards replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
Heh addictive isnt it? I talked a couple of people I know who are complete petrol heads into buying it along with an xbox to play it on; they can't stop either. I think the next league will be everyone racing the same tuning spec cars, that way the racing should be tighter and less dependant on people's tuning skills. Will update front page after posting this for results, apologies for the swift exit on Sunday folks had to shoot off. -
Be wary when you buy.... (DVLA Logbook Scam)

Never :( , it;´s the government, they enjoy something like CD-status, will always be able to waffle their way out. Then again, I´d like to be proven wrong. Tempest Nope, no such thing as Crown Immunity anymore mate, as such they can and do get sued. -
That will be in the highway code instead, as I am sure are now aware - dual carriageway with a central reservation 70mph without 60mph.
