  1. Yes I TOTALLY agree! My friends say i can reduce my £1000 bill to £500. But i prefer a specialist rather than a general garage. As bills adding up - I might take the pad/discs to a cheaper garage as simple job :)
  2. Cheers Sean My Corrado specialist charges £40/hr So potentially just below £300 then
  3. Cheers Sean :) No noises - no crunchy - no notchy gear changes. Just ocassional crunch in 1st gear (not 2nd) Car will have oil/filter change. RAC man said clutch biting point is fine - no need to change clutch. I just GUESS £300 - as is it not standard price about £100 per pads (supply/fit)? So if change front pad/disc £150? Then times 2 = £300 in total?
  4. My garage has just mentioned best to change the discs + pads too! Another £300???? GLUP! :( Sean! I have asked garage to change the CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER. As my clutch is sticking too as said by RAC man. Though Still wonder what is the EXACT cause of me NOT able to put gear stick into gear? The day i picked up my Corrado, stuck in heavy traffic for 20mins, riding/holding clutch at biting point in traffic... ...does that REALLY heat up transmission and not let u put into gear? Or that something MORE serious? Not happened since (as i always put in neutral at stops now)... Something inflicting older manual gears? Not modern gears???
  5. Rain Rain Rain today :( But Yeah Andy, thanks and hopefully meetup sunny Tues around 2pm :)
  6. Well School 1/2 Term mini tour in my Prelude (no Corrado as planned :( ) Hooked up with a fellow Prelude forum member in Southampton :) Then met Seanl82 (the really nicest most helpful top guy one can ever meet!) Then fish n chips on Hayling Island beach with kids :)
  7. Just Lambda sensor Idle speed regulator thingy
  8. Car still with garage until they get the parts coming week Will report back when fixed! :)
  9. Cheers Sanky! :) Already saving beer tokens for Sean already :)
  10. Nice one! Problem I have is I don't know when its the RIGHT part in good nick and for RIGHT price :( But cheers for heads up :)
  11. Cheers bud! Awesome when u can do the work yourself :) Not only will u save loads - but also seeing the satisfaction of your own work :) Not for me. But nice to know - thanks again
  12. Mate - we seriously need to talk tomorrow ;)
  13. Sorry Not very good picture U can just about make out the cone filter on the bottom left of my 1994 VR6 Questions for my car: 1. Better to retain the cone filter of go back to box filter? - pros n cons? If retain cone filter: 2. Should i add a heat shield? 3. If so how best? 4. Should i add a coldfeed? 5. If so how best? Thanks all
  14. Cheers Sean! I not usually into mods and like my cars standard (unless already modded when bought). £700 far too much for me for the gains of is it 26bhp? I am happy with just 10-15 just for the remap. ONLY reason I looking into it now is maybe I gotton used to the power and feel it lacks a bit ooomph lower to mid range? And that cars in general have flat spots? But I not noticed it in mine yet...
  15. Cheers I still having a very steep learning curve on here :) Oh Lumpy idle can feel like about to stall :( No thank you my car is like THAT all the time now! Eeeek! Stalled SIX times in one lunch time - hence now she s parked up in the garage :( Still unsure what the TOTAL cost of fitting 263s + remap would be????
  16. Lumpy what? Will be talking to Vince/John ref remap Just want to make sure its what I want and happy with price ...
  17. Cheers But a man got to know how far his wallet can stretched to .... :(
  18. Hi James I like to purchase one of your latest Headlight Looms for £39.99 for my 1994 VR6 Can u PM me your PalPay address please! Does it come with instructions? Thanks Wayne
  19. Cool! Thanks Buddy! :thumbleft::thumbleft::thumbleft: Whizzed through most of that - might have not read all, but to summarise: 1. Go for 263 (better value for money and power from low to top) approx £350+ (Fitting cost???) 2. Leave 268 (power mid to top) 3. Most people fit cams then remap 4. Fitting cams alone or just a remap yields similar results? Some debate about if add cams then u SHOULD remap... 5. Bits and bats about VSR? Shrick? etc 6. in 2009 remap was £275+vat from Stealth So for me though a very crude decision (based on my quick summary above): 1. Cheaper to just do a remap (price maybe more than £275+vat now) 2. Cams just too expensive at £350+fitting 3. As long as a remap gives a better delivery of power across the ranges AND removes flat spots then I am happy bunny  Will try to meetup with Vince/John on Monday or Tuesday of the coming week.....shame I can't take my Corrado with me for them to look at :(:(:(
  20. £2-300????!!??? OK I leave them! Lol I ll search for those lengthy threads :)
  21. Not sure I love this forum or hate it too! One minute I paid good price for a car. Next minute I ploughed in MORE than its bought price! Eeeek! Lol Seriously I like to get my moneys worth! I only want to do things once. So if it costs me say £200 for a remap and another £50 to add 263s then I ll do it. But if it costs another £100 for 263s or that I have to drive all the way to Midlands again to get it done for £50 - then its not value for money for me. Its just a shame if by paying a bit more I might get more value for money - best to have an informed choice (wink)(wink)
