Supercharged Junkie replied to StormVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Saw a black Ferrari enzo driving towards me around march time thru the new forest, looks quite nice in black........for a Ferrari -
Been using the gold class range of waxes, It takes ages to clay bar the paint down, then paint cleaner, then polish and finally wax but its worth it in the end. But its good stuff, never tried the NXT stuff yet Later Ian

Then again just came back from work and the car drives so much better without,Aaaaarrrrgggggghhhhh choices choices can`t handle the pressure Aaaaarrrrgggggghhhhh  :? As am a lazy b think am gonna leave the orginal on until i change my mind again  Alex, must admit around this time last year i was gonna get rid of the high RS spoiler but after thinking about it for a while decided to keep it; makes the car stand out from other C`s. Personally i don`t think its chav but i guess everyone to there own :fist: Hehe  Later Ian

interesting response, Must admit just been making some food looking out the kitchen window at my car and it doesn`t look quite right without it on :-( Think am gonna put it back on until i get hold of a RS2 bumper later on this year or early next year Cheers for the thoughts thou Ian

Hi What do you reckon with or without my front GTS spoiler? Am going towards without now after driving with the orginal back on. Feels a damn lot faster without the great big drag the GTS spoiler creates Although it does look more menacing with the GTS on What do you think?

Supercharged Junkie replied to Chris VR6nos's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah saw the rally on sunday afternoon, still think they should fit a dixxie horn to the subaru so that everytime it launches off a crest solberg can do the dukes of hazzard  -
Just ordered some new beru ones from vwspares only come to £30 with next day P+P Tell you what might just be the new dizzy cap & rotor arm, but the car feels alot more alive now with the old leads in place :-) Ian
-
Hi Just had some fun fitting a new dizzy cap & rotor arm, first of all forgot what lead went where on the dizzy cap (Duh!) then when i was trying to work out which lead went where two of the brass/copper? inserts just fell out of the leads..What a pile of poo these leads are, for £60 i think i paid for them i would of thought they last longer than 8months! Luckly still had my old vw leads around, put them on now. Anyhow just to warn you all beware the quality of the K1 racing leads isn`t great, i would and will be sticking to the VW leads from now on Later Ian

Yo Nick Which garage did you take the C too ?, Having real trouble finding a reliable garage myself around this way! Any luck fitting the mount? Ian

Hi Just replaced my old water expansion tank with a new one from GSF and now everytime i drive the car the water low level light starts flashing at me. I still have to fix a water leak on the side flange but even if i top the water right up the damn light flashes  Is there something else i have to do too the wiring to stop it flashing on the new tank? Cheers Ian

Hi Strange one for ya, Is the map reading light on a different circuit/fuse than the main interior light? Reason i ask is when i went to change the bulb in the map light, the interior light dimmed slighly for a sec and now the map light doesnt work at all. Tried a different bulb to no avail ? Any ideas? Not a big problem i know , just a pain in the arse! Cheers Ian

Hmmm, NO ! Ah, Just checked the car over and found the isv had popped out of the tube from the manifold, could this have something to do with the big power drop on its own?
-
Hi Darren, Will get in contact with you soon about this. No, still in good old Salisbury area, been down to see John (16VG60) been having alignment issues with the new Inpro lights which he sorted out for me. Was gonna pop in and say hi, but i was usually running late or wanted to get home :-)

Hi Haven`t driven any other G60`s so couldn`t really say! Doesn`t feel slow, pulls like **** in every gear thats why i was expecting a high BHP considering a standard G60 is around the 160 mark :-( No other cars there, The guy is a mate of a mate, so was doing me a favor by putting it on the RR. Did the run 3 times and the final run produced the figures above. He said he could check the car over but i think i want to take it to a G60 specialist really(He deals with race tuned minis) Just really want to know what could cause such a big drop in power Ian

Hi all, Finally got round to getting my car on the rolling road today and i wish i never bothered. Was expecting around about 180BHP with the mods i`ve done to my car(see sig for spec) but only managed:- Engine power(measured) = 143.1hp@102mph / 5310 1/min Wheel Power(measured) = 122.3hp@102mph / 5310 1/min What the feck is going on? Well down on power, The charger was done at the end of last year by Darren at G-werks so thats not it plus the torque is at 156lbs/ft@4074 1/Min. Fueling seems to be alright, Pinking alittle at max revs. Could the timing be way out? Any ideas? Ian

Just got a copy of PVW, haven`t read it yet but looking at the pics it does look a awesome car :-D Nice poster as well BONUS

Hey another Corrado in Salisbury, don`t see many around this way. I don`t have much luck with doing simple jobs on my G60, but stick with it and when you finally get there it brings a smile back to ya face(until the next thing breaks :-( )
-
Oh joy, Yeah still have to get a new starter motor, The one i got from GSF Saturday is for a AUTO which i didn`t realise until i took the old one off  Think i might just take it to a garage to do, Got an MOT on the Friday :-(
-
Hi Think i know now Ant feels now, Fix one thing on the car and something else breaks  ,Anyhow enough of my moaning! is there a special way to get the lower bolt holding the starter motor on. Because i tried for about 45mins to get the bugger in and it would bite then let go everytime. It feels like the bolt is threaded but the thread doesn`t look too bad, could it be the nut at the other end, if so now the hell am my gonna replace that ? Any ideas guys ? At the mo got the top bolt holding it on, which seems to work ok so far :-( Also anyone know the correct torque settings for the bolts, did the top one upto 20nm! Cheers Ian
