GSF Boge Front Turbo Gas Shocks
Supercharged Junkie replied to Supercharged Junkie's topic in Drivetrain
Cheers, Still can`t work out the GSF description system... Changing all the springs and rear shocks so would be nice to know that the fronts are the correct shocks for my car before i do it Thanks Ian -
Hi I replaced the front shocks on my 92 J G60 about 2 years ago now and never really been happy with them to be honest, they made the front of the car look higher Just found the old invoice for the them, typed the GSF part number(45557A) into GSF website and it came up with front shock for a VE 1.9 Diesel & Turbo Diesel 1/92 > WTF? I take it i have had the wrong shocks on the front all this time thats why it didn`t feel right :x Should have GSF Part No. 45560 Right :?: Could someone check that am not going  and that is the shocks for a 92 J Corrado G60 Cheers Ian

Is the powerflex part number PFR85-207 for the bushes ? Better be, otherwise i just ordered the wrong part  Anyone confirm this? Have you check the bolts holding the wheel on, Had a strange clonk everytime i pulled away, turned out to be the wheel was loose
-
You got the part code for the rear bushes? is 191 501 541 or 191 501 541 A ???
-
Yeah i used a cable tie when i did the switch on my G60, only problem i found is that when you switch the ignition off the stereo switches straight off instead of when you pull the key out of the ignition. So i spend 10mins putting the screw back in, wasnt that bad to be honest, fecking 2days to get the screw out thou :x Gonna do the honda s2000 starter button next, got a richbrook one at mo but it doesn`t work anymore i think because of the current overload after reading the link on the first page of this topic. Anyone know where to get a cheap honda s2000 or better looking starter button from? Cheers Ian
-
Well can only really afford around £300mark really at mo, gotta get the rear trailing arms bushes replaced aswell, plus a new front engine mount...the list goes on.... So anyone tried using the H&R springs with boge turbo gas shocks from GSF ? Had boge shocks with GSF own lowered springs(I think?) on my old scirocco and i quite liked that setup...bit too harsh for a Corrado i think thou Any ideas? Thanks Ian
-
Hi Just got a quote from Stealth Racing for some Koni TA`s with H&R springs for £542.38 inc vat. I thought i saw this package somewhen for around the £350 mark ???? That kinda of price might just get some FK highsports coilovers! Anyone know of anywhere cheaper for konis/H&R ? Cheers Ian

Yeah, Would of been a piece of piss without the EVIL spring clip stopping me in my tracks, but hey-ho thats life i guess :x Looks like a little trip down to g-werks when you get a free slot, Darren  Let us know Later Ian
-
Oh well, its beaten me into submission :( Darren send me the hoses to bypass the water/heat exchanger and after an hour trying to remove 1 spring clip i`ve decided to give up because i was getting very close to breaking something. Think i will have to get someone to fit it for me, because i`ve had enough of the bloody thing :x Later Ian
-
must admit didn`t really think too much about removing the OE water exchanger before i started this little project but now i am going too, just so i can fit the correct filter without getting a chainsaw out  Just wondering what you do with the hose going into the water exchanger ? But anyhow, forgot to mention to Darren about the other hassle i had with the kit, Which is i couldn`t get the hose pipes you sent fully onto the connectors going into both the cooler and the sandwich plate :( No matter now hard i tried the hose would only go over the second barb and come to a complete halt, so i put some clips i had laying around on, do you think these will be alright like this? even tried removing the hose and start again but they want move at all  WHAT FUN! :D  Anyhow, Am tired, think am too old to work nights now  I`ll give ya call 2moro Darren Cheers Ian
-
Calmed down abit now, Sorry didnt mean to go off on one....Just really annoying to get that far and then have a silly thing like that stop me :( Anyhow, Does cutting the bolt off the bottom filter work? Using Mann filters from GSF are these alright? Might try again friday, I`ll give ya a call before i start thou just incase  Also picked up some 3in1 professional lube spray to lube the charger internals, is this ok to use ? Its a ptfe spray, but i better check before i do it dont want more hassle  Cheers Ian
-
I am so pissed off right now  Just spend 3hours fitting an Mocal oil cooler i got from Darren and after fitting the cooler, finding a place to run the hose from the cooler to the oil filter fitting and so on.... Fitted the sandwich plate to the bottom of the filter hosuing and went to fit a new oil filter and the fecking thing won`t fit anymore  NOT HAPPY! What the feck is going on here, now do you get these kits to fit? Given up at the mo, cable tied the sandwich to something and fitted the oil filter as usual but why doesnt it fit, there is no room for filter to fit onto the plate without cutting the lower cross member! HELP!

On the subject of fuel gauge, i just fitted a vr6 fuel pump & sender to my G60 and the fuel gauge is about a 1/4 of a tank out now. I see there is some kind of adjust screw on the side of the sender but what tool is needed to adjust the screw ? Looks like a really small allen key is needed or is there a special vw tool required ? What would be an easier way of adjust it ? Cheers Ian
-
Right picked up the new pump & sender yesterday, worried at first because its white! but after checking the pic above i see it is the right one but a different colour. Tried getting the pump form GSF in the first place, they don`t do them :( Can`t quite work out now the sender connects to the pump thou, any ideas? The sender was £47.96+VAT part number 1H0 919 673 F Gotta try and fit it later today or tomorrow, then i can really open it up  :D Cheers Ian EDIT: silly me! Just had another look and its quite bloody clear where the sender fits D`oh!

The pump i got doesn`t look like the one Darren showed me Part number is : VW = 191 906 090 Bosch= 0 580 453 914 Is this the right fuel pump for a 92 J G60 ? Cheers Ian
-
Hi Joe M New pump from the stealers costed me £95, which i didn`t think was too bad  Do you really need to get a new fuel gauge sender, whats wrong with the old one ? What size jubilee clips do i need? Cheers Ian
