  1. No room for mole grips, and YES i sweared quite alot at them with no real joy :censored: Supercharged, do you think theres enough room to use bolt grippers on it? (Sorry for the bad pictures, camera couldn`t focus on it for some reason)
  2. Hi Guys Gonna change the valve cover gasket soon as oil running down the back of the engine block, So i ordered a new gasket from VW today, and thought i`ll get a head start by swapping out the m8x20 bolts that go from the rocker cover to the inlet manifold with some new ones i got. Problem is managed to remove two of the four, but the other two have been completly rounded off, and of course theres no room to get anything on the bolt itselfs :brickwall: Anyone got any ideas on the best way to remove them? Thanks, Ian
  3. Anyone :confused4: Really not sure what to do with it at the moment :help:
  4. Just started, went to washer the rear screen while going along, and the spray shot off the side of the car then moved with the wiper arm!!!!!!!! wish i had known, would of gone thru the middle of town spraying people :hitler: Not sure what makes it stay in one place thou ?

  6. Hi All Having a bit of an issue with the rear washer jet, it seems to be moving with the wiper arm instead of staying in one place :cuckoo: Not sure how these things work, so i thought i better ask on here before taking it apart! Any ideas :confused4: Thanks, Ian
  7. Yeah the handle bit of the handbrake should slide forward off the lever itself, annoyingly i actually managed to break the bottom part of the trim, so how it just lifts off  but the handle does come off that way, think it slides into a notch in the trim piece, so you might have to put some force into it! Good luck!!! Ian
  8. Doubt it would fit a VR, the disc would 4 stud for a G60 not 5 stud as for the VR I think Badger5 are the best people to ask about uprated bigs.... http://www.badger5.co.uk/
  9. Well started the day going to fit the second hand back box i got from corrado_sunderland and discovered the other silencer needs replacing too. But because i only sprayed up the back box out of the exhaust system i got decided to leave that for another day!. Then decided to fit dave16v handbrake trim kit, ever since my car came back from the local garage up the road when they fitted two new handbrake cables because i was to lazy too do it the handbrake lever when fully disengaged was sticking up about a inch from sitting flush. I just thought they fecked up the trim so it didn`t fit correctly. On taking it apart thou, i discovered they had actually managed to rip the handbrake lever right out of the plate that holds it in place :mad2: So spent the whole afternoon fixing that, Had to drill a hole into the tunnel and fit a bolt into it, then put the handbrake back on and WooHoo now fixed!!! Thats the last time am going to be lazy when there is something to do on the car! Heres the pics! handbrakefix1.jpg[/attachment:1otarj9y] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfHandbrakeFix2.jpg[/attachment:1otarj9y] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfhandbrakefix3.jpg[/attachment:1otarj9y]
  10. Fitted some new VAG front disc`s with greenstuff pads & fitted a lower front brace :-) Amazed how well the VAG discs & greenstuff pads work already, far better than the black diamond disc & pads they replaced. Pics:

  13. Hi, Yeah it was me who had the respray about 3years ago now at Elite, Although you wouldn`t guess, the rust he was meant to treat came back within 6-7months. Though i`ll give him another chance with the old tailgate i wanted sprayed up and he did a SHITE job on that, then give it back to me with a mark in the paint that had been clear coated !! ffs Then wanted to charge me for re-doing it, so NO am not going there EVER again! (sore point :mad2: ) Which VW place did you go? heritage up churchfields?
  14. Yeah, its needs more than a dentmaster to fix it It just really winds me up that someone just drove into it, and then thought crap! i`ll go park over there as no one saw it! Whats even more annoying is am out of work at the moment, got made redundant a coulpe of weeks ago, so this is the icing on the cake! I go and find a bodyshop somewhen next week, anyone know of a good bodyshop in the Salisbury area?
  15. Hi, Just went out to clean the bird crap off the car and found someone else has left me a little present....... :mad2: Must of happen in a car park last week, Haven`t really been anywhere this week...Not happy  Of course NO note left saying sorry i`ve hit your car here my details! &&^%$%*

  17. Had a whole tailgate in the boot many a time, so i would think a bonnet should fit aswell. Would take some old clothes to put over the side parcel shelves as last time i had the tailgate in, it damaged the side of the parcel shelf :( But apart from that it fitted fine, had to leave the parcel shelf itself off thou. Good luck with it thou, (Will contact you soon about the heater controls hopefully) Ian
  18. Hi Jonathan Me again, let us know how you get on with the early style heater....I think the bulb in mine finally lost interest in working anymore :) Also if you get the light output sorted, any chance of redoing mine like you done yours...Looks well cool like that Cheers Ian
  19. Hi After having JMC change all my switches to RED LEDs the green cigarette lighter looks out of place, so does anyone know the part number of the RED surrounds? I know you can get them from either a Audi or SEAT but really need the part number to go to the local stealers and get a new one Thanks Ian
  20. Hi All Jonathan just done all my switches on my car and the work is top notch, Would recommend his work to anyone wanting a update from the dull green bulbs in there switches. Really does brighten up the cabin having LED red switch gear 8) Heres a not very good pic:-

  22. Top gear must still be pulling in the viewers, seen this : http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/a122396/richard-hammond-buys-gbp2-million-castle.html Really gone off of TG recently, like everyone saids where are the car reviews gone that don`t cost over £30k Getting more into 5th gear, don`t like Jason Plato as a racing driver but like him on the show  And VBH gets better with age :notworthy:
  23. Changed oil & oil filter today aswell as the power steering fluid.... Had a brown trouser time when, while checking the steering fluid level with the engine running i noticed the car was knocking like mad, a quick look at the oil pressure gauge showed me there was NO oil pressure  quickly switched the engine off, checked oil level and was fine, tried again with still no oil press, gave a quick blip of the throttle and thankfully oil pressure came up to normal  Now given up doing anything else due to pure fear of something breaking
  24. Thats a nice looking motor there, kinda makes me wish i didn`t get rid of my inpro angel eyes now :(
