Hi guys & girls, need your help on whether or not too keep the strove rear spoiler(see pic) on the car? Been in two minds about for ages, but the tailgate needs some work done on it (dreaded rust is setting in) and i have Darren`s(W3RKD) old tailgate in the shed which is in very good condition, just needs to be sprayed but of course i won`t be able to move the spoiler over because its bonded to the tailgate! So STAY or GO ?

What stretch? 215 will fit nicely onto a 17x7" rim surely? Well emailled the place am getting the tryes from(mytyres.co.uk) to say can i have them in 40profile instead of 45 The 215width should be no issue with MOT, or will it?

Hi, Needed to order some new front tyres for my G60 been running 205/40 but thought i`ll change to 215/45 this time to get a wider front trye and more sidewall(Roads around here are so bad) but just thought is it alright to have 215/45 on the front axles and 205/40 on the rear? Will it pass the upcoming MOT? Cheers Ian

Quick question about ecu vacuum hose
Supercharged Junkie replied to Supercharged Junkie's topic in Engine Bay
Damn, that what i was going to replace them all with :( Oh well, cheers Supercharged -
Hi, replacing some vacuum hoses on my G60 and just want to make sure i get the right size. I know the vacuum hose between the TB and ECU has to be 1m but what ID is it? 3 or 3.5mm also looking at EKTA, it states the vacuum hose between the inlet manifold and FPR has to be 100mm, but doesn`t say what ID? Thanks for any help Ian

Well been busy coulpe of months, got the motivation to do some more stuff to the C Fitted the MK4 rear calipers and the conversion hoses, easy job too do. striaght swap with old ones, only problem came with when we tried to bleed the brakes, used a eezi-bleed kit twice to completely bleed the system, then the old fashion way with pumping the pedal and still couldn`t get a good pedal feel. The pedal was going half way down before engaging the brakes :( (not good). Managed to sort it out by bleeding the master cylinder :) Fitted daves16v polished stainless steel gear surround and also changed the gear knob to a Amino leather/carbon one Had a new windscreen fitted thru the insurance, Autoglass did a good job fitting the windscreen except for the rubber seal is now coming off which isn`t a bad thing because on removing the old screen found some rust :( so got some sealant and will reomve the seals and treat the rust before sealing the rubbers in. -
Hi Just ordered some brake fluid from vwspares, and they sent me some Febi Dot 4 Plus Whats the "plus" bit? and is it ok to use on a C? Thanks Ian

MK4 Golf Rear Calipers + Pad question
Supercharged Junkie replied to Supercharged Junkie's topic in Drivetrain
Yes the MK4 Golf Calipers are fine, the ones i got (Listed above) are from a 99 MK4 Golf and fit the Corrado carriers without any mods. Althou haven`t got around to fitting them yet :( Cheers Supercharged will order a set of Corrado pads then, although was looking at EKTA and it does list a 17mm thickest pad for a VR6 C :? -
MK4 Golf Rear Calipers + Pad question
Supercharged Junkie replied to Supercharged Junkie's topic in Drivetrain
Right got the calipers and the conversion hoses which don`t come with the calipers now, you need to order them separate. Now a little confused on what pads to get? Been reading up and alot of people say MK4 pads which are 17mm thick, but read one post that said you have to shave 1mm off the pads to get them to fit as the standard pads are 15mm, is this true? Help! :? Thanks Ian -

Hi Looks like am gonna have to go the MK4 rear caliper route soon, one of my rear calipers is seizing up now & then :-( Getting tried of replacing calipers every 6months so think am gonna take the plunge and do the conversion Right done a quick search and have found out that all you need to get is the calipers themselves. They will connect to the original corrado carriers CORRECT? and some conversion hose`s Found these on the C&R website, are this the correct calipers & hose`s needed? What to say a big thank you to g-dub for sorting out a inlet pipe for me Cheers mate Ian -
Had the same kinda problem, turned out to be the idle switch on the TB wasn`t be hit, the switch was slightly bent out of position so not making contact when the throttle was closed :-(

Did a oil & filter change yesterday, Had the car jacked up on axle stands so i could get at the sump and started the engine to warm the oil up before draining and as one of the wheels wasn`t touching the ground it started rotating! This is with the car in neutral, is this normal? or is the clutch dragging? If you stopped the wheel by hand it wouldn`t start spinning again. Just slighty worried that the clutch might be on its way out :-( Second question is for all those people with Audi VDO gauges, Do you need the audi oil temperature sender, because i went to get one for an Audi and the guy was relunctant to sell me one because it was going on to a G60 and they hadn`t had an order for one in 2years? So i got a Corrado one which is the same temp range but the oil temp goes all the way up to 130` in traffic but if you connect the MFA one it only reads just over 100` Any suggestions Thanks Ian
