  1. Wee drive through the snow to drop the car off for its correction. Tbh the car looks great before the work but there's still 20 odd years of swirls and scratches.
  2. Get 5kg of crystals which will do you a few winters, I change them once through the winter and have it sitting in the footwell near the electics.
  3. Car getting dropped at the detailers later today so removed the trickle charger and Kampa dampbuster from inside. It's amazing how much water it takes out the air in the car.
  4. New metal pressed legal plates arrived

    20mm spacer

Nice one hope they are spot on ;-)
  6. Yeah Alpine speakers all round so it looks like Alpine headunit will be getting purchased when I have the funds Cheers
  7. My thinking is the same. I like the original look with the modern sound. I did put an orihinal NOS headunit in my Sportline mk1 and that was reasonable quality. Decisions decisions.
  8. Wee pic of other bits - Fuel filter Spark plugs Spark plug tool Strut top caps Stat, housings and seals Abs sensors Original stereo which makes me think do I put that back in for originality or replace with the Alpine unit ?

  10. Thanks very much. I have used my detailer on all my classics before to get the paint as good as it can be and I prefer doing that than putting new paint on and I think a car needs character with its little marks and chips.
  11. Car goes into the detailers next week for 5 days. Paint correction being the main job but also glass polishing and then if there's time, interior deep clean and engine bay. Metal pressed legal number plates ordered and new oil cap arrived. Once the car is back then I need to start fitting all the parts, starting with the speakers, plus new headunit has been found, just needs bought. It's an Alpine CDE-136bt.

    20mm spacer

Thanks I'm looking forward to the 19's going back on with the spacers all round and the black touches all finished, as I've just done the black stuff when the winters were on. It's a great car and with the VR6 for fun I'm sorted.

    20mm spacer

It's for my daily Winters Summers but with only 10mm spacers on the rears, now got 20mm for rears and the 10mm for the front. Pic is also before I put the black badges and mirrors on but it is lowered.

    20mm spacer

Result  It's 20mm spacers I've got for the GTD once the winter wheels are off.

    20mm spacer

I like how you bolt the spacer to the hub then use your normal wheel bolts to bolt the wheel to the spacer. Better than long bolts through both spacer and wheel.

I also have Stance spacers to put on my Mk7 Golf GTD which look decent as well.

H&R hubcentric spacers are top notch
  19. Here's a black one same as mine http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/300992818115 Luckily the previous owner managed to locate a new rear silver one as well.
  20. It just pops off and the 2 blue things go in the 2 holes on the boot and then the badge just pushes into them with its 2 rear tabs.
  21. Got mine today thanks a lot but like above its from an earlier year, I didn't think they had Corrados in 1978  It's spot on thanks a lot :thumbleft:
  22. I was having a laugh as you wrote " your CAT not your car " hadn't been washed for months, poor cat
  23. Your cat must be filthy and its hair will be matted Great work btw
  24. They are 2 cars that are so different, I like the mk1's for their affordability engine wise and there's nothing quite like driving in the highlands of Scotland in the Sportline with the sun out and roof down on proper roads but the VR6 is way more civilised and naughty. I've not driven the C that much yet so roll on Springtime and the whole point of changing for me was that the C was a much better car to drive further in for shows and meets that I just wouldn't have went to in a mk1. Once I get the C upto my standard even though it's spot on just now, I still like to do the needless jobs, then I will make my decision.
