Ive read alot of this thread..but have you guys sourced your engine from the Bora/passat. britain/ europe etc and is it the DOHC or the OHC 2.8 which has 24V's? and that being the AQP or AUE engine?? Hopefully a good question lol.

36v. LOL Kevhaywire. My g60's going this year, if r32 and 24valves can be put in a corrado within a 6000ish budget this defo makes more sense than a VR6 to me- for power, reliability etc as it appears blown VR are getting a bit old hat, even though ive always wanted one and will get one.

Sept 04 for me. handbreak adjustment and wter housing pipe only 'necessary' expense...unlike wheels, exhaust, coloured coolant pipes, stereo, boost return kit, peace of mind charger service. Prob going to sell this year though!

It's all down to common sense, any pressure is perfect as long as you stay a atleast a foot from the paintwork and atleast that from bumpers and plastics cos they peel v.easily under pressure. also if u blast a stone chip close under high pressure it will prb bubble up th paintwork.

These can create alot more mess than hand polishing, but fine to use at slow speed with wax's (wldnt use compounds unless you sure what to do though) but yep indeedy reduces the elbow grease.
-
Should be fine for a few times a month use mate. just make sure u empty on cold nights etc. Ive got a £1600 karcher - i can recommend those!! LOL.
-
Yep true - crap. Looks like a new shape BMW with an F50 lightning font end- wheres the PUKE smiley!!! LOL There was a red one in last months NUTS mag to be released soon. i think its a dukes of hazzard edition of some sort - its AWESOME and fully honors and modernises the classic.... my two peeee.
-
ALWAYS GARAGED!!!!!- except for dry or sunny and m.o.t days.
-
Theres a company that someone posted up here a few months back, cant remember right now but will do a search. I spoke to them and they do a few REAL shineyyyy paints plus chrome effect paints which are ideal for wheels cos there heavily lacquered and protected (unless u scuff-em of course) and they mainly deal in motor bikes. i got quoted 40- 60 quid a whhel for my BBS'S.
-
I agree Walesy - ive been round quite a few now and im sure VW will be changing that shape drastically next time round. The new golfs are just about growing on me but VW were close to messing them up too.

I think this is a great thread!! if you have a vr and know nothing about tuning potential then it practically gets you going with lots of ideas/pics.

My fav Corrado colour- jealous!!!
-
Quite unintentionally...I've made my Corrado.....

I rmember this, was a german guy (called marcus lol), it had ridiculous amounts of work and money thrown at it. A porsche turbo g60 block i think??? maybe a 3.0L???? The whole thing was lowered in a strange way if i remember correctly? Certainly inspired me to get a Corrado all those years back. -
I think, The Phirm.co.uk are close to you mate.

the youth of today!!! ( f-n scumbags more like!)

Yeah rack - then ignore the tap and SNAP!! LOL. -
Thanks a bunch Steve n supercharged - 20.00 ish sounds less of a rip off for small pieces of rubber.
-
£10.00 for a fire extinguisher!! Supercharged - i'm guessing the generic 8mm is solid enough to withstand the pressure?.... if so, sounds a gd option as no one else has recommended alternative retailers.
-
All the G60 owners who replaced their dodgy fuel lines recently, please could you tell me where you purchased them. Braided or oem. Ive been quoted £55.00 for all 3 from the money rapeing stealers. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive November 05]
marcus replied to Dub_nut_g60's topic in General Car Chat
In Basingstoke - green C reg: G60 PA??????????? Anyone? -
Prices arent too bed- may have the old BBS's painted shiney wwhile there off as the origional wheel refurbisher let me down.
-
Dutch - the people talking about it care. We corrado's look better - thats not the debate- but corrado's are also supposed to be fairly quick. They are both blown VW so not different categories.
-
Obviously standard ones are slow -as all corrado, polo models, so i'm only interested in tuning potential or engine transplant for a pocket rocket because everyone has fiestas, golfs, clios etc. I'm happy with my 190bhp g60 but just curious bout how quick polos are as a cheap sleeper option but would have to contend with 200bhp cars if worth it. I'm glad the debate is going well :-).
-
Dieselgolfwales - yep seriously considering a g40, depending on what my fellow Corrado dominions think. dub envy - are the pistons known for being weak? do u think aftermarket pistons would solve this and is it woth putting g60 charger on them? I agree that (like many cars) they dont look anywhere near as great as the corrado and the poo will come at a price - regret, guilt, no more head turners.
-
You can say it L4PRG cos people think im stupid when i suggest it LOL. :-)
-
Spot on OLLSTER, thats all i needed to hear. :salute: Damn nice Polo that looks too IMO. How did you find the maintenance costs and what mods did you have done???
