Easypops - well what can i say. The guy is a top salesman and a true gent,(although salesman is perhaps not the right word) Many thanks indeed - on behalf of my friend too 🙂 Hasan
-
Might be worth removing for summer? It would also give some added soundproofing

Corrado breakers - who are you using to keep your motors on the road?

nice bargain here:😱 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-SUNROOF-MECHANISM-CASSETTE-COMPLETE-WORKING-G60-16V-8V-VR6-RARE/265083513928?hash=item3db8356c48:g:ss0AAOSw3ypgSLU0 -

i believe one of the skoda ones fit? not sure which one though. -
Cracking car! One of my favourites

Looks like you're our Corrado Forum superhero! Led backlights sound good - any pics?
-
Thanks Ger - unfortunately i don't have a proper heat source plus I'd be a bit concerned with heat near to the motor
-
Good idea! Did you mount it to anything? You wouldn't by any chance have a pic of how you did it would you? I also want to relocate the ecu controller, which is under the scuttle near to the cabin fan inlet. That, or put it in a water tight box and leave it under there. Hasan

Great transformation. Like Cressa i'd be interested in where and how you mount the reservoir, as i've also got a schrick. Mine it at the back with is not really ideal just want to find a batter place for it. I've got the aircon relays located by the engine harness so its a bit crowded there..

Good suggestions. Ive got a set of stud extractors and a centre drill bit so I'll try that, oneohtwo. But you're right when i tried to unscrew with the drill it just didn't have the torque The torx solution seems ingenious! Its damn annoying when it should really be a straightforward task. The actual refurb will be a breeze compared to this..

Need some suggestions here. Looking to strip down and service my spare starter but two of the three solenoid screws are seized solid. Tried release oil, rubber band on screwdriver drill bit, cut a slot and tried an impact driver. No luck. Any more suggestions? Thanks. Hasan

worth posting up their usernames, if possible. To be fair when i see new member names now i immediately think spammer, unfortunately

Did you check fuel at the injectors? Of the fuel pressure regulator is faulty it will come to the rail but not the injectors If the plugs are wet then you're ok for the fuel circuit. Sparks - take one out and, connected to the lead, get someone to crank the car while you rest it on the block and see if you're getting a spark. Check all 6. If they're all sparking it may be the spark is not strong enough. Did you say you'd changed the plugs?

I would remove and test 109. Apply and hold power on it. If it is failing you won't get a spark. If its failing it will.buzz as the circuit opens and closes Crank sensors are pricey so you don't want to change one in a rush! If you can borrow one that would be great. I would then check wiring to your coilpack, and the coilpack itself, if you're not getting a spark. Maybe borrow a replacement from someone if anyone is local? Edit: Sorry Easy, I'm repeating your advice! Hasan

Wiring would be 14 swg which can handle about 8.5 amps or if you really felt like it you could do 12swg which will take about 13amps. But it would be harder to work with. I'll try and get one made up soon and see how it goes and where it could be best located. So in summary, 0.1 ohm aluminium clad resistor 75 -100w 0.4 ohm aluminium clad resistor 50-75w Length of wire approx 1m Aluminium base plate heat sink Oneohtwo is that about right? Hasan

Check and if necessary replace your ECU relay 109. This shuts off sparks and injectors. Also check relay 167 (may be labelled 67). This is your fuel pump relay.

Thanks Fender. Some good info and pics in your thread Anyone want some sony 6038 speakers???
-
Is it feasible or even possible to fit some 5.25 speakers in place of the 4x6 there? What is the max depth, if indeed it can be done? Ive got a set of sony xs 6038 speakers that i bought years back, just thought of fitting them.. Hasan

TBH its not the wipers per se, its the tension in the arm, or rather lack of, which causes the wipers to lift at speed. Hence people opting for the Lupo/TT conversion The headlights can be improved by installing an uprated loom with relays - helps immensely
-
I think we could machine that if one were available

Anywhere in the engine bay should be fine to allow sufficient cooling. As long as they're not too near any plastic. Some screws to hold the resistors in place might be easier than sticking them. It'll help with cooling too as well as being easier to replace if necessary
-
That seems to make sense. The power rating might be written on the fan but i guess a fair assumption would be a 15amp power draw tops. P=VI so 15x12 =180w resistor power rating.
