The sump bolts aren't overtightened are they? Its only thin steel so could have bent slightly. I've bought an alloy sump (not fitted yet) in case i need to change over. Incidentally i had an oil leak from the oil filter cap, which i didn't actually find but the oil drop disappeared after replacing it. Had already changed the oil filter housing gasket, reseated the sandwich plate, new sump gasket, crank sensor seal but it still leaked. Just a thought - sometimes its the most unlikely sources

Good link Fendervg. Oils is always a funny one - i generally see if the oil conforms to 510.01/505.00. Used fully synthetic in mine on the last service but tbh its not really been run as its still sorned so only goes around my dads estate. Also used Mannol recently in the Audi which had pretty good reviews.

Thanks Graham and good tip. I'm thinking of cutting some nylon spacers to attach to the ring so it maintains the gap. I believe the ring floats comfortably but haven't got to that bit yet! No doubt there will be some issues! The other mistake was the hole made for the slip ring extension arm is slightly out of position. So rather than opening the hole in the wheel I'm trimming the top 3-4mm off the ring

Tbh it only took about half an hour all in. Once the clips around the cage were pushed in it was quite easy. But that cage edge is really sharp so gloves were needed to edge it off. Just need to fit a flying lead for each end of the horn connectors

Removed the airbag from the golf wheel. Replaced the studs with M6 nuts and bolts with no washers - otherwise the horn contacts don't touch.

heater dial illumination. A bit too bright so need to put some sensible resistors in there

Good idea let me see what we can do. I have a broken part that was sent to me previously, just need to see if its complete. If it is, i'll see what we can do, maybe look at it being made in stainless 304
