    Not quite sure what you mean Critical_Mass, butmake sure that when you slide the bumper back into their housings you have the bumper sides stting on the side brackets. If thats all okay the bolts should simply go back directly. If they seem short, that means the bumper brackets are not in place. When the bumper is remounted you should hear the bracket clunk at the end. HTH

    Yep, change teh ECU relay, if only to rule it out. Its only £12 from teh stealers so not too pricey unlike teh sensors. Plus i would suggest you do the wd40 trick - spray the relay spades and reseat the relay in the panel a few times to ensure the panel contacts are clean. Then deffo stick it on VAGCOM.

    I've tried various things but it seems to have discoloured because of the heat. I've removed and sprayed mine with some high temp paint from Halfords which has done the job ok.

    Whats this Kenwood like: Kenwood KDCW4031? Its only £80 on Empire Direct? There's also the basic Alpine CDE9843RM with Orange display (which wouldnt suit as my clocks and switches are red and blue). Any ideas on the performance of it and can you easily change the orange colour? Thanks

    Hmm, i'm looking for an HU around (and if poss UNDER) £100. What would be suggestions here? That link that was posted in this thread earlier has obviously been sold - iirc it was for about £120, but dont remember which one. Unless someone has a good secondhand unit that plays mp3s too they want rid of?

    I see this C every Saturday morning parked up in Watford, just off Tolpits Lane. Silver valver, with a roof spoiler (like the ones on the GB recently)

    Dont forget to relube the ISV carefully after cleaning it. Carb cleaner removes pretty much everything so you end up with metal against metal, which will deffo bind after a while. Might help to use something like Slick 50 or any other oil additive - thats about the only good use for those types of snake oil IMHO, but for these applications they're pretty good. ONly a few drops, mind you.

    That's exactly what I had planned to do on the panel - the switches light up nicely with leds, i just need to do this one too. Well done. Look forward to seeing the "lights on" pics

    Strange - i got a pair and they didnt fit - the hinge area was somewhat different so I gave them to a mate :( I dont really want something too shiny tho, but if they're teh only option maybe I'll have to get a set again. stanbates, have you fitted a set in your motor?

    On the new style interior I cant find any good replacement handles and surrounds. The black looks really dull and i'm thinking of painting or otherwise colouring them to a matt silver look - something along the lines of the TT handles. The concern is whether there is any finish that will resist the constant use of the handle without chipping easily. I've got a cream leather interior, btw. Suggestions welcomed. Cheers

    When & where exactly on Essen was the show - i lived in Essen for about 3 years and the only C shows I saw were the VW meets which were all outdoor ones.
