    TT Pedals

The accel pedal is a real bummer to fit, just thought i'd let you know

    what colour dial clocks?

Oh, and the interior is cream leather.
  3. Dont mean to make you feel more depressed but i guess you could have got a manual all done and dusted for that (or thereabouts). Have a look at teh website http://www.europeantransmissions.com for some details on the 096 box - or get your mechanic to have a look, some useful info related to those error codes.
  4. Basically as per the title - i've got black, white and stone dials and am changing my blue led light strip to red (btw led strip still for sale, i'll bump the post) What is a good combination for both looks and visibility. The black ones look superb in the day but I guess they will absorb a lot of light at night and not be so good. Peoples experiences and suggestions? Photoshop cut and pastes? Cheers
  5. Sometimes these pop up on ebay and are quite cheap as they dont shift too quickly. Have a look you may be fortunate. Good luck.
  6. Mmm, sort ecu/immobiliser problem, goddammit  Refurb tt alloys Paint calipers silver, clean leather Redo soundproofing Sort dash rattles Refit bumpers polish lights and black plastic Get new headunit and speakers Then the proper mods start, funds permitting
  7. Yep Kev, that's what I had in mind. Will havea little look and see what's available. didnt know about the Mk3 handles tho, that's a good idea. Any pics of an installed set?
  8. Tornado, are those chrome sliders on the vents? Sure it does look updated compared with standard but the shape and design of the switches still let it down, not to detract from how your cabin looks. My thoughts were towards using, say, Mk 4 switches or some from a Beamer or Lexus or something (just an arbitrary list of cars)

    TT competition rims

Is there any other way to fit the tt rims with, say 215s as opposed to 205s (on a VR) without having the arches pulled? I dont really fancy having the rim protruding beyond the tyre - sometimes the missus drives the car... Whathas anyone else done. Oh and PHAT, the car does look superb
  10. Tough one - as you rightly point out Kev there are many cars faster and better handling than a C, but surely thats not the point. My mate has a Lancia Delta Integrale, and the same thing applies although that doesnt look nearly as nice as a C IMHO. So C ownership is not necessarily about practicality or sensibility - you do need to be a bit crazy to own one, I guess! Uniqueness and individuality plus understated elegance i feel underpins a Corrado over many cars. Hell even the name sounds good :D
  11. That dash looks pretty damn good - any specs on it as the photo is at an angle? Or any other shots for that matter? Cars not bad, just doesnt quite float my boat.
  12. dub envy, your rims look bloody nice - said so before, no harm saying it again. And nice pics too. Seems like your looking at family members there, seeing as I go for weeks without seeing another C.
  13. My dash is in bits at the mo, to sort the rattles and squeaks!
  14. I've been thinking about doing a dash swop in my C for a while. After looking at different options, i still think the overall shape of teh dash is prob best for the C. BUT, and its a big but, it needs some serious updating, which theoretically shouldnt cost the earth. Basic changes (like I've done) is changing the clocks (using Andi dials - cheers bud, got a stone colour plus black ones too  ) and changing the bulbs - blue/red whatever you fancy. A couple of other things include redoing the leds at the bottom indicating oil pressure etc as per the CC of Canada. Apart from that teh thing that lets it down big time are the dash switches (lights, fogs, aircon etc). Does anyone know of any good alternatives for ALL the switches (maybe even the leccy windows if poss)? And can they be fitted with just basic mods (would have thought so)? I'd be interested in comments - oh and mines a 94 VR for the record. Cheers
  15. Solitaire, any luck with feedback from the mechanics?
  16. Bit of feedback all, Used the hammer, but still managed to skid the sockets being used. Decided to use a 6-point socket in the impact wrench - hey presto bolt came off almost easily. As a general commentif anyone thinks plusgas will help on these it wont becasue there's no access to the bolts. Anyone jobs a goodun now, just need to gat some ss bolts, a bumper respray and fit it all back.
  17. Good stuff, cheers a bundle Henny.

    Connollising

Yeah it is - you can get a leather "wheel cover" which is sized on the diameter, not one of the standard cheapo wheel covers. Its then a slow process with a leather sewing needle and the right coloured thread to "stich it back on. You need to specify the dia of the cross-section so that when the cover is stitched both sides fit flush and not with a gap in between. About £30 iirc, cant remember the company though. Will have a look and try and get back to you.
  19. Cheers for that Henny, done the swearing bit about 100 times so far, the knuckles ar a bit worn so that leaves the blowtorch. Will ahve another go at the weekend. btw best place for ss bolts? Thanks
  20. Solitaire, get a repair report from them to find out exactly what the problem was and what they did to repair it. That would make some interesting reading - and one assumes they won't make half of it up!
  21. Gave em a dose of plusgas so i'll leave that to soak for a while and see if that helps. If not, then it looks like a hammer job - not really in favour of heat tbh.

    my pink wedge

Very nice - which size tyres are you using and do you need any spacers etc to prevent rubbing? My wheels are coming in the next week or so, and i dont really want the wrong tyre size. Like the others said, get some interior shots up too mate.
  23. Just tried removing the four front bumper bolts, got one off, the other three are stuck solid despite a liberal use of WD40 - tbh it doesnt really get in towards the thread so i am doubtful about its use. Used an impact wrench which stripped the top of both the 17mm sockets i have! Any ideas on what else to try? Cheers all, and hope we're enjoying the cricket (off topic I know 8) )
  24. Dont mean to hijack this one but 17" tt competition wheels with 225 tyres - would they fit a VR without rubbing? If not, whats needed? Basically I can get 225s more easily and cheaply from my local garage than 205s
  25. If there is a fault with the crank sensor then you cn only check it when the car cuts out BEFORE turning off the ignition and try to restart. Otherwise this get deleted. Try removing and cleaning it and clean the block down too where it is seated - this will probably be a bit rusty. Also, the static resistance test (1kohm iirc) may help somewhat. Check the resistance from the connector and also from the main loom connector for continuity. HTH.
