  1. Ive got a set of the Bigg Red caliper seal kit i bought some years ago. Never used them but took them out recently to check everything was there. New old stock. For the original rear calipers. Bigg red part number 203816 £15 posted
  2. the wire mesh is a flame arrestor i think. Deleting the PCV will mean you'll need to clean your intake elbow more often! I'm also planning to do the catch can mod, i wouldn't put an open filter on though as you'll end up with oil dripping onto the ground.
  3. wow that looks brilliant! The steering wheel is amazing too - how did you fit it and get the indicator cutout and horn to work? I've got a golf 6 one which fits on the spline but i'm stuck after that... Thanks Hasan
  4. Lenso seem to have some really nice rims in their range and quite well prices too. I'm thinking of a change from the TT Comps, so any experience or advise on Lensos? A worthwhile swop? Any issues with corrosion etc? Thanks. Hasan

    handbrake cables

Can you get the rubber boots at the caliper end separately? One of mine has split but the cable itself is fine. Would silicone grease help keep it dry?
  6. just been looking for these - seems they're around £5 each! I'm sure they used to be around £1 each a few years back. Any suggested suppliers? Just to confirm the size, these are M10 x 20mm x 1.25 pitch? Thanks Hasan Edit: actually, these look pretty good: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M10-Titanium-Hex-Head-Flange-Bolt-M10x20mm-1-25-pitch/332385621814?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160811114145%26meid%3Db7da437653ad4bf3a2b51594df6d0949%26pid%3D100667%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D8%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D151178981141%26itm%3D332385621814%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2334524&_trksid=p2334524.c100667.m2042 Would the head cause any issues with fitting and access of sockets or should i look for a direct replacement with the hex socket head? Edit#2: Just ordered these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pitch-Tensile-Socket-screws-Colour/dp/B00SN37GVM Look the same as the original ones

    Davina air con

Great stuff Cressa. Part numbers and pics always help especially for the elusive aircon spares

    Davina air con

I only had the first page of this so thats very useful Gaz, thanks. Hasan
  9. Ah, good tip thanks.
  10. many thanks for that.
  11. Are the cables the same for all cars? Would these febi ones be fine for a 94 vr? Would you mind suggesting where you got yours from Shaun? Many thanks. Hasan
  12. Good questions - yes it allows current in one direction only. I'll get some pics of the diode i bought. Actually i only used 1 as i connected both fans to speeds two and three directly. I think i've got some spares - let me have a look and if i have, send me your address i'll pop a few in the post to you
  13. sorry Martin, mine were Mk5 plugs. I used this drawing, although just three diodes as opposed to 6. Essentially you're connecting each fan to ground and then each of the lives to speed 1 2 and 3. You're then using a diode to make sure the power doesn't find an easier route! Someone else on the forum created a nice harness which i basically copied. Let me have a search and post up when i find it
  14. i basically cut off the old connector and replaced it with a pair of Golf Mk4 connectors. The fans were wired in so that at low speed one fan ran and at speed 2 both were on. I previously had them both running on speed 1 with a wire bridging to speed 2 just in case. This is much quieter now and just as effective, although i have 2 x11" spal fans. I might actually take one out and use a 9" instead as there is more than enough cooling with the mocal as well - similar to your setup
  15. I made up a new loom for mine which plugs into the fan controller harness and with two connectors to each of the fans. I think some details are in my build thread but I'll try and dig out the pics for you

    fuel swirl pot fixings

    That looks pretty impressive!
  17. ...and just when i'd almost decided on a supercharger because of the simplicity. Good call on trying them both out. Not sure if theres anyone nearby to NW London with a boosted VR? What about maintenance and issues relate to that? One of my concersn was that the turbo with the extra power would have a lot more reliability issues, whereas the supercharger was better in that regard. Yes, i'm a bit uncomfortable with hacking anything on the car that is hard to reverse - in fact even down to screwing things into trims etc!
  18. keep coming back to looking at a Rotrex for some reason. It think it seems at though you dont need to do too many extensive engine mods as with a VRT Anyway my questions are these: Other than the supercharger, belt, adapter plate and pulley what else would be required Injectors? If so which ones? uprated head bolts or any other bolts? Can the aircon condenser still be used at the front? Is an intercooler required? Any other mods or adjustments, machining etc required? Mine is an OBD2 with a schrick Thanks
  19. Ah sorry, about 18 months back. Doesn't really help i guess..
  20. https://www.southerncarsecurity.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=49 thats where i got my AI606
  21. i found that it seemed a bit too long but then realised i'd not seated the seal properly in the bends. From what i remember there was a plastic tube joiner between the two ends. But having a longer gasket is certainly better than it falling short and leaving a gap! At least it can be trimmed to size. But you're right for the price it really should be spot on.

    More needed items

you can also use some self adhesive felt wrapped around the switch. Hobbycraft have some.
  23. what would you replace it with? I'd be wary of any open cell type of product but would any vibration damper like damplifier add any benefit?
