but are you actually going to use the 4motion rear arms, hubs linkaged etc? I think you will find it to be a proper pain in the bot. you would be better off sourcing an old mk2 syncro and robbing the rear beam and panels, fuel tank off that, then it will all fit and look factory. I have grafted the haldex diff into the syncro rear beam, as have other people, it can be done and IMO its neater than trying to make the 4motion rear beam fit.

I think 230bhp is a tad optimistic too. max I have ever heard is 190 from the 150 tdi motor.

wild stab in the dark here but I would say an R32 ;-)

nice - but vw would never produce a car where the wheels were actually tucked up in the arches, at best they would be level with them

very nice :) are you planning on going for 4wd then? What rear axle will you will using?

cool - so should he just ignore it? or respond in the appropriate manor?

oops yes 19/07/2005 apparently the date he was caught was correct - as was the issue date. only 52 days later...
-
My mate has just been served a NIP dated 19/07/2006 for doing 40 mph in a 30mph limit. But the date of the offence was 28/05/2005. He was caught by a mobile camera (dunno whether that makes a difference) but doesnt the 14day nip issue rule apply here? If so what does he do? I dont think returning it will a letter stating Up Yours or words to that effect would go down well. Does he ignore it? or what? any help would be appreciated Ta

certain friends of mine just totally dont understand, nor can they see the point of what I am doing with my car. Its even been referred to as a pile of shyte, which I supposed from an outside point of view it does look far off. But it always makes me laugh when they tell me it must have cost me a fortune and they are driving around in new cars that are depreciating faster than they could say 'My god I've lost a fortune' yes its costing me a bit of money, but its no more than the money that I would lose in depreciation on a new car, and at least I get to spend my money on cool bits, it doesnt just evapourate.

cheers for the help - I didnt know some 24v motors demanded 4 bar! I might just stump up for a walbro mega pump.
-
mmmm I know that too, the lift pump is really only there to prime the main pump as far as I am aware. My concern is just cos the pump can pressure a static line up to 4 bar, it doesnt mean it can flow very fast. I guess know one knows eh.... :(

Hello, I am thinking about using a 16v pump to supply the fuel for my 24v motor. Bearing in mind this will be supercharged I am looking for the flow rates of the 16v fuel pump in comparison to the 24v pump. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. p.s. I know that the 16v K Jet pump operates between 4 and 5 bar, and the 24v one operates at 3bar - question is, can the 16v pump maintain its 4 bar with the fuel demand the 24v (and eventually the charger) will place on it? Ta

get a smaller steering wheel, or one with a flat bottom :-)
-
I am 6ft and I dont get any bother either - you havent got extremely short arms have you blair?
-
Yeah that was andy, the original owner, who did the engine. The rest of his good styling taste has been wiped from the car

They are excellent - One to go for is definately a mk2 10th Anneversary - 1700 made, all with bilstein suspension, six speed box, leather/alcantara sports seats. torsen diff, Nardi steering wheel and gearnob as standard. As far as I am aware it was the most expensive mx-5 produced to this day Terrific car. Might be worth finding one with a hard top as standard
