  1. welcome! 200k auto? Impressive!
  2. Unless you were adding a day at worthersee i wouldnt go out of your way to get to that road. it is awesome and being that it only goes to a cafe and the dam at the top means its empty empty, but there are loads of others around the alps. If you get to stop at worthersee then its worth the trip.
  3. whats the latest to get a free ticket andy? was supposed to be away that weekend, but may look at finally rejoining the ccgb and coming up if i'm not going!
  4. cant offer too much in the way of road trip advise as i've never got round to driving out that way however i would say if possible, try and time it around worthersee if you're dropping through austria. defo worth getting into germany as soon as possible, loads of tolls if you go the france way. if you do get down to worthersee then the malta pass is well worth hitting up too. awesome road to nowhere.. edit - you want to end up here: http://goo.gl/maps/9RC37 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6lnbrein_Dam
  5. Buy cheap, buy twice. You get what you pay for etc etc. eBay junk will be eBay junk. AP Id much rather a £200 set of used weitecs than eBay stuff.
  6. indeed.. amazing mileage, but terrible photos etc.. nothing to prove its been looked after. in fact looking through the photos i was hoping the car had been stored in that house contained garage behind, until the last one showing it under cover outside. yuk.
  7. undoubtedly there will be deals just as good on the 4s as there are on the 4 in a few weeks. looking at weekend of the 21st sept for launch. the phone should be announced around the 10th and that's when the preorder/clearance deals come about so you have about a 10 day window!
  8. looking good bud, will look loads better once other bits are swapped over. if you dont sort out the light swap i have a spare set of standard ones knocking about.. im a big fan of all red rears and black rear plinth, the white makes the rear end look a bit squished.
  9. 205/45/16 for all round goodness 195/40/16 for better looks but less everything else.
  10. I was trying to work out how 4.2 & sensible were in the same conversation until LPG was mentioned. Looks great. What suspension is on the Rado by the way? not mentioned on the ad or build thread. not that i've been looking..
  11. if you have a 'summer' car its cheaper to tax for the summer from march-august than april-sept. tax always goes up 1st april!
  12. I'd give em a knock, but also you need to have an idea first on what you'd be prepared to pay. [and make sure you have the money quickly available if they will sell]
  13. thats not even including delivery let alone fitting.. £131.52 delivered. making your price very good!
  14. or cue behind the dregs of society collecting their 'wages'
  15. i was about to say similar to James, the Toyo's are alright and certainly better than a standard ditchfinder for the money. Uniroyals would be a much better choice for an extra £20 I reckon. I'm tempted to pick up a spare set at that price.
  16. I've yet to tackle a matrix but have removed a dash. To be honest, it's pretty easy, just a case of undoings bolts and taking your time. Considering how bad a job it's meant to be its not taxing just time consuming.
  17. I dont see why not, i've not heard of any 15"s not fitting under 280's and et25 on an 8 should give you loads of space. Wouldn't like to be the one to say 100% though!
  18. indeed.. you'll have no problems. I always try to run the other way round though so tax expires a month before MOT. that way if you happened to have a failure then at least you're not panicking about tax! remember also you can MOT up to a month in advance, always worth doing..
  19. are the headlights late or early? i'll have a look in the shed tomorrow and see which spare glass i have, may take the pair if its the right one!
  20. A few points.. Firstly, theres not enough info to make an informed decision. He states they're direct fitment to a 928s so should/could be RS131 8 1/2 x 16 56.0 130.00 5 71.6 Porsche 928S VA RS132 9 1/2 x 16 59.0 130.00 5 71.6 Porsche 928 S In which case these are great numbers. Some Porsche wheels have a very low offset so are no good for adaptors. The next thing you need to find out is if they are a staggered set 8.5/9.5 or four of one or the other. Staggered would just about work, 8.5s would be great, all 9.5s are too much work. The next thing is the price and location. Yes £750 is great. Postage/Customs/Handling would easily take that well over a grand though. Now you have to look at condition. All the bolts need replacing & the dishes need refinishing, that's then another 4-500. Personally, I think buying from America is a no. Charges just dont make it worthwhile. now these - 8x16, with 15/20mm adaptors 8) http://www.ebay.de/itm/BBS-RS-077-Hochglanzverdichted-8x16-et-35-5x112-Generaluberholt-/160874989736 http://www.ebay.de/itm/BBS-RS003-Alufelgen-RS-003-001-7X16-ET25-RAR-frisch-aufbereitet-/140836551828
  21. massive ballache, not easy money by any stretch, but can make a decent profit if you put the effort in. personally i've thought about it loads and nearly bought a couple of cars for the purpose. you really need to have a large storage area and a clear 6 months to get everything gone. being proactive and taking advantage of ebay free listing weekends etc will help. The thing that puts me off is removing/packaging/sending the £5 items where you'll drive to the post office and queue for 15 minutes for a couple of quid.
