1. So here's current state of play.. My original cupholder was used as a mould, for a plaster sample to be made up. From that they've managed to make a rough first draft. I went and collected that and I'm impressed, but not 100% happy. It does hold a can, but it wont drop quite to the base and the first ridge is slightly bigger, so a little bit rattly. This is because I used guttering hose, not an actual cupholder as the original! My options are to try and find another cup section, or to have one made in resin, but that could be big bucks. [£200-£300.] Not a problem if i can sell a hundred, but too expensive for the numbers we're at currently. I'm also struggling to find a supplier for 60mm rubber/foam circles for the bottoms of the cups. At the moment they're £1 each, or handcut. I'm pleased with the leather look finish though - much better than the other supplier! Excuse the Natch can, only cans in the house!
2. Ronal TT 5 spokes powder coated black but flaking in places no curb rashes odd tyres=£100 interested in these if theyre 5 spoke comps but not if ronal 6 spokes?
3. Awesome car, well done. I drove one on a supercar day a few years back and absolutely loved it. I drove a Gallardo first and it did nothing for me, but the Aston really captured me. I know its a completely different league to the rado, but there were defo similarities in the way it drives & driving position etc, I felt at home in it straight away. You're welcome to let me borrow it whenever you want. :bonk:
4. Not had first hand experience of living with one but a friend of mine has one as his only car - cycles to work so not daily 'daily'.. Defo more good points than bad! Very thirsy in vtec and underpowered out of it. I quite like the interior - yes it's bland and plasticy but what car actually isnt? At least with the Teggers there's a scene of purpose. Recaros are nice, again not as comfy as Rado Recaros, but all adds to the lightweight feel of the car. My friends just had to do a bit of body work, rear arches and around bumper/boot area. About £500 and its looking spanking now. His is standard, with full main dealer history. He's kept this up, taking advantage of fixed price servicing - Apparently Honda have the same price for service items on the Integra as a Jazz or anything else!?! I'd love to own one, but I know I'd get bored of it quickly. If you did lots of track days etc i'd sell the Rado without second thoughts. If you want a sporty daily then stick with what you have.
5. Hmm - do you remember me saying that when i'd bought it there had been damage to passenger side driveshaft? I've dug out my gallery thread for the car for reference. LOOK HERE! I'm racking my brains for whether I'd replaced inner and outer CV's on this car or another. It defo had a new wishbone on that side though. I'd have thought you'd have noticed something long before now if it was related, but thought it's worth mentioning! Hope it gets sorted.. Oh and in other news - the mk2 got hit the other day :( only needs a wing but might end up written off :(
6. Its gone :( shell was rotten so the g60 lump is now in the mk3 above..
7. It's okay, he gets a nice soak afterwards.. although you can still tell he's in pain sat down.
8. I have for sale a set of 17" Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Five Spokes. 7&9" Widths 5x130 ET55 front & rear Generally good condition, Originally I had four, but one had a big scratch/gouge across the face so I bought a 5th! There are now two very good 7" two very good 9" and a scratched 9" spare! I was going to run these on my Corrado, but have two sets of Porsche wheels already so a third is just greedy. I'm advertising at £330 delivered nationally, will sell for £300 collected from Bristol. This is for all five! If you have something interesting to swap/px please let me know! Cheers Baz 07071613986
9. i think there's far more things to concentrate on first than selling a decent set of seats if you want to look at changing the overall look/spec of the car. Thats unless you're about to get a great deal on Vick's interior buying the lot
10. My brother is after a set of standard mk4 alloys. Ideally with decent tyre tread and minimal curbing but anything considered at the right price. Preferably somewhere within collectig distance from Bristol, however I am possibly going to reading/London this week or postage could be an option What have you got tucked at the back of the garage??
11. Very nice! Pics of the other one? And the cover? Could just get you to send the lot in one parcel if the price is right!
12. I dont have that lead, i guess it is all something i should learn although it's so much easier to hand a car over and get it back dealt with! Interesting about VVT, remember i'm running an S60 not S80 - does that make a difference?
13. let me know price on both and the rad cover.. posted to bristol
14. Okay, so a brief update.. I've got a company willing to make a run of 50 and costs will be discussed in detail on Friday. They've taken my last sample to produce a model from and once I've said yes can turn this into a resin mould. They will be available in black only and it will have a leathergrain effect to match the rest of the centre console. My concern at the moment is that we don't have 50 people! Once I've established costs, I'll work out cost based on 20/30/40 people and then maybe it will encourage more to join! So this is currently to say that it can happen and cost dependant will!
15. Thanks bud, get yourself down for the groupbuy if you want one! I should have dates by friday! groupbuy thread
16. Mapping was all already sorted before i collected it. Not sure who actually did the map, but it was arranged through G-werks. I've just booked in with Swict to see them next week about the oil sensors and an alarm issue I've been having. Last time I was there they said my DTA was running an older version and they could get an emailed update, will chase this too. Believe me, when I got the car there was a lot to do - I drove home with no instrument cluster! But knowing the paint was mint and the engine was great it was worth investing time in. It's now at the stage where anything else I do will be because I want to, not because it needs doing. It is indeed a 1991 J Plate - It was originally a G60 and at one stage was going to be 16vG60. It's a tricker starting base for an R32 as there's more wiring to be done, but most of that wasn't my problem :) Thanks again for the feedback!
17. Yep all good - need to go back up to swict soon to get the oil sensors installed as i still have that flashing light but the parts are all ready! Thanks for your help so far with advice. Thanks Jude, I was at Caring with Cars just outside Bristol.. It was a charity pistonheads meet for Childrens Hospice South West. Can you post up the pic? I'd love to see it!
18. theyre not available from anywhere! this is a potential problem item which could really do with someone with the skills to start making - or a possible classic parts piece? at the moment just from cars breaking..
19. indeed.. the amount it uses anyway the saving of a couple of pence per litre doesn't make a difference!
20. nice once, thought that was the case.. if you have one that would be great!
21. If you have a classic green storm can you do me a favour please and look up! I need to check the exact colour of the sunroof switch on a beige interior. I've been trying to find one in beige, presuming this would be standard with beige interior. however i've just been offered one where the surround is beige but the switch itself still looks like the standard grey! If this is the only option i'll have to settle for it, but if there really should be a beige one I'll wait. cheers then. Baz
22. I definitely couldn't run my G60 or 1.8T A3 on standard fuel, in fact most 98's weren't great. Optimax FTW! I pretty much only ran my 16v's on 95 though, without any issues. The R32 only gets Optimax although I'm sure it would be fine without..
