Yep - take the handle out to test...

As long as the reflectors are good and the lights are clean then the 3 things that make a difference are - Lenses - replace if pitted Bulbs - use decent 'uprated' 55W bulks like Osram NightBreakers Loom - fit an uprated loom but make sure you get a good quality one. ---------- Post added at 1:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:26 PM ---------- As long as the reflectors are good and the lights are clean then the 3 things that make a difference are - Lenses - replace if pitted Bulbs - use decent 'uprated' 55W bulks like Osram NightBreakers Loom - fit an uprated loom but make sure you get a good quality one.

What!>?! Not present at all?? I can't see how things like this can happen nowadays with ABS test being part of the MOT Who changed the discs last? any history?

65Nm (dry)

It will be air - takes a few days to calm down... Just do a few lock to locks around a car park - should go within a few miles!

Veedubmachine rear disk, bearings and pads kit
Supercharged replied to GusPW's topic in Suppliers Forum
Yeah, that's what I thought - didn't make sense although discs are cheap from VW on trade... I'd rather go with Genuine bearings, carrier bolts then Pagid discs and Pads plus ABS rings -
Veedubmachine rear disk, bearings and pads kit
Supercharged replied to GusPW's topic in Suppliers Forum
Yeah seen these - ridiculous price seeing it includes genuine dics which are £15.85 + vat each from TPS I'd maybe just question the quality of the bearings as these plus the pads only come to £15 considering the price above. -
You can get A4 (marine grade stainless) but these are still only around 8.8 where the bolts used on brakes are 10.9's...
-
Guys - you can't change the carrier bolts to stainless - NOT strong enough for brakes or suspension!! New bolts should be used every time you swap discs - it's lazy garages and people just ordering discs from factors that cause the problem here, I've only ever needed to use the Irwins on one car to undo these, usually good socket and a sharp blow with a hammer cracks them undone after a soak in plusGas.
-
Yep - you need the Irwins and as above, deffo change the sheilds and stub axle bolts / bolt cover, this will most likely be the cause of the ABS issue!
-
Sorry - I saw it on HotUKdeals and signed up at work - voucher seems to work though and have used mine around 4 times now - they don't scan it, just manually take off the money so you can keep using the same code, just print a few copies.

Yep - this works, been using it for the last month!

Upgrade to 'Twist' Carpet Mat fixings (More Secure / Modern)
Supercharged posted a topic in Interior
Recently the drivers mat on my car keeps coming loose from the floor with the fixing to the floor still attached to the mat and being pulled out due to the hole in the carpet being worn / enlarged - this has been driving me nuts for months but I've finally got round to fixing it using the more secure 'twist' lock system from modern VW's / Fords etc. I actually bought the Ford floor fixings as they looked to have a more coarse thread than the VW ones and have worked a treat and were so tight I had to use pliers to screw them in. On the carpet mat side of things you need to pop the original plastic studs apart with a flat blade scredriver and, using side cutters on tin snips, make the holes slightly ovalised so you have about 1mm around where the fixings come together - these then clip together but I had to rest on the floor and push very hard to clip them together - I suspect the VW carpets are a bit thicker than the ones they are designed for and the fit to the carpet studs was also very tight. Maybe cheaper / free from dealer but parts cost a fiver delivered on eBay... examples of what I bought attached but just search for 'carpet mat twist or fixings' -
You don't have one and VW should know from the VIN!

Inlet manifold bolt kit vr6 1993 and others
Supercharged replied to swampy's topic in Suppliers Forum
James - can you hold off on paying for now as we're awaiting Mr Swampy's response to problems raised on this thread. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?80371-Anyone-know-Swampy Until these are resolved and people are happy he is banned from selling on here. -
He's taking the p1ss basically!
-
Has this still not been sorted???
-
Yeah they do that - it's a 'feature'
-
You've missed the TDI boat but no ones made a 1.4TSI 7 spd DSG Corrado yet mate - I reckon that engine and box would be a peach in a Corrado chassis ;-) Get on it!
-
Just buy new from VW, less than a fiver a pair - you're meant to replace then every time you change shocks and they rot / rust over time.
