If this is obsolete try getting one from a Sharan / Galaxy engine - use one of these before and it fitted fine on the Corrado
-
David - I've unlocked this for now at the request of Somersetdub as he's still awaiting a resolution to this issue...
-
Very nice indeed, good price too! So have you got it already then??
-
So there we go then... tbh I'd not even looked at these kits or the thread until today but this is maybe not helped by the fact the kits were not supplied with bolts, if they were then the mistake would have been easier to spot. I suspected this was the case when Somersetdub mentioned the larger bolts that were sent and thanks for measuring / confirming Swampy. Obviously yes it's a quick and easy fix if the ends are screw-on but how many sets were sold like this and fitted to cars that are on the road now!?!- are you able to get a load of M10 ends in stock so you can send out to people of needed? This maybe a one off but I think people need to be aware and need to check the cars asap as this could also be a serious safety issue!
-
Sold ? - to you? Good choice, really like that
-
Swampy - out of interest can you measure the banjo size / hole ID of these hoses and let us know what they are... I've just done a handlebar replacement / upgrade on a BMW S1000RR bike which involved extending a banjo connection slightly - the one supplied in the kit was for an M10x1 bolt and the ID of the connector was 10.03-10.05 according to my digital calipers (suspect it might be 10.0 dead in reality) and the bolt fit was snug with no play - how it should be! As Kev says, the only difference is the thread pitch of the bolts with the mk3 / mk4 ATE calipers so should not affect the connector ID
-
Swampy - can you refund that amount for the incorrect banjo bolts asap please including any postage costs.
-
Spot on - most VR plugs i've seen have loads of oil on either 1 or 6 or both!
-
I'm just going by when he posted on page 1 of this thread but I have PM'd him and asked him to update on here... not sure what he bought as on the brake lines sale thread he's asked questions but no reply in the thread so can't tell what actually happened. ---------- Post added at 8:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:32 AM ---------- What he wrote...

Uprated Headlight Loom £40 Posted With OE Connectors
Supercharged replied to james153's topic in Parts for Sale
How much for the connectors James?? -
Ah sorry, thought you'd fitted that already! Yes, fit that with a new stat and hosing - only fit these though if you have genuine VW parts - good time to get the charger serviced too (Not worth messing around with pattern parts when you have to remove the charger to fit them)
-
^ Yes, go for a genuine one - only one available now and is metal.
-
The way I read it that was his issue though - VW's use M10 fittings and the ones he had were 12mm so if you supplied M12 bolts to match then they obviously didn't fit as he stated - if this is the case then the hoses should have been replaced.
-
Hmm - it's not ideal but it should run ok with the matrix bypassed It's almost like the water pump isn't working - is coolant flowing round do you think?? Blockages are very unlikely unless you've found something that might cause it - like a broken pump impeller or parts of the stat missing?
-
Thanks for the update - what about Somersetdub and his issue with Banjo bolts??
-
Swampy - have the issues highlighted in this thread been resolved?? Apart from Ray there was a guy called Somersetdub who also has an outstanding issue with an order http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?80371-Anyone-know-Swampy Can you make sure these ordered are complete / resolved before you offer to sell any more parts on here please.
-
Swampy / Ray - any update on this????
-
^ Lol, me too - really like the Kirium bezel design - I like the ones with the older type red/green coloured logo too... Why did they drop that range - loved the design?
-
Yeah don't run without - will take ages to warmup and therefore the ecu will stick on the enrichment cycle using loads of fuel - will eventually kill the lambda probe. The HE is the silver box that the oil filter screws into - you'll see the 2 coolant hoses connected to it - basically if you get oil and water mixing then this is the first place to look although the issue you're getting is usually head gasket as exhaust gases pressurise the cooling system but you've changed it - maybe worth getting a garage to do a sniff test of the header tank to see if any exhaust gases are present.
-
You mean they don't work?? Can't be a fuse as other lights would be dead too but I would check/ re-seat the plug above the headlining (just unscrew the visor to pull down)
-
Yep, all in the manual... fuses 1 and 2 I think, 10 amp
-
Why are you not running a stat?? Could well be the heat exchanger
-
Engine bay dirt is nothing - must just be in a dirty / dusty / windy area that's all - if the factory wax has never been removed then it will clean up like new... Shame about the respray though in a way (unless it's been done very very well like £4k's worth...) - I'd have kept that quiet I think if I was selling a genuine 40k miler. Leather wear is normal - probably cracked from age and lack of use if anything. Looks worth looking at, nice and original and not too stupidly priced
