Yeah sounds like a plan, i suppose there could be hairline cracks with fuel coming out. Seems that at times there is more pressure than at other.
-
Fuel leak coming from the thermo switch that controls the fuel recirculation. I have checked the pipe and it is all good, i did have to tighten the jubilee clip (the crappy standard ones). However the pressure seems to be too much for it. Anyone else found this, or could it be something else?

Yeah looking good, personally prefer the look of my Miltek, however, if i was in the market i would be giving that some consideration

G60 random burning smell! only occasional
Rustynuts replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Engine Bay
Check that the belts are tight enough, could be belts slipping and causing a burning smell. I would doubt it is your charger, can't see how this would give off a burning smell. -
wanting to do some preventive/routine maintenance
Rustynuts replied to Bobert healetty's topic in Engine Bay
or get some mole grips on it, the torque should not be that high -
The G-lader is your main area of concern, get that rebuilt first and everything else should be ok. The 8v PG block is one of the strongest VW ever made and i think shells are all that normally need doing on the bottom end. Head wise i would look at a bit of cam action and flowing which should be helpful for a bit more power.

Looks nice enough but has to be the right price with the history missing.

Difference between 1.8t blocks (ie. AGU) and G60 (PG) blocks
Rustynuts replied to MattieG60's topic in Engine Bay
The valves are in the head, the head itself may match the bottom end in a different way to the G60 8v head. I can't see too may problems in thoery of running a 20v G60. The manifold would need to be reworked to have the throttle body on the opposite side to the 1.8t inlet, plus it is likely the charger will need custom brackets to clear the inlet. The above is conjecture and not actually how it may be. -
Yeah mine farts too, especially when its cold. Sounds like the car means business though and follow through (Sorry!!)

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive January 06]

Dark grey VR6 on the A449 near Worc today, looked fairly standard. -
No one has mentioned Scorpion, honestly really good, very very good, can't fault it really and thats why its for sale in the 'for sale' section for 50 quid. lol
-
Well your 1H is basically the same as a PG, i think the only difference is stronger head bolts and something slightly different about the head. Oh its also a slightly smaller CC.
-
Oh right, there you go then. Got the mids but they were blowing a bit. The only reason i thought they were not that good was because there was no seperate crossover on them
-
I was thinking engine mounts myself. If the car is producing more power then it may just have made itself apparent.
-
As above really. I have got some mismatched speakers at the moment. The mids are Kenwood Dual Mags which run with Macrom audio (yes prob pants) tweeters run off the Kenwood crossover and powered by 2 channels off a pioneer 4 channel 480w amp. Not a bad sound really. Will upgrade to some better tweeters at a later date, but the dual mags handle the power
-
87 Octane fuel, never heard of that. You can easily run a G60 on 95 ron, however it will be better on 97/98
-
The PG prob flows more to feed the the extra oil squirters and the charger. Try GSF or Euro carparts
-
Thats a bloody bargain, I better go and get one.
-
Looks like i need to get myself a electrical meter. Right better put that on my list and i will let you know how i get on.
-
The blue sensor is pretty new so am sure its not that. It may be the c/o pot as you suggest. Strangely it seems to be quicker when it is hot rather than cold. I also put it down to the chip i am currently using - a G force one. I don't reckon it is up to the job, though it is better than the SNS chip i was using, the spec of which was unknown but really did not suit the car. Not put the injectors on yet but that will be a job pretty soon.
-
Well that i don't know, never had the car properly set up, which really i should have done. However got plans for a FMIC and SNS 5.5 chip so don't see the point until I have done those and fitted the grey tops i have already sourced. I don't do too many short journeys, however the car does run rich when cold, i can smell it in the exhaust fumes. It maybe that i checked the plugs after a period of cold idle.
-
What Lambda probe did you use. I got a NGK one when i changed mine earlier in the year, not convinced its any good though as mine has 'moments' and the plugs are black (again!!) But its not overfueling like it does when it is disconnected.
-
Getting the engine back in without a winch is not easy, but possible using a couple jacks an axle stand and lots of swearing!!
-
Sounds like over fueling, plus prob timing being out. Which leads to suggest you need to check all the sensors. Usual cause of overfueling is the lambda sensor dying, broken wiring connectors or the blue temp sendor dead. Do a search, all this has been covered before.

the official everything-goes-wrong-with-my-rado day
Rustynuts replied to selbekk's topic in Engine Bay
The headlight thing is one of two things, crappy standard wiring meaning you can't see shit, and also the reflectors in your lights are probably shot too. Interestingly the effect you get when you pull back the stalk is something that happens on Mk2 Golfs, not noticed it on my C but it probably does it too, i have just become used to it. No idea why it happens though and when you upgrade the wiring looms it goes away
