now ladelkufter (i think) would be a lot more useful
-
Good god, yet more overpricing from the Stealers. Still for piece of mind i guess its worth paying
-
If i remember correctly the engine loom i seperate to the loom for the lights and other ancilliaries. So just remove the wiring to the engine and replace it with the G60 spec one
-
Bloody hell thats cheap
-
Right folks lets get really back on topic, what fits into the front of a G60?Really would be good to define a list with costs, make and part numbers. The best value IC will certainly get me interested.
-
Its more than likely that the ignition is retarding when it should not be, i can't think it would do any damage if you drove it forgivingly, but i am no expert and thats more supersition. Contact Darren and ask him what he thinks. Some people drive round in G60's for thousands of miles with timing out without knowing it!! Just check one thing, make sure he has not messed around with any of the pipework and a) you have got a boost leak, and b) put stuff back on the wrong way round, particularly the small air pipes that come out of the back of the throttle body. c) check the lambda is connected. All small things but can effect the running of a G60 quite dramitically
-
With the 1.8T you will have more choice and the engines are newer and likely to have less miles, if you want a G60 just buy a factory fitted original as they can be had for as little as 2-3 grand for a nice one
-
May well be that one of your sensors is on the blip, perhaps your lambda sensor is on the way out, or maybe air temp sendor in the air intake downwind of the intercooler is on its way out
-
Honestly don't do too much, you might be best putting it into a pot for a G60 or VR
-
I take it your in Spain, why don't you drive it carefully through France, get on the boat and when you hit land you are not far from G-man, get him to sort it out in probably 5 mins flat and then feel the power on your way to Cardiff
-
Looks like a bumper to me, most cars have them ;)
-
What you need is a FMIC with the in and out pipes on the same end, called a duel pass i think, that should sort you out
-
Check your throttle body to ECU pipe is 1m long, could be that the measurement is out and that your motor is not quite as bad as it seems
-
He was pretty mad then.......
-
Brilliant, will give that a try cheers

Well seeing VW have not built anything better since the Corrado was discontinued, it is the right choice. Shame about the Mk2 project, but at the end of the day there is always someone who has gone further with a Mk2. Corrado's are diferent, a bit more exclusive

The Golf Mag - 300BHP G60 (Well.. turbo'd)

This chap is on the forum, think his name is IHIG60 or something similar, i chatted with him at Inters, nice fella and good luck to him, his car is a beast -
Who takes their Corrado out on track? (or strip)
Rustynuts replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I would drive my Golf faster round a track rather than my Corradp, reason? Well it handles better, its lighter and most of all its is a bit of a shed so not to bothered if i break something. Know what you mean though, C's and G's can upset some more expensive kit -
Well whatever you do your motor will piss all over some faster looking machines i am sure
-
I would say fit a baffled sump if you have not already done so, with your engine spec you don't want to starve it of fuel. I am going to the TSR trackday at Mallory, not taking the G60 though as got the trackday 8v Golf for those shenanigans (Its pretty much as quick as my G60 anyway). why not come along and spectate and see what everyone runs and their driving style.
-
As it says in the topic title, how big is each item? Reason being is i need to work out how much room there is to use an alternative FMIC for my C.
-
I think that wheel looks poo, literally!! Mate of mine has put a Porsche wheel on his Rallye, the boss had to be modded though the exact details are evading me at the moment
-
Yeah, am looking at replacing the accelerator cable first i think. Seems that part of the problem i got is that the cable is worn and is giving poor pedal feel
-
Seems like my accelerator pedal is loose, it moves from side to side slightly. Am i correct in saying that it just needs re bushing?
