You ether have got the timing wrong or your lead order wrong,position no 1 on TDC,valves shut,pop off your dizy cap and look at the position of the rotor arm it should match up near enough with No1 lead

they are spot on,if you were a tooth out you would know.

It was not a straight swap over,but I used the motor inside the LDV one + the spindle was bigger so the fan blade had to be drilled out to suit.. thats it ! It was a new spare one lying about the workshops,but I will find out price first as it may not be any cheaper than a new one from GSF :wink:

I also fixed my heater fan motor by using a LDV fan unit !! How come I took out the fan in my Raddo and it was manufactured by Valeo and its made in France !! The LDV is made in GB but the fan is Bosch Made in Germany ! Go Figures.......

I'm just glad im a mechanic.. But most "mechanics" only deserve the title of "Fitter" that's all they are good for,let alone modify any car !

Don't know if this has been covered before so sorry if it has.... :wink: If you want to replace the blades of your Lupo wipers and don't fancy paying out near £15 a blade then here is an alternative...sort of. I went down to my local car factors and bought two 24" wiper blade inserts (just the rubber) Pop the end cover off the lupo wiper blade, one side has a tag that needs to be bent up and slide out the old blade and cut it to the right length of the original,slide it back in ,bend the tag down and clip the end cover on. That's it..£2.30 and it works great no more Juddering ! 8)

Don't give up now and send it off to a garage !! the only way you will learn by your mistakes is trial and error :wink:

You dont need to remove the top pully to check mark. use mole grips or something like that on the allen heads

As long as you dont overheat it again no damage should occur,if it gets hot in traffic ,turn your heaters on full blast. Check your pressure cap seal as they cause over heating problems aswell by not sealing.

56 offset....? are you sure they are audi with 5x100?

high hydrocarbons,can only get into the coolant system two ways,head gasket or a crack some were in the head,i.e. unburt fuel being forced into the coolant system. A compression check will show nothing relating to the oil pressure side at all,it wont tell you the gasket is popped either(unless major but it wont run) Renew the fan switch first to get that to work and go from there,do the basics
