  1. Holy moly! https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1359547
  2. Does look tasty that G60, even though I was after a VR.
  3. £4.5k I think it sold for. Bought for £2.5k. Spent way more than that though! 😄
  4. Got rid last time due to impending child! Shes 11 in Sept! 😲
  5. Buy a minter or buy a cheap one and make mint? I imagine buying one that’s already done will be ultimately cheaper.
  6. Aqua Blue VR6! This is mint but seems overpriced?? https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1323257
  7. I think it’s being over 10 years since Corrado-ness left my life but now I’ve got a lot of money ‘maybe’ for another one. Not sure to find a minter or one that needs work and get a minter that way? 🤷‍♂️
  8. That one you sold several months back looked a minter.
  9. Well it's been a few years since I was last on here but I just cannot contain this itch! I want a Corrado again!!!! I currently have a Fabia vRS II Estate (61 Reg) and my plan is to sell that and get a daily driver like a MK1 Fabia vRS (cheap to run etc) and use the remainder for a Corrado. I reckon I could manage £4k-£5k for one. Last one I 'restored' so to speak and spent a fair bit on it so this time I want one that's Minty Mcmint from the offset, or mint'ish. Reckon up to £5k would get this?
  10. No they're definately disks!
  11. Picked it up this morning from London, driven to Clacton. 61.2mpg and its only 120miles! Very nice and highly recommended! Off up to Robin Hoods bay (from Essex) tomorrow so should be a good test. Can definitely recommend the website I bought it from (although I did buy it from a dealer not the website!), saved me £2,500 in comparison to my 2 local Skoda dealers!
  12. Make sure its got the CR TDI engine in it and not the PD version.
  13. Well, just ordered this 10 mins ago! Not this exact one, a brand new one. Take 8-10 weeks for delivery.
  14. Oh and you can get much better finance rates (esp on PCP) with new cars, used cars cost more in interest. If I was buying outright then maybe but privately I couldn't finance it, standard HP would be too much on £17k unless its done over 5 years, which is too long.
  15. Basically I do have a bit of money to burn. Please read carefully as it explains my reasoning! I can keep the Corrado & the Kangoo (running 2 cars). I've worked out that with both insurances and repairs (esp to the Corrado) I spend a minimum of £290 to keep them going. This is before you include any engine rebuilds or superchargers to the Corrado which just for the rebuild works out to £250 p/m over a year! Then factor in that we were going to have to save up about £4k and swap her ageing Corsa for the family car and you can add another £166 p/m (over 2 years) to the monthly budget. Forgetting having to save up £4k for changing her car I'd easily spend £350+ p/m on the Corrado & Kangoo! I know I don't have to rebuild the VR6 but I would if I kept it! I am spending money on a car but rather than spend £350 p/m on a van for work and a nice Corrado I'd rather spend £250 p/m on a brand new Octavia vRS with no repair bills. Add in the fact a family 5 door, much safer car is needed now, then its a no brainer.
  16. My own money. £4000 deposit and around £250-£260 a month for 3 years. http://www.perrys.co.uk/seat-leon-2.0-1 ... /new/75435 http://www.drivethedeal.com - Know someone that has bought through these before. You actually buy from the dealer, they just introduce both parties. Stick your brief details in and you can see the prices online inc options. All brand new for the dealer. This is whos doing the Oct for £16,300ish with my options. My 2 local Skoda dealers couldn't come close.
  17. Well I can get both cars (oct&Leon) for about the same price (circa £16,300) so no difference there! One difference I have found thats maybe a clincher is that the vRS comes with the new CR170 derv engine whereas the Leon is sticking with the PD one until facelift time next year.
  18. Too small I'm afraid. Needs to be all family sized etc etc! Found a Seat Leon FR550 TDI CR170 for £13,050!
  19. Ok, the decision is virtually made (practicality and financial reasons) so don't ask! Yes this will mean bye bye Corrado! :( I've been looking all day at cars and going back tomorrow to have a closer look at 2-3 of them. Will do 14k miles a year so I'm sticking with derv but wanted a sporty version. Prices are approx as I haven't started that part yet. £17,000 - Seat Leon Fr TDI-170 £19,000 - Skoda Octavia vRS - TDI-170 £20,500+ - VW Golf GT TDI-170 (new one due in Jan) Going to properly look at the Leon tomorrow but the inside of the Octavia was very nice, better than the Golf. Need 5 doors too. Had a look at the Megane DCi 175 but interior was crap!
  20. Already got a mocal fitted. :) Crack pipe? :hic:
  21. Right I'm on my way to a rebuild now but the only way I'm likely to do it (as saving up everything in one go isn't going to happen!) is for me to buy the parts needed myself bit by bit and when complete get someone to do it all. I'm unsure on everything I need though, as well as what else is worth doing whilst its been rebuilt. Aim is for a rebuilt engine to take a stage 2 s/c reliably. Parts I'm aware of that need replacing/worth repacing whilst the works done. Pistons - My block will be re-used and rebored to a 'true' (is it???) 2.9, not sure on size I'd need but thinking about JE Pistons? ARP Rod & Head Bolts - Where can you get these from? Are ARP a make or the type? (Yes I'm that good!) Valves & 268 Cams - Want the head rebuilding too. ------ Still stuck on what I need for a rebuild. Help! ------ Clutch & Flywheel - Probably worth doing at the time, been told a Standard VR6 clutch can take a Stage 2 easily. Radiator - Mines fine but a fair few years old so think i'll swap this too Hoses - Already got a Samco Hose set waiting! :) Chains/Tensioners/Water Pump - Again, prob worth doing at the time Exhaust - Already got a Milltek Sports CAT waiting, just need the cat back system now. General Service Items - Obviously! Ok, what else? :)
  22. The 2.8 from VW was £2300 but not inc the head!
  23. Just spoke to VEGE and for a 2.9 VR6 with head it's £1710 inc VAT.
  24. Whats the difference on Eurospec between short and long block?
