Ive had the front off a few times now its fairly straight forward. I got it down now, gotta make sure you jack the engine up. I tried to use a ball end on a allen key but Its on very tight and I think it rounded a bit :gag: I bought a replacement rad support but its off an early car which has no PAS cooling pipe so I will need to modify it a bit

Had the daily off the road this week to sort this :gag: :gag: This is my ex rad support :shock: :shock: :shock: also I noticed a little gunk here, without taking the manifolds off I dont seem to be able to take the top of the 3 allen head bolts.. From looking at the pic below is it something to worry about? Im changing the rad also because I think its leaking

yea thats how it got it setup. I think i'll check the wiring on my crossovers to see if its all secure

the handle has a cover, you prise it off from the bottom with a flat head, theres 2 screws under there

cheers for the reply. Im using original wiring for the door speakers ( focal components) and tweeters with a crossover. Im not very clued up tbh, Im suprised I got it working at all :D but I found some wiring for the extra bits around the house so I imagine they arent that great

On my daily this has gotten really bad. Somebody has said they'd weld in some steel for me, Do I need the keep the holes in there? Or can I get something original this this. It seems to be a bad area for rust, I would imagine putting the holes in the new steel would just mean rust could find its way back in the future?

Im in a fairly advantageous position, I lent the wheels to a mate and hes sold the car and the new owner wants to keep the rimage :D

I didnt realise there were 16v aircons. I sounds like I should keep with a 16v rad, are slim line fans any good or not? I just want something new really as I cant be bothered to tread and paint the rust old brackets

not done much as I wanted on this :( spotted a tone of rust on the crossmember and rad support, they've gone but time ran out last night. I also got a bunch of bad rust under the battery. I was lucky and somebody offered to weld it up for me :D WIth the front end off I'll get the replacement wing on and I'll be happy, In that time I should have all my new wheels polished up.. ftw :lol: And hopefully a fresh MOT
