  1. Dont tell me that, i just ordered some 476s!
  2. Well once i have waxed it the finish should remain, it will just need regular washes then to clean the crap off. But yeah time well spent, although im hurting today
  3. Ok so i gave my car a detail today because i have ordered some Collinite 476s wax so i thought i would get her blinging and then put some of the wax on and then i can leave her for quite a while with just washes each week. I wont do a big write up and i have only takn pics of the after shine and reflections just to show the finish. The process was: * Car soaked in TFR and rinsed off using my new and fabulous Superspray. * Wheels cleaned with just warm water and shampoo due to being refurbed and not allowed to use acid cleaners on them * Car washed using Megs #00 High Gloss shampoo and a Megs wash mitt and dried with microfibre drying towel. * Clayed the whole car using a Sonus Green clay bar and Sonus lube. Then washed the car again. * Then i used Megs Step 1 Paint Cleaner to prep the paint for polishing, * 2 coats of Autoglym SRP (applied liberally!). * Then i used Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection which i hadnt used before and i was amazed with the results, it gave the paint a wet look shine! And thats it so far. My Collinite 476s was delivered this morning but nobody was in so its now at the post office which doesnt open until monday so i cant wax it so i shall give it a wash on monday and then apply the wax. But tomorrow i shall clean the interior, windows, trims and tyres etc to finish it off, but thats AFTER doing my mates beemer so i will post some pics up of that as well tomorrow night :D Anyway pics! Bonnet reflection shot: Roof reflection shot: Im bloody nackered now so god help me tomorrow doing my mates beemer! I will have to get him to do most the work  Cheers :D Rob.
  4. Yeah i thought i would bore them instead  I heard that you get free refills for life for that wax, so i suppose if you are a pro detailer who does a lot of cars for a long time it works out ok. I saw another video of him doing the same on an astra vxr so he must charge a normal ish price because the detail would work out more than the cars in the astras case  Top work though mate as always, and as always you have given me the bug to do more  so i am asking everyone now if they want their cars detailing (but without machine polishing as i dont know how to yet but i might invest in the famous Porter Cable one day and follow some tutorial videos on either a shit car or go down scrappy and get hold of a few body panels and scratch hell out of them )
  5. Yeah you are right mate, they are very long doors and like this morning at halfords i had to squeeze myself into the car, good job im skinny really  Mine is a daily driver as well so i will keep the side strips on. Im taking the rear badges off though :D
  6. dont think that will matter  Thats true :lol: Thats only at work though, this morning i went halfords to take advantage of their 3 for 2 offer on car care products :D and i parked in a normal space and when i came out i had to fcuking squeeze in to the car :x
  7. Awesome work as always 8) that aston looks fantastic, nice and chunky! I bet it was huge in the metal. I watched that guy on 5th gear that detailed that mc12 and he charges about £7k for a detail  but thats because he uses that pure carnuaba wax which costs £6k on its own  thats applied by hand and it something to do with the wax is an enzyme when in the tub and the warmth from your hand and the air act as catalyst which actually turns it into a wax, its not actually a wax until its on the car :? I dunno if its the same with the zymol Nath uses though.
  8. Ok i think i will keep the side strips as like said they suit the lines of the car and add protection from car doors etc. Plus i am not fully colour coding the car, i am keeping black grill, handles numberplate surrond etc so the side strips will go with these i think. But i am going to debadge the rear, just the corrado and VR6 ones first and then find out about getting the tow eye and vw badge removed and get them done. I think this will make the rear smoother to go with de-wipered arse. Watch this space then for fresh pics :D
  9. Ok then but what shall i do about the car   I have done a quick photoshop of the rear. Only rough and the wheels were old so i darkened them to look similar to mine lol looks crap but gives an idea i suppose
  10. Ok the wheel is all sorted now guys, you wouldnt even think it happened with the job he has done repairing it  he used a special alloy filler to fill it in then sprayed just that area and blended it in to the rest of the wheel and it looks spot on. He done it a few times as he werent happy at first but im happy with the end result. Anyway i have been toying with the idea of removing the side strips and debadging the rear. I want to smooth the rear bumper to remove the towing eye so dunno if its worth completely debadging it whilst i do that. Or i was thinking of a colour coded corrado badge on the back but thats all. What does everyone think? Remove side strips or keep them on? Debadge it or leave them on or colour coded corrado badge? Cheers :)
  11. Yeah the garage comes in very handy, not only for when it gets dark but with the cold weather it keeps the moisture and wind etc off the car when applying polish etc. I am doing my mates E36 BMW 318is M3 rep this sunday so i might pop some picks up if anyones interested

    Help.

    Not again
  13. Does nobody care then :( Only joking
  14. I think option 3 16's AND lower it imo
  15. I highly rate the Miltek exhaust system mate. Mine is cat back and isnt loud at all really, just a nice subtle burble on tick over and well im sure you know the story once you get over 3k in the VR  it sounds awesome :D
  16. Good to see some progress :D Them wheels are awesome, good choice imo 8)
  17. I travelled nearly 3 hours to get my C and almost drove 6 hours to scotland to get one  I think the right car is definately worth travelling for imo.

    205 or 215?

Kev also rates the Uniroyals quite highly doesnt he? My ex had uniroyals on her punto and although were only 175's it gripped bloody well and didnt budge in the wet!
  19. I have them coilovers mate and can vouch for how good they are. Road holding is superb and if you dont have ridiculously wide wheels with stretched low profile tyres they are comfortable too
  20. I think thats the wrong link mate as im getting the passenger ride in the VR6 turbo video from THIS thread :?
  21. Would that be yours by any chance Furkz?
  22. PVW is a different story though, i cant remember if it was the editor or someone else to do with the mag but he owns a number of VW's and has just picked up probably the most mint mk1 ever, as seen in this (or last cant remember) months PVW.
  23. Well as it was mothers day on sunday i thought i would treat my mums car to a good clean being the nice caring son i am   Its a silver '01 Audi A4 2.5 TDI Quattro and in the hands of me and my dad is an animal (although not as quick as my C but grips like a b*tch!) but in the hands of my mum is a daily driver which unfortunately is 99.9% of the time. Being a daily driver it very very rarely gets washed and it was a state and i couldnt bare it any longer so spent the weekend on it. The first thing i did was clean the wheels as they were black! I used AG Wheel Cleaner and a wheel brush and although it cleaned them up it sadly showed the real state the wheels were in which is not good, they are curbed and the paint is bubbling quite a bit in places. Luckily im very friendly with the guy who refurbed my rims so he will be sorting them out. I also washed the brown tyres with AG Rubber Care and then moved onto the body. Knowing that it hadn't been washed for ages i knew that it would have a lot of built up dirt so the first step was to let is soak in TFR and was then rinsed off. This removed the majority of dirt which i was quite impressed with! Then i washed it with Megs #00 Hi-Tech Wash and using a Megs wash mitt. Then dried with m/f drying towel. At this point i started something new which i will do from now on! Claying! I felt the paint after it was dried and it was very BITTY  so i knew it needed claying. I purchased a Sonus Green Clay and Lube package from cleanyourcar.co.uk. I used the green clay as it is ultra fine so i thought it would be best for my first time use. Although tbh with the amount of bonded contaminents (big words ) it probably would of benefitted best from a more course clay. Then following guides from both Neil and from Detailin World i clayed the whole car. I took my time and used plenty of lube whilst regularly re-working the clay to keepit warm etc etc and i was completely amazed at the results! I gave the car another wash after claying it and this is how it looked: I wheeled the car out and took some pics at this stage: I could of quite happily left it like this as it looked stunning compared to before but i cracked on after dinner. Wheeled it into the garage as it got dark whilst i had dinner and faffed about a bit  and first thing i done was use Megs Step 1 Paint Cleaner to prep it for polish. Then lashings of AG SRP (1st layer applied to whole car, left to dry and wiped off, then applied 2nd layer) After the 2nd layer of SRP was removed i then glossed the tyres with Megs Endurance High Gloss Tyre Gel and applied with a foam applicator. This really made the tyres shiny black and is supposed to last well so i will see how it does. This stuff also smells really nice :D Then i applied the 1st layer of Megs Step 3 Carnuaba Wax to the whole car with a Megs foam applicator and left to dry whilst getting a well earned cuppa then come back and removed it. Following day i cleaned the glass inside and out, cleaned all the exterior plastics with Megs Trim Detailer and applied a 2nd coat of wax, and finally it was done!! .... for now, gotta clean the interior soon as its a sh*t hole :( I didnt get a chance to take some finished pics as my dad grabbed the keys straight away and went out in it. But it just looks a bit better than the pics above lol. Next on the list is my sisters Golf Mk2 and my mates E36 BMW :) not quite Porsche Carrera GT's though  one day maybe  Cheers, Rob.
  24. Subtle mods suit the corrados best, i personally dont like any bodykits/side skirts/extra spoilers etc on a corrado but its not my car lol. Main mods are usually debadged grill, red rears, clear/smoked side repeaters, dewiper rear (looks SO much smoother!), passat door handles (delocked), 90mm splitter, as its black de-side strip, and then some tasty rims and lower it.
