  1. I have just found a guy on edition 38 with a golf highline who is running exactly the same wheels as mine and are actually running a higher offset of et35 and my fronts are et30 with 3mm spacers and only just clear 280's yet his sit in further and clear 288's :? :? :? Do the brakes sit any different on the golf hub or will it be exactly the same set up if i put the brakes on my C? Goldie, yeah i heard that the passat ones are a straight fit, saves messing around changing hoses then!! bigpants baby, are you getting them to sell or getting them for your C?
  2. That looks awesome Torsten! Where did you get the wheels from?
  3. Looks good. Yours hasnt got the beige/cream seat centres like i had :? that would of saved me some time, i had to paint mine all black.
  4. I use Autosol on my exhaust tip and it comes up a treat. I used to use it on my old motorbike frames etc and its really good stuff. I would imagine the autoglym metal polish will do the trick as well. I think Autosol might be a bit more course.
  5. I think you need to take the centre console off to get it out mate. Its easy enough to do though.
  6. Hurry up darren, i wanna see this beast! :D
  7. Well im pretty sure the valvers and g60's are the same body. The only reason the VR6 has wider arches is because they have a wider track. BUT best to find out for definate like you said you dont want a dodgy looking car
  8. Aren't the g60 wings the same as the valvers? I thought it was only the VR which has the wider arches etc.
  9. I got asked by Jim for some high res pictures of my car so to me thats a chuftie :D
  10. Blimey has it been that long  time for a change soon then  Because its such a chunk taken off he has got to fill it in and then spray it and blend it in (smart repair which is what he specialises in) with the rest to save spraying the whole wheel again.
  11. I dont kow about the golf one but the little flip down one from the passat has been done. http://www.corradocentral.com/cupholder.htm
  12. Jim, cheers mate! glad you like them :D yeah no worries i can send you whatever pics you want, PM me your email addy and i will send them. ziderapple, only if i was buffin them with a hammer and chisel!! No the real reason for it was that the wheels looked so tasty i took a bite out of one :lol: It will be sorted this sunday morning and whilst there he's going to show me a few tricks with a machine polisher so will be a good morning i reckon. And then back home to treat mummy's car to a detail :lol:
  13. Yeah true. I have put up a post on edition 38 so hopefully there is a golf VR6 owner round the corner who wont mind me trying them on.
  14. Thanks Glenn that has indeed cheered me up a lot! :D
  15. Now thats interesting but i just cant see it being less. Goldie measured his and it seems that it would stick out further UNLESS the whole lot sits in further than the 280's :S Like i have asked, i think the only way to find out will be to try my wheel on a car with them on. Would testing them on a golf VR6 with the set up be the same?? If so i could post on edition38 and VR6 owners club as well??? Goldie - Only stating the obvious mate :thumb right:
  16. Yeah it was quite unlucky and yep the language was fairly colourful  But atleast thats all that was done and like said if he turned any quicker or didnt react quick enough then it could of been my bodywork which would of been a shite site worse!! Luckily im quite friendly with the guy who done the wheels so i went round his earlier and showed him and he is sorting it out for me on sunday for nothing so im chuffed with that! I just helped get his computer running a bit better in exchange
  17. I have had mine since August 2006 so 7 months and still love every minute. I cant see me ever wanting to sell it, even when i got back to uni in october i will just put her in the garage and use a shed for a daily!
  18. Bugger  I overtook a forklift driver at work today and he decided to turn a bit too quickly and clipped my freshly refurbed wheel!! I am going to report it tomorrow and see if work will pay for it to be refurbed ... AGAIN!!
  19. That 2nd pic is AWESOME!! it actually gives the impression that the front wheel is bigger than the rears (in diameter obviously) but i guess its just because the rear has a mahoooosive dish
  20. Nice one! Does it seem much quieter/smoother at all?

If you want a good looking silver car then you should take a look at OSV's now old (:() corrado which is probably the finest example on the site imo. LINK TO HIS GALLERY
  22. The guy sounds like a right nob jockey  hope you get it all sorted out soon Nikki :)
  23. :oops:[/quote:c3e9d] :lol::lol::lol:
  24. Hello! I am looking for some VR6 owners with the golf 288mm brake set up and are not a million miles away from me in Northamptonshire. The reason being is i want 288's on mine due to charging it soon and needing better stopping power, but i have to space my wheels out just to fit the standard 280's under, bloody dish design  its not the size of the disc thats the problem as having 16's they will fit under easily enough, the problem is how far the the calipers and carriers stick out which even with standards catch my wheels so i had to shave some of the carrier off to fit them! Anyway i have been in conversation with Goldie who has recently put the setup on his (very lovely) storm. I took some pics of mine and some measurements and he then went out and took the same measurements and i think with a bit more spacing (withough going mad and risking catching the arches!) i could get them to fit. BUT before going and buying everything to find out its not possible i would ideally like to try and fit my wheel on someone else's car with the brakes already on, to see how much i would need to space them out! Goldie is quite far from me just to try a wheel on :( SO if there is anyone quite a bit closer then let yourself be known :D Cheers, Rob.
