Erm.... * Get the Charger checked / serviced as although it seems fine, I dont have any history for it * Fix Sunroof - the usual tilt but not slide problem (no hurry for this at the moment!) * Sort annoying noisy heater fan * Get bonnet painted as I'm not keen on the vinyl wrap Thats all I can think of right now - the smallest list I have had on a Corrado for a long time! :)

Most insurance companies will give you the oppurtunity to buy the car back where possible, after all it means they have to give you less money and they have not got to worry about disposing of your smashed up car! Personally I would buy it back and strip it for parts - you are likely to make more than the salvage cost or than selling as a whole. It just depens if you have the time / space etc.

I'm sorry to hear this Jamie. Would you be so good as to PM me your policy number so I can look into this and see if there are areas in which our service could be improved. I hope we can welcome you back as a customer in the future. Regards Martin

Could not agree more. I came back to mine after work a couple of weeks ago to find this: Its all sorted now but I spent ages finding the cleanest G60 I could and this was the 3rd time it has been hit since August, all in public car parks and not once were any details left! The person MUST have known they did it as not only would the have felt the bump and I'm certain had damage on their own car, but the alarm had also been set off! :( I'm always fussy where I park. I've since changed the car park I use every day to a better lit one with slightly larger spaces but unfortunately, due to the money grabbing local authority I have no option but to use them. -
Done :) Would your bracket work with the factory intercooler, or only if you had a front mounted one? I'm looking to get an oil cooler but was not planning on changing the intercooler at the moment.

This thread needs more pics! Anyone got my old nugget (H875 GJN), I would love to know where it is now and see some pics! :)

About time :D will look out for you! ---------- Post added at 7:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:59 PM ---------- I know mate, we've not had a lot of luck between us recently. Well they say things happen in 3's and thats the 3rd time mines been hit so hopefully that will be the last time! Have to catch up soon mate...stick the Brocks on your grey one! ;) ---------- Post added at 7:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:01 PM ---------- Hey Stu - Cheers buddy. Hows things? Hows your coming on? All sorted and shiny again now. Massive thanks to Dave @ Carro's Automotive (01799 543828) in Newport, Essex for sorting it. Top bloke, great job, great price and he even lent me a car to use while he had mine. :)

Cheers guys. Went in this morning and waited in the car park, found the car that had been parked to my left yesterday but they were clearly innocent as it was undamaged. Walked round every car there and found nothing with what appeared to be fresh damage (hard to tell at this time of year) or that obviously matched my paint. Unfortunately there is no CCTV either so looks like I will be paying for it. Although I could claim on my insurance, it will probably work out cheaper just to pay for the damage than pay my excess and have a claim against me. :( ---------- Post added at 7:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:38 PM ---------- nice one, glad you got them done. Had I found them I would have reported them too...they deserve everything they get and more! :)

Came back to the car after work today to find this: I spent ages finding the cleanest Rado I could and was so pleased with how clean this one was - thats the 3rd time its been hit while parked since I bought it at the start of august. The previous 2 times were minor and polished out..this clearly wont. :( Absolutely fuming, amazing how many people cannot seem to avoid a parked car in a large car park where you are only normally doing a couple of mph. No details left after each occasion, so many scumbags out there. I would recognise the car and driver who was next to me on that side, and the car park is mainly used by commuters who work in the town and many of the cars in there are the same ones every day so despite it being my day off tomorrow, I will be going in to wait and see if I can see the same car and check for damage....

Your license shows you have passed the required test in order to drive but insurance is based on risk and statistically new drivers do have far more claims. Thinking back to when I passed my test at 17, I have no doubts that I was a greater risk immediately after passing my test. I would come and go at all hours, have distractions such as friends and stereo etc which I would never have whilst under supervision. Like you say, it was only once I passed my test, that I properly learnt how to drive…including learning from some early mistakes! Based on what you have said, your personal situation does not sound typical of most new drivers as you are older and more mature (presumably! :D), so I can understand your frustration at being classed as a “new” driver. Despite working in the industry, I don’t necessarily agree with all the points made, however I’m just trying to give you a viewpoint from the other side of the coin as I get too see it from both sides (being a car enthusiast and driving a modified Corrado myself). I suppose I should also add something along the lines of “the opinions given are my own and not necessarily those of the company blah blah :D). Martin :)

Actually, this one does make some sense. Drivers on a provisional are usually considered a much lower risk than those that have recently passed their test. Obviously on a provisional licence you are accompanied and supervised whereas as soon as you pass your test you can drive about unsupervised. Other factors such as a provisional driver is unlikely to use the car as regularly, lower mileage etc can also be a factor. Passing your test does not immediatly make you a more competent driver, this tends to come through experience. Your missus may find, as many do, that her premium increases dramatically.

would you accept £30 posted? Presumably its the red colour as pictured? Cheers -
What are you doing man??? They look sooooo good on your Rado - you better have something good lined up to replace them! Awesome wheels - pic of them on my old red valver: :)

Yeah, I was sad too see it go and thought about keeping it for a daily but the wife was not too impressed having 2 sat on the drive! I had the afternoon off on friday so thought i would fit my BBM RSR outlet I bought at E38. The factory silencer looked like it had seen better days and had been glued together: removed factory silencer. A bit of oil in the pipes and around the charger outlet but not much. I've been assured this is normal and nothing to worry about (as long as there are no metal fragments in it which there was not). fitted outlet also found another split hose while i was poking about so fixed that too: The car pulls much better now so pretty pleased! :) on stage at E38 with workmate Lhotte's 16v: :)
