Hi mate, how much posted? And excuse the paranoia but is it definitely perfect working order?

I put up a wanted post recently for a vr6 cat, bought one and it has arrived and is basically hollow and effectively just a shell!! I have until friday to get my car MOT'd, does anyone in Surrey have a vr6 cat I can buy or borrow please, all getting very hectic!!

Im back! Its been ages since ive been on here, new job, house etc has meant that time has been pretty short but spending some time (and money) on the car again so thought id get back on here. I think its time for a new set of wheels, so that should be next on the list. Any suggestions?

does anyone have an image of the warning light indicating low level windscreen washer fluid for a new shape vw beetle (very random i know but i have my reasons)

i have finally got round to fitting new fog lens glass and have taken out (smashed) the old glass but am wondering what is the best method of fixing the new glass in place..i know there was a 'how to' thread on here at some point but i cant find it..any help welcome..thanks.

They look sweet on the beetle. Are they the lensos, rotas or even calibres? Or none of the above? Also what size are they?

How can you have a fake wheel???? A wheels is a wheel, it may be a cheaper, less well constructed wheel but it is still a wheel, and the extra weight etc etc is a compramise you have to make for paying a cheaper price, a compramise that shouldn't make you a laughing stock!!!

i think thats a real shame, not everyone can afford to spend thousands on expensive wheels but may wish to upgrade to something a bit more to your own taste, and as a result you become a 'laughing stock', sad really. As you said, personally i like them too.

my car used to do this all the time. I replaced the whole starter just to be sure. Out of interest why can you not bump the VR as I did mine 5 or 6 times and since fitting the new starter have you had any issues??

ill have a look, thanks. The issue isnt when the engine is hot though, ie from driving, its when the weather is hot and sunny, the engine normally hasnt been started for hours when it happens.

thanks, think thats what im going to do. Its not like its an expensive job. Is a new one the only way to go??

the issue is the fact that the problem is so intermittent. It happens very rarely and when it does happen its cured normally within 20 mins, everytime i take it to the garage everything works perfectly so they cant really test it.

its not turning over at all, nothing.

last summer, every now and again, the vr6 wouldnt start. All lights came on, fuel pump primed but just wouldnt turn over, nothing. kept trying and eventually it started, every time. Then the winter came and no problems at all, then last week after a weekend of sitting in the sun she wouldnt start again, identical porblem to last summer. Tried a few times, nothing, waited a while, tried again and she started. Im guessing as it only seems to happen when its sunny its probabally a sticking solenoid? does this sound right? if so would you recommend replacing just the soldenoid or the whole starter motor? Thanks.

that was me!!!! i beeped back! :wave: i rarely see many rados in Guildford, and i saw yours and another red 16v within the space of about 1 minute! pleased to have finally be spotted after about 18 months! nice looking C bud,if you are a regular aroung guildford i live in the town so keep your eyes peald! allso saw a nice clean white one today on the stoke road in guildford,gave me a flash,lowerd i think? :wave: thanks mate! yeah i live in guildford too so maybe see u about..

thanks for the info! maybe it could be linked to the ABS. I recently fitted 288s and had my local garage bleed the ABS system after so maybe something was done wrong? Although the ABS light comes on when the ignition starts and i can feel the slight bump through the brake pedal that your supposed to feel, i thought that was the ABS check? Read it somewhere on here! and surely any vibration/grinding would not come through the clutch pedal if its the ABS?
