I wouldn't mind some more info on the sports cat actually. Make/Miles etc. Pic's would be good as well

No meets in Cambridge really. There was a club called Fendubbers who used to have a meet every last Friday but I'm not sure if that still happens or not. Hoping my mate in his turbo'd Buggy will be able to make this as well now.

Much much worse! So how do you find the 335i? -
I have to say this is a really tough question, one I've definitely struggled with in the past and again more recently.... to be honest I even struggle with it now when I see all those nice cars on Autotrader and now I've maybe got a bit in the bank for a change after the years of house buying and being a grown up..... relatively speaking Personally, and completely in my own opinion, it comes down to that 'special' factor. And to me only a few of those cars mentioned seem special, and those that might be I think I'd struggle to justify the cost to get a really good one which is what it would need to be. But the Corrado feels special, and that's not something you can really put a finger on I guess but it does seem to get under peoples skin quite badly. My situation sounds similar to yours, only really use the car once a week (if that some weeks) so I don't need a sensible car so the Corrado fits in with my need to tinker/modify etc without having to rely on it to get around, or to have £10k+ sat on the road not getting used, and it's entertaining to drive with a great community of people to talk crap about cars to. I've definitely got a list of cars I'd love to own though, but those more aspirational than realistically attainable in the short term certainly. In fact I can't instantly think of something under £10k that I'd want to replace the Corrado with, or at least not without a huge amount of over thinking and probably regretting it! Good luck to you though and I hope you find something you really like.

True, but I'd like to counter that with... Mmmm new wheels!!!!

No pain, no gain!

Sure would mate, I've joined the FB group now so hopefully getting updates etc. Haven't been to enough local meets recently so this one and the one down in Essex are definitely on my to do list.

Looks rubbish.... I'd definitely sell those wheels ;) Seriously though, looks fantastic and sounds like you're getting so much closer to being back on the road. And glad the brake issue was an easy fix in the end even if it was a bit of a brain teaser! -
Don't classic parts only have left hand drive ones? My german isn't good enough to check their site.
-
Not sure if anyone is updating the list in the 1st page but I've now got VCDS and I'm happy to help anyone in the Cambridgeshire/surrounding area, plus if anyone wants me to bring it along to meets or shows etc I'm going to just let me know.

Sounds like an amazing machine.... I think I need to stop over thinking it and get a blower on mine....
-
Great scene setting, fantastic 1st post. Look forward to seeing how you get on.

I've got the Rota Forces on mine and they're very light (for 17's) but they're also very motorsport looking.
-
yep, use Vagcat whenever I need to find a part number. It used to give you up to date prices but now you'll find most of the Corrado stuff is obsolete :(
-
That'll be that then. You going to try replacing in situ?
-
Nice work. You can ignore the bearing play ones, they're meant to have a slight amount of play in them but knowing that seems to elude a few MOT's testers.

Any idea on the diameter of a VR bmc? I've got one for my 24v specific bmc that I'm happy to send as long as it's the right diameter. I can look at work tomorrow if you like or happy to send if you just want to try it.
