  1. Welcome! Sounds like you've got the right idea. As usual, get some pics up.
  2. Welcome! Good luck with your hunt, and get an ad up for the S3 as you never know.
  3. I'll hopefully be there this year, missed the last few.
  4. If you fine one near me mate I'm happy to bring it along to the national day.
  5. Does it need all the clips? Might have one in the shed but I think a clip or 2 might be broken.
  6. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/The-13-worst-cars-of-the-last-20-years-2013-10-30 A rare miss from vauxhall? ........ ;)
  7. You might regret that, some of us are a right ropey bunch! ;) Just read your thread and if I could get my manifold off for you to use as a guide I would. Top work so far.
  8. Not your fault though so I believe you can demand they fix it, irrespective of cost.
  9. I've got a mixture of Halfords pro and some Stanley tools that I inherited from my grandfather..... they're much older than me and arguably in far better condition....
  10. I was thinking the same Kev...... About it being Shaun's VRT that is, not your neon's and leather trimmed engine plastics.... I know you've kept those for the current motor! ;)
  11. good stuff, peel issues avoided then hopefully.
  12. Is it too late to whip them off before they're finished? I know nothing about these things but maybe worth the question.
  13. Exactly! Good work, bet you're looking forward to a drive
  14. Ah bugger, now I'm torn. I've got no centre to swap over and knowing my luck I'll end up not being able to get one...... I'll have a think.
  15. Is this just the wheel without the centre? I'm interested but I'd need the centre as well. Happy to do the group buy although I'm guessing there's people before me.
  16. Bilbo is definitely one of the safer autocorrects I've seen, but its a good one. When I did this I went to the dealer and got a full set of bulbs for the clocks, they're all nice and bright. I did dabble with LED's in the top bulbs but the light pattern was terrible, these are just right IMO.
  17. I'd put them in the car if I was you mate!
  18. Honest! Matt, it was dead easy mate. I just took the clocks out, took the old green filters out from behind the LCD displays, got some red acetate and cut to size, refit and job done! I've now got red and green clocks/switches/headunit. Maybe not to everyone's taste but I like it.
  19. How did I miss this post! Really excited about this, and might mean I stop messing with mine for a while. As Dan says it's going to be a track car and I think we're going to be able to do something fun with this. And welcome to the forum mate.
  20. As someone who got his old car back I'd say go for the green one. You know the car, you know it's a good 'un, and you know its history. Ok the colour might not be ideal but is it really that bad?
  21. Bad times, but by the sounds of it could've been much worse. Hope it's not too bad to get fixed.
