Always impressed at people saving these old cars. Good job bobby, looking forward to updates

Fair enough.

I'm not overly knowledgeable about these things but if it was running fine and has gradually deteriorated, you're getting fuel through to the rail, got spark, ignition is fine.... would a faulty fuel pressure regulator cause you an issue?
-
Yeah I've got wood stored already as we've got a couple of open fires, this stove is more for background heat. As suggested above, I've had a look at platforms that might be thin enough to erect in our alleyway. Has anyone used one of these before and how hard are they to assemble? http://www.hss.com/g/80200/Alloy-Narrow-Width-0.85m-x-1.8m-Towers.html

The gap between ours and next door is only about 2.5 ft which makes it tricky. Suggestions of stuff I can hire appreciated. I'll look at those telescopic platforms.

See this is what I was expecting, around the £600 mark. Tempted to get some roof ladders and get up there myself with a friend. No chance of a cherry picker or scaffold due to the location.

Kids eh?! Hopefully an easy fix.

Well that's why I'm asking. Had someone round just to quote to drop the liner down (already built the hearth, closing plate, stove in place etc myself) and I was amazed at the cost so wanted to get an idea off someone who does it for a living. For the record, he wants £1k just to drop the liner. Am I being unfair on him?

This is why I thought I'd get you lot to advise!

Anyone of you lovely people either a stove fitter or can recommend me a stove fitter in the Cambridge area? I need a spot of advice on a potential install Ta!

Stainless Radiator Brackets - a cheaper alternative.
mic_VR replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Received mine last week (sorry for late reply Dave) and they're perfect. Great addition to the car looks and maintenance wise. -
Finally got around to opening last weeks mail and I need to give mucho praise to daves16v and CazzaVR for sending items quick and both exactly what I needed. Cheers lads! :thumbleft:

Ok, more growth has occurred and it's looking pretty terrible now  Thought I'd do one with the lad to make it at least viewable with people getting too distressed. Thanks to those that have done so but please remember to donate if you can, it really is a fantastic cause and the pics are just going to get funnier.

Who is your recommended fitter with your insurance?

Uprated Engine Mounts - Vibra Tec Alternatives - SORTED
mic_VR replied to Jamie's topic in Engine Bay
Vibra-tec competition front on mine and I can highly recommend it. A few more vibes but I don't even notice anymore. -
Ah crap, that looks a bit wrong.

Well having almost been run off the road this morning by some complete 'tard in a van I now need to sort some kerbing on my Rota's and I heard that touch up sticks might be available for the Rota's. I've emailed them directly but no answer yet so thought I might see if you lovely people on here might know where I can get something? If not I think it might be a refurb, maybe in a different colour.

Right, 5 days of growth now.... starting to look pretty stupid but it's all in the name of charity so please sponsor. All appreciated and to a great cause. Anyway.... pic!
-
Yeah it is, I'd love to keep it as a run about but it's got to go really. Anyone?
-
Its been a few years since I've looked at a VR from that angle but that definitely doesn't look right. Looks like it's you rear mount that's causing the issue though
-
Given that you've got the right bonnet, the VSR was designed to fit, and you're saying the mounts are solid I'd put money on them either not seating correctly... as someone suggested.... or are you sure they are the correct mounts for the Corrado?
-
Yeah, she's not good with zeros..... Should be 130k.
-
Bad times Matt but damage not too bad by the looks of it. Get the cold hard cash from the other guy if I was you. If not, force his insurers to repair.... As is your right.

Not sure if anyone on here would be interested but selling the wife's mk5 now shes got something new Gumtree advert here http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/vw-golf-mk-5-19-tdi-2004-metallic-spice-red/1037767627 Damage was caused by her clipping the wall at work, no idea what it'd cost to fix but we've priced at over £1000 lower than list price to reflect this. If anyone is interested just pm me, would need to be close to asking price but reasonable offers considered.
