I know it's a volvo supplier but give them a try Here you go mate. Get a caliper off, measure the cylinder size and note down the make and these guys should be able to help you out. Got mine from here when I refurbed my mk4 rears
-
Nice one. I might be able to muster a few fellow VAG owners from around the area as well.
-
I'm not great on facebook myself but I'll give it a try. Is it any VAG? Would be good to meet up, i'll definitely be interested to see the differences in our installs. Plus it gives me an excuse to get the polish out!

Evening gents. I'm up for this, pretty busy in April but i think I'm free that weekend. Only 30 mins up the road from Cambridge.
-
For crying out loud Kev, get out of my head! Lol I'm afraid I agree completely. We won't benefit from this at all. Premiums won't go down, insurance companies will still try their hardest not to pay out, and Joe scumbag will still drive round without insurance and the biggest reason for this is enforcement. If the appropriate authorities had the resources to enforce the current insurance laws then they'd be doing it already, so unless they are also going to create the extra jobs needed to Chase people or collect/crush cars its just a bunch of useless politicians finding ways to justify the wages they are taking out of our taxes by creating something that looks and sounds good but has absolutely no tangible substance behind it. Here's to finding that £100k a year job..... hopefully.

I'm getting this now, what's the deal? Are the mod's vetting every single post?
-
Haha! Quality work mate. Silver?
-
Welcome, glad you like it here. Just need to start a members thread or blog now.

Just thought I'd say how nice it is to see the corrado love picture back in the forum banner. Don't think I've seen it since the new forum went live, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside..... Are all the setting/dimensions for banner worthy pictures in the new forum the same as the old? Maybe we need some new pics to put into rotation.

Anyone running all three vibratechnics mounts in a VR?
mic_VR replied to dkingvr6's topic in Engine Bay
I have all three. Competition front, fast road rear and gearbox. Yes they are a bit vibey (although the 24v is a lot smoother so no worse than a standard VR) but when you start chucking the car about it definitely feel more taught and responsive than with the old mounts. -
That'sh a keeper! (Goldmember stylee)

You'll definitely enjoy the noise of the lowly 24v
-
Gutted for you mate, but on the bright side you'll love a 24v conversion. You're more than welcome to have a spin in mine if you want to try before you buy etc! And I can testify that DG will do a spanking install. Surprised you didn't spot that it was running mainly on 3 cylinders as soon as you got it, must have been running like an absolute dog.

here you go Mic - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=74643&start=45#p919778 That's the one, cheers John. They look almost completely standard to me..... wonder what brake clearance they've got.
-
I'll be impressed if you can mate. I know we spoke about it a while ago and my 304mm's are painfully close if it wasn't for that inner lip...... Can anyone remember who it was who ordered those 16" speedlines... was a while ago but I'm thinking about them depending on offsets.
-
Here's how mine sit with standard arches. And I love how it looks but I think I'll have to do arch work to stop them scrubbing and that means losing the arch liners which I'm not happy about. Might put them up to sale and swap to something like the 15" MO's as like Kev says they'll go over my 304mm AP's ok. Decisions, decisions all the time with these 'rados!
-
Really? I think they look spot on. What are the dimensions on the current wheels? Is it a bit more poke you're after?
-
They all sound good mate, do you want to go light weight? The modernlines aren't light! If you're going for track wheels I'd be tempted to go thinner as it'll mean less stretch with a 205 tyre and a bit more give in the side wall. My 8Js are giving me rubbing issues which is why I'd like to move to 16s. As much as I love how it looks I like to drive it fairly 'enthusiastically' which doesn't help arch rubbing.
-
Love the schmidts (sp) myself mate, I'd go for some 7.5 all round if it was me. Good break clearance as well. Love my 17s but I'm tempted to go for some 16s myself at the moment.

Reaching the limits of my patience (and wallet)
mic_VR replied to The_Dude's topic in General Car Chat
Ah, bodywork is the ultimate issue when you're talking about any 16+year old car I'm afraid mate. I've spent a fortune on my car recently and really the next job is the rust on the rear arch and the scratches on the passengerside...... and I haven't even started searching around it with a fine tooth combe. best I'll say is that if the body is buggered its far harder to sort than mechanicals. -
I'm sure someone else has done it on here but can't remember who..... they also fitted the dash as well I think....

Stealth Racing Rolling Road Day - 1st May 2011
mic_VR replied to VR6Pete's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Bugger! I was only talking to CrazyDave last night about getting my car down to a rolling road day but I'm away that weekend...... :( -
Why you changing the cams then John?
-
That's the way though isn't it mate? Got my engine sorted and now the steering racks gone! Ah well, good to see it all up and running.
-
The ultimate swap shop by the looks of it mate. Nice paint, don't think I've seen that colour in the flesh before.... not a fan of beige interiors but then that's just me. Boy done good!
