  1. Can I have your 35R then mate?
  2. Calling all you guys who get your 'rados out on the track I'm interested in hearing what setups people are running. ie: I am currently running the Weitec Ultra GT shocks and springs (60mm drop) and I've done quite a few trackdays without any issues, in fact most people have commented on how well it handles both on the track and the road...... but that was with standard wheels/tyres. I'm now running 17's with 205/40 tyres on 8J wheels with an ET35 offset. And as the weather is getting better I'm thinking of getting back out on the track with my new racing brakes and 24v conversion...... but I'm getting rubbing issue at normal road speeds let alone throwing it into Riches or Quarry at full pelt! I'm already thinking get the arches rolled, and somehow sort the wheel liners but I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do. I don't really want to raise the car as I think it looks the nuts, so I guess I'll be thinking about something height and damping adjustable to stiffen everything up for the track. So what you all using? If people could post: Suspension (type, height, damping etc), ARB's, Wheels, Arches, Lowering etc that would help. Cheers Mic
  3. My Tacho, Oil Temp, and MPG don't work at the moment so I've taken to watching the clock..... or the road....
  4. Try the boys at DG autotech, got my full set from them so I'm sure they can get them. I've got a race front and fast road rear & gearbox. I love them but some just go fast road front and mk 2 golf rear & gearbox with a standard engine.
  5. Cheers, that's with an induction kit and a 2.5 inch straight through exhaust. The fly-by-wire throttle is pretty good on mine. As part of my Revo stage 1 DG mapped the throttle response to get rid of the jerky on/off nature of the standard pedal so it's all nice a smooth now. Agree with Coullstar, no point making it a 2.9 as the 2.8 with a simple Revo map like mine should be 215bhp easily, maybe more with the exhaust and induction. As for fuel economy, mine is almost the same as when it was a 12v. I'm averaging 31-34 on most tanks, up to 38mpg on long journeys and at worst about 23-27 if I'm driving pretty enthusiastically a lot. On the trip to Castle Coombe last year I averaged 29mpg driving from Worcester to Coombe, doing a track session and driving back so I'm really happy with it.
  6. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=54215&start=225 Try my thread mate, I think it sounds pretty good..... but I am biased!
  7. Love my 24v conversion, only the 2.8 but it's got the low down grunt that just makes the car feel a bit more lively and modern. I had mine done by the boys at DG Autotech and they've done a brilliant job so I'd highly recommend them. Similar price in total to Coullstar's but I sourced my own engine, loom etc then DG fitted it and made it all work. I also had some extras fitted to mine at the same time so its probably best to give them a call to discuss your options. If you're not particularly attached to the car I thought someone was selling a 24v Converted VR recently??
  8. Fair enough, although I'd guess with originality comes the issue that stuff will need to be done. A modified example might already have paint/wheel sorted. Good luck with the hunt, how long without a C was it?
  9. Good work, sure this will be useful for anyone thinking of looking. Money sounds like the issue. So what are you after exactly Mr McCrotch?
  10. Right, anyone want my car? Details in my Sig. I'll take £3.5k with standard wheels & brakes or £5k with the Rotas and APs....
  11. Argh! Will you lot stop going on about 4motions and S3, you're giving me bad ideas....... again!
  12. Keep the VR, yours looks like a good example. I've been thinking of something else recently but went for a drive at lunch and although its not running quite right it still put a smile on my face. Why do you want a change?
  13. That is a very upsetting thread indeed. Makes me want to either, 1) Get a good quality roll cage fitted, 2) Only ever go out in the dry, or.........3) sell it and buy something with Airbags and an NCAP crash rating!
  14. Great idea this. 1.) Has to be Wullie's ant massacre tips thread. 2.) Best show, this year and last year, has to be BVF. Quickly becoming my favourite show of the season. 3.) 3 best Forum Corrado's - Very tough as there are so many good ones now so I'm going to stick to ones I've seen in the flesh... - Kevhaywire's VRT. Such a complete car, power, handling, everyday drivablilty and built at home. And a massive inspiration for my own car.... he should have kept the Rota's though... - Kris' VR6. Standardy goodness, straight and simple and gorgeous with it. And a thoroughly nice bloke as well. - CrazyDave's VRT. Smooth useable power all day everyday. And on first glance it's just a normal VR6, until it spanks you when you're trying to keep up with him! 4.) Got to be DG Autotech. The only people I deal with these days and it's a 250mile round trip everytime..... must be doing something right.
  15. What is it with all these Corrado owners looking at other cars at the moment? I must admit I've got a real hankering for something else right now as well. Not sure whether it's because the C is playing up a little at the moment, or the fact I've had it for almost 5 years now, which is about 3.5 years longer than I've owned any car! I do like the look of the Lotus, but I'd probably be looking for a good low miles TVR Tuscan S for that money if it was British you wanted.
  16. Yes I know, that's my point, I don't want a 'normal' MK4 because they look dull. Sorry, but they do :D 100% with you Kev, the standard MK4 is a dull looking car. If I was going to replace the Corrado I'd be looking at a 3.2 Audi A3, same engine as the mk5 R32 and you can pick up a low mileage one for around £7k at the moment. Bit of a lowering, some new wheels and I think they look pretty good.
  17. Finally some snow in Cambridge. Not much but this photo must count..... surely!
  18. Nice C, which are the newer pics? If it's currently rolling on Silver Avez's then change them back to black immediately, looks so good in that last pic.
  19. Typical, a little bit of snow and the post office packs up..... oh well, when they do come it'll be like getting an early Christmas present! Now stop wasting time with excuses Alex and sort us out another podcast!
  20. heard the same about the DS3000, eats the finish on your wheels unless you wash them after every trip out. 0.72 is just insane, it must be like hitting a slightly forgiving wall!
