  1. Hi,

Here is my 2.0l 16v 9A Corrado for sale. It is a '93 aqua blue pearl that I've owned for over 7 years. It has been an amazingly reliable car, especially for its age and mileage, 212,000. The only time it really gave trouble was when the lambda sensor failed. It is amazing how much of an effect they can have on the engine management.

The car has just failed the MOT on emissions and i've decided it is time to either spend some money on the engine and paintwork or to let it go. The garage are encouraging me to keep it going as there is no rust at all underneath, just a bit around the rear window. All it needs is a cat to get through the MOT. The engine still pulls well though is a bit lumpy when cold and uses some oil and water. It has a Magnex cat back stainless steel exhaust, RS4/TT replica alloys and I put in a new windscreen this year.

Anyway, as I've no drive or garage to start a project myself it has to go one way or another. MOT runs out on 02 December so can be driven away until then. If you are interested in a project let me know by Friday or it will be off to the breakers.

    I'll add pictures this evening.

    £750 ono

    Thanks,

    Robert

  2. Hi Max,

I have a 2.0l 16v 9a aqua blue corrado that has just failed its MOT on CO2 emissions. I'm trying to decide if I should scrap it, as the engine needs new gaskets, or put a new cat on it as the lads at the garage were really impressed how solid it was for the age. The chassis has no rust at all.

I'm in Bristol so thought I'd check if you would be interested in a whole car to strip for parts.

Let me know and I can send you a pic,

    Rob

  3. Hi Chris,

I'd like to take the switch off your hands. Can you pm me with details of where you want me to pay the money and I'll reply with my address.

My switch broke this evening leaving me driving home with just hazard lights on, so if you can send it as soon as you can I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  4. Hi,

My car is doing the same thing. If left overnight it will drive for a few hundred metres and then it will lose all power. It will just about tick over but no power to drive.

Were you able to figure out your problem or does anyone on here have any ideas what it might be.

    Cheers,

    Robert

  5. "Basically car has been making a grinding/rubbing/scrapping noise from the rear wheel"

"is very noticable at low speeds

"can mainly hear it when in the car with windows shut"

    Hi,

I've had all the above symptoms and the noise also goes away if I slightly touch the breaks or slightly pull the handbrake. I also had my rear brake discs and pads changed anbout 1000 miles ago.

I was just wondering if you ever got a solution to this noise. Would also be grateful to anyone else who knows the answer.

    Thanks,

    Rob

  6. Hi,

I have found this engine for sale but do not have much technical expertise, so I hoped some of you could help me.

I have spoken to the seller and this engine is supposedly ready to bolt in and has a BHP of 185 but that was in a MkII Golf. but I have a few questions. Will I need to get the engine remapped or buy any parts as a result of puting this engine in?

Will this engine be easy to use day to day, idling problems, fuel consumption etc?

And will it be a case of maintaining it like a normal engine or would it require frequent checking and adjusting?

Also, Is the £1000 pricetag as reasonable as he says?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Rob

    9a Bubble block 2.0 litre 185 bhp.

Due to a change of plans (the race series I want to run in will not allow a 2.0 litre) I am selling the 9A engine from my mk2 Golf. The spec sheet is huge and the parts alone cost £1850.

    The spec:

9A from 1994 Corrado, stripped and checked over with new parts as required, incl brand new gaskets.

    Baffled sump

    Windage tray

    Brand new oil pump

    Brand new water pump

    New cam belt and tensioner

    Kent vernier cam sprocket

    Brand new cam chain

    Adustable vernier on exhaust cam

    258 Kent cams

Stage three ported and polished head

50mm inlet manifold, ported to the head

    New injector rubbers

    Ruhr pipe

    Drilled airbox

Stealth modded WUR and metering head

Also included but not shown in the pics are the alternator, K&N filter and all the injection pipes.

To fit all you will need to do is put some engine mounts on (I need those for my new engine), spark plugs and set up the dizzy.

The dyno figures show 184.5bhp at 6547rpm and 149.6lbft torque at 6309rpm. The power curve is completely linear, whilst the cams give a noticeable boost in torque from 4300rpm.
