    O2 sensor

In my experience lambdas very rarely go wrong with the vr6, maf's on the other hand go all the time and they make lambdas throw up a code. I'd always check the maf us working before looking at the lambda sensor
  2. I'm not ure how auto is wired up and what it connects into, if I get a chance I'll try look into it. As for lambda wiring there will probably be a heat shield over the plugs, it's on top of rear engine mount, best of luck getting the lambda out, I was trying all day yesterday to remove mine!
  3. The brake servo is an absolute nightmare of a job!!! I think the pedal box has a little bit of moment left and right, mine seems to be as far over to n/s as possible so the lip on the inside of the master cylinder catches as I try pull it out. If you've taken all 4 bolts out and disconnected it from the pedal its just a case of pulling in different directions until it comes out, I was near picking up the biggest hammer nearby and smashing it up before it came out. As for removing wiring, you've got the 3 plugs next to each other to remove (F, G1 & G2) then the windscreen wiper plug. You then have a couple of other stray plugs to remove, what I tend to do is remove the main ones and ones I know then pull, obviously any other wires connected up will snag and you can unplug until the full loom comes out.
  4. Yea of course on both counts, when will you have the first one done?
  5. Well judging by other people's figures should be something between 260-280bhp, should be fun!
  6. Yea spoke to him, thought I'd get the thing working first! Bought a new ecu so that should arrive Monday and it will go straight off to vince. Manifold is done so should get fitted and everything else finished up tomorrow ready for ecu to return. Can't wait now!
  7. Me please, also my radiator is currently out if you wanted to trial fit them? Don't have a fan yet though, that's the only thing I don't have SwiftKid - dave
  8. Well ECU is knackered so on the lookout for a replacement, bit gutted but thats just how it goes. Decision time as to whether I buy a mk4 R32 ecu and change the fuel rail or don't complicate things and try find another A3 ECU that are more expensive...
  9. You got it drawn up Chris? Sorry just haven't had chance to finish up my drawing yet. Can I get 1 please
  10. You could always buy 24 and put them in a 24v ;-)
  11. It's a total of 12, 2 valves per cylinder. I think you can raise the limiter slightly without changing the valve springs but not sure how far you can go. I wouldn't like to test it, a snapped valve will ruin all your hard work. I'll be watching this though, never been something I've thought of doing so interested to hear about experiences and gains
  12. With my luck nothing is simple! But at least one major headache is nearly done, exhaust was my biggest worry! If anyone is interested, I've used original A3 manifold (same as mk5), cut the flanges off the standard VR6 manifold, left part welded straight on, right half needed altering as shown but luckily had an exhaust lying around from my old suzuki swift that was exhaustly the same bore!
  13. Its not the prettiest thing in the world but it will do for now! Just need the lambda bosses welded in, hopefully tomorrow then get it fitted. Well as for ECU, i'm getting it sent to vince hopefully tomorrow then see where that leads us. Guy hasn't offered anything for the ECU, just told me its knackered and he will send it back with a refund. Doesn't really help the fact I am now left with a possibly knackered ECU. 14. I'll definitely be going, just whether or not it's in a corrado!

    R32/tt fuel rail

That would be great if you have got 1, out of interest why did you convert back to a mk5 rail? I've got a mk5 rail and seeing as my ECU is now knackered I thought I might as well go to a mk4 rail, didn't really want to go cutting up my fuel line.

    R32/tt fuel rail

Bit of a long shot but just wondering if anyone on here has an r32/audi 3.2 fuel rail with built in pressure regulator for sale
  17. Well just had a message off the guy doing my ECU and apparently its now as much use as a fine cutlery set whilst free-falling from a plane, to say I'm p***ed off is an understatement. I'll be calling Vince at stealth tomorrow in the hope he can fix whatever has been done. I had hoped to drive this to GTI inters, looks like I've just had the nail in the coffin though.
  18. Did vr6 get kicked off the team or did he leave? I completely agree with him on that thread, shame to see such a long time member leave because of 1 person trying to get round the rules
  19. I enjoy got 288s on at the moment and they are good but not amazing, looking for some 4 pots really but wanting to keep 16s. Hopefully things will start to happen quickly, trial fitted the exhaust and it's tight but fits! Will do until I can get a proper one made up
  20. I'm going Saturday and Sunday, hopefully in my r32 rado
  21. I'm going to Gti inters matt, can take it with me if you want
  22. Yea, I've had some good news about the ECU this morning so hopefully I'll have a working one back soon. I've booked my tickets for GTI international with club stand, its a tall order but I've had less time before and made it! Yea, its been a long haul and lots of heartache but its getting there! I wanted to see how far I could go with VR6 in terms of things I could do on my own, never trusted people to do any work on my car as its always rushed and half-arsed. I'd really like to turbo the VR engine so thats the long term plan, maybe look at getting forged internals etc. Yea managed to get a few connectors from scrapyard fla but thanks anyway, bought all new pins and crimping tools so all wires are nice and neat! Just need a few male and female plugs to join near the offside so will be nice and OEM instead of long wires going directly to components. Can't wait to drive it though, still on the lookout for some new wheels though and of course bigger brakes! Missed out on some stunning OZ futura's in 16 the other day because I accidentally typed my bid in £'s instead of euro's on german ebay... gutted was an understatement!
  23. Well this happened... Then this. Just waiting on my ECU back, the guy doing it is having some problems with it at the moment which is worrying me massively. Manifold is getting tacked up tomorrow to test for fitment so things are happening! Hopefully will be able to give it a try in the next few weeks
  24. Erm well the top sort of pushes over and see the little 'tooth' underneath, that just clips into the beam
  25. Havn't had chance to finish up the brackets but I've been using revotec website: http://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Blowing_Fans_-_Slimline.html It has dimensions for the fans on there, just taken a quick look on spal and they look similar dimensions. Might need slacker fit holes but when I get a chance tomorrow I'll check
