    Red vr

Sounds good but I would be very concerned about the water in the footwell, I would hope it is the heater matrix because if it isn't there is a chance there is a rust hole at the bottom of the windscreen. When I took my windscreen out I needed that area welding up, I do know of another person that has the same problem as well
  2. Well you can at least fit them and see, if you don't like them at least you've tried them!
  3. Rang a few places and keeping my eyes open but still no closer to finding one, every one I do find seems to have bits missing and parts broken
  4. 225/35... brave, I'm running 16x9 215/40/16 all round with my arches rolled and they rub. Et15 on rear, et20 on the front. Its not unheard of to run wide 17's but without arch work you will have to either run monster truck stance, tuck them pretty well or suffer with some scrubbing. Will look forward to see some pictures though!

    ODB1 lambda

Maybe wasn't very clear, all you need to do is unplug it and it should change engine note straight away without driving it, it should start to struggle only for a few seconds if that.
  6. Nothing constructive to say unfortunately but I need these as well so adding a response so I can find this thread
  7. Sorry mate, didn't have chance last night and tonight was of course valentines so we had a nice romantic night and went to watch die hard :D I'll give you a text and pick it up this weekend if thats ok mate?

    ODB1 lambda

Whats it like setting off from a standstill? do you find you have to lift the revs a little, is it stalling at all when you dip the clutch or slow down? I'd start with MAF, very simple test and starts you in the right direction, I think I've probably got an OBD1 lambda sensor I could sell but like I said, I highly doubt its the lambda sensor. Is your golf OBD1 or 2? and is it plastic 4 pin MAF housing?

    ODB1 lambda

I would imagine Rado. But when my MPG drops I usually look towards the MAF, the later 4 pin MAF's are pretty cheap but you could always try clean them up with carb cleaner. My rado was getting 220miles to £60 before I took it off the road, it was getting more when I was driving it like an old man!

    ODB1 lambda

Yea, get it up to running temperature, and simply unplug the maf, no need to remove it just simply unplug and see what happens. What usually happens is that the maf screws up and sends the fueling crazy, the lambda then attempts to control it as necessary, which sends it over the regulation limits and the car then thinks the lambda is at fault so up pops the error code.
  11. sure thing, I'll take it then. Whens best to grab it off you? you still working in woodmansey or dunswell?

    ODB1 lambda

You definitely sure its the lambda? From experience it is rarely the lambda and more frequently the MAF. Try unplugging the MAF whilst its up to full running temperature and see if the engine note changes
  13. Ahh yes, forgot about TT's, not sure how seeing as first engine I bought was a TT one. Thanks Kip. Yea Sam, going to give it another go but this time will finish it off, the rado is no longer my daily so I'll be able do the conversion and make a good job without rushing anything. Really looking forward to getting an engine now and getting cracked on :)
  14. Do I get any discount because I think you still owe me a boss ;)
  15. The last R32 engine I bought off edition38 I got severely ripped off with so i don't really trust people on there, hence why I'm posting here. Ebay seems to be full of overpriced engines, half burnt ones or ones with half the parts missing which following on from previous experience I will never ever buy another engine with anything missing, just ends up in stress and a very sore wallet
  16. Hey everyone, trying to join the 24v club but having trouble finding an engine, where are the 24valvers sourcing their engines from? Don't want to get ripped off from someone or pay over the odds for the engine either.
  17. You can use standard hoses from the golf, what Goldie meant was that people sometimes like to use goodridge for the swap. Just make sure they are banjo fitment, ie. they have a hole where the brake caliper bolt goes through as opposed to a hose that has a thread on the end that screws directly into the caliper
  18. Of the handle or the mechanism? Havn't got any of the mechanism because its all hidden away now but got these of them being done and finished article:
  19. Yes, I have them and any bodyshop that can weld SHOULD be able to do it. I made the linkages with a little jiggery pokery. I used passat door lock mechanisms, they are the same as a corrado but larger striker area, drilled a hole through them then bent a metal rod to fit and put a stopper on the end so when the handle was lifted it pushed the striker et voila! the mechanism is VERY close to the window so if you do it make sure you check clearance as you are installing it
  20. Do they not still sell them at the dealers? Thats where I bought mine from, pricey, VERY pricey but after you have recovered from surgery on your wallet they look mile better!
  21. Looking good, lists are always a bad idea lol... mine started off a few things then ended up a long list! I have a spare aerial gasket if you want it, its not perfect in my eyes because I'm a picky git but its brand new and unused!
  22. What you mean in the process lol?! Just realised you'd snuck a few good speeds in so I went for a drive tonight hehe. Made it to 188th in the world on one of the camera's!
  23. Spotted one parked outside the trophy presentation at RAC this weekend, looked pretty nice.
  24. Well I had her rolling roaded the other week and to be honest I was a little disappointed with the paper figures, the modofications I have are OBD2 conversion, 263 cams, BMC CDA, 6 branch manifold, sports cat, full stainless steel miltek system, not a massive list of modifications but I was hoping to see 200bhp with them. Sadly only managed 193bhp but it was better than 150bhp on the first run. The power curve was very good after a few initial problems due to me being a complete moron... but we shan't talk about that. After it had been remapped (and back up to full power) it really does go well, it seems to start pulling strong from about 2-2.5k and continue all the way around. After I had taken it for a spin and felt the power range I was soo impressed, Vince did say that OBD2 won't produce the most amazing figures but it delivers the power a lot better in the mid range which is where I want it.
  25. Went all the way to Kettering from Hull then onto Stealth Racing a few weeks back and didn't see one rado apart from the 2 at stealth. 4 years of corrado ownership and I think I've had 1 confirmed fellow corrado forum sighting, I must be doing a good job of hiding or something lol
