  1. afraid not pete, my moneys gone out my account. But I will try egg people on... come on guys, treat yourself! be the hero haha
  2. It really isn't, I got mine for a bargain price after I managed to source most parts together... and I'm fairly sure I still paid more than that. If anyone is looking to go obd2 conversion, go on ebay type in each part individually and I'm betting it will be more than £300.
  3. I believe so as thats what I'm planning on doing, when I ordered mine vince made a note that mine were mail order
  4. Well I have literally been tearing my hair out about this/these bloody wires because I cannot understand where they came from. Thankfully today after scouring wiring diagrams I have found that they are: -Red/Black wire from the auxillary water pump, goes through the 42pin connector in position T42/31 and I believe needs to be joined to a yellow plug behind the fusebox along with the next wire, which is: -Brown/Red wire from the yellow temp sender in position no.1 that goes through the 42pin connector in position T42/9. From what I understand, a yellow 2 pin plug needs cutting off the corrado loom and soldering to these 2 wires. The 2 wires from the corrado I believe are a brown/white and a red/black. I'll double check this when I can be bothered, got fed up when I realised i had cut the wires just behind the header tank bottle.
  5. Well I manned up and paid deposit this morning, not sure why I'm bothering though, shes being a real bitch at the moment! lol
  6. Have you taken the dash undertray fully off? That way its a lot easier to access the rear of the fusebox. I would check your earths, sounds very weird soo many things have gone wrong at once. Might help to know what car you have and what age though
  7. I am utterly confused! I'll put the facts down and hope someone can make sense. The diagram you sent me has an arrow from v50 water pump and f87 after run. Am I supposed to be finding those wires? It states they are brown but mine appear to be brown/green. Also on the large multi engine plug it says the brown wire should be in position 2 but thats a white/blue wire. There is a yellow plug behind my fusebox not plugged in to anything, there is something on the obd2 conversion thread about putting a connector to it from the auxillary water pump and temp sender. Are these the wires you are talking about? On my auxillary water pump I have a red/black wire and a brown/green wire, is it the red/black wire I have to follow then put the new connector on along with the wire from position 1 on the yellow temp sensor plug, which is supposed to be a brown/white wire but is actually a brown/red wire. The thread also goes on about moving some wires for the mfa outside temp sensor, mine is working fine so is that something I can disregard? Sorry if this makes no sense, I'm a little hungover and very dazed from staring at wiring diagrams
  8. Hey, finally had a second to have a look at this but I'm unsure of what I'm supposed to be looking for. Those diagrams you sent me highlight brown wires and a blue/white one but no mention of a red wire. Where does this red wire come from and in the obd2 conversion thread it mentions about 2 wires that appear to be a brown and a red/black, which wires am I looking for and where do they come from? Obviously its a major pain because its all in and wrapped up so ideally I want to do as little removing as possible. Am I searching for a brown wire from the yellow temp sensor and also following the red wire from the thermal switch (3 wires) in the radiator?
  9. Just a thought might be worth stating what stud pattern, I'm guessing its 4 stud due to your username but just to be clear. Borbet B single piece only come in et15 in 16x9 I believe.
  10. are you using the C spanner?

    Ice Violet VR6

I can honestly 100% advise just looking for a working car, I bought a car with the engine in bits and I've ended up spending an absolute fortune on it. I'm over the moon with how my car has turned out but looking at the price of corrado's now you could probably pick one up for about £1500.
  12. That's the harness he's after Tom, it's 100% different from obd1 as it has the throttle body plug. I've always wondered what the difference between a late obd1 fusebox loom and obd2 loom is, I should be able to find out soon enough... to the benefit of all late vr6 owners :D
  13. Yea sounds good to me, well best of luck with that. Will all be worth it when its done, just make sure the auxillary water pump runs fine as mine still isn't working and i've got to figure out what wire I've missed out!!! But yea, if you need any bits give him a call, he's a top guy and will sort you out and he knows his VW's!
  14. The oil filter cap is a 26mm I believe, usually a local motor factors or halfords sell an oil filter socket. I always prefer a socket than a spanner when I can, for some reason they can be quite tight! First time I took mine off I had a 3 foot pole over a T bar!!!
  15. Hang on a minute, you're having problems finding an engine bay harness loom? I found that the easiest to source! If you have 2 fusebox to engine bay looms can you PM me a price for one of them. Best bet is to go on ebay and search for cars breaking or engines being broken and get a picture of the throttle body to confirm. Should only be about £30 tops In fact, email "mat 2.9 vr6 mk2" on edition38, I know he has one. Tell him Dave with the corrado sent you Heres the link to his breaking add, his number is on there http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=427244&st=0&p=4181730&fromsearch=1entry4181730

    front bumper

Just to add, if your wheel arch liners are still in you may need to prize the bumper off of them, you may want to just do this before you start taking the bumper out as its a bit awkward but you can just put you wheel in lock and remove a couple of the little 8mm bolts so it makes life easier.
  17. I'm no electrician and I'm still very much learning electrics (self taught!!!) but I'll give this a go So the relay is clicking? this means we know that the relay has an earth and power from the steering wheel. Have you tested that the wire from the relay to the horn is in 1 piece? Maybe get a long piece of wire from the relay and connect it directly to the horn. If that works you know you have a problem with the wire and you can use a multimeter to try find the problem. I don't know how often a horn brakes but have you connected a 12v feed direct to the horn?
  18. PhilUK aka Phirrip aka that curly haired kid has them. Check out his build thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?36130-Philuk-94-Corrado-VR6-*Brake-Distaster*!!/page13
  19. Ahh right, being a mechanic helps then! Basically the 2.8 and 2.9 OBD1 and OBD2 engines are almost exactly the same in terms of the bolt on items, the MAF and ECU changes through the years so they need to match. Like I said though, take a look at the OBD1 - OBD2 conversion thread and consider the work involved as the conversion whilst removing and refitting an engine as everything you need to change is in the conversion thread and anything not mentioned should just be interchangeable.
  20. Best bet is to check out the obd1 - obd2 conversion thread because it will be exactly the same. Gearbox you can reuse the corrado then you would need to remove all the headlight wiring out the engine loom and swap with the corrado's fusebox - ecu loom. Glad to hear you are keeping a corrado alive, always sad to hear people are breaking one. But yea, its straightforward if you are handy with a spanner. I always like how people talk about engine swaps as if its no big deal and 'straight forward', I've done loads yet I still consider it a big achievement!
  21. Yup, obsolete now sadly. Rang up for some a few weeks ago, think they have 1 left, and thats 1 side not 1 pair!
  22. I know the radiators are different sizes but not sure about the mounts, one thing I always look for to check if its a VR or not is a vertical piece of metal on the left hand side, well the one left of the centre part. On my VR it has a slight kink in it, whereas all the others I have seen are straight. Also see this thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?54325-Random-Slam-panel-spot-the-difference-question I believe this to be non VR What I believe to be a VR slam panel
  23. Haha, cheers pete. They do look good but scrub a lot so I'm looking for some other wheels, want to go slightly thinner. Heres some pictures from a little meet I went to the other day. On another note I managed to rip my 90mm splitter off the other day... on a cats eye, I had no idea what it was I just saw this piece of plastic fly out from behind my car. Thought I'd destroyed my first cats eye. Parked up only to find no splitter. On my way back I took a look for it and found it in 3 pieces :( So now on the lookout for another seeing as the bodyshop threw my original 50mm out!
