Well, unfortunately the bodyshop who sprayed my car has thrown away my 50mm splitter and I managed to rip my spare 90mm splitter clean off, then run over it yesterday so I'm in need of a splitter and thought, meh might as well go for a 90mm. I'd prefer as good a condition as possible but its likely to get damaged anyway so show me what you have and I'll consider it

Have a look here: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_belt_tensioner_pulley_repair.html

I wouldn't use anything other than toad, my mates have had cliffords and its just far too complicated and ends up cocking up soo easily. Had a toad fitted to my daily for about 5 years and it has never once gone wrong, simple to use, fit and forget

When my car got broken into and the ignition barrel smashed, I tried to break the steering lock so I could drive it home and I couldn't do it so its not like it might have worn out! There are plenty of people breaking corrado's with steering columns you could buy, only downside is its a new key job, ie you can't tumble the ignition barrel. Make sure you check whether its adjustable or fixed when looking for one, don't know if theres any difference between early or late. Didn't mean to sound abrupt but I literally go on google and I'll type in exactly what I want and see what comes back "corrado steering column part number" if that doesn't work I punch it into forums directly. Vagcat is good but just ignore all the prices and if you do find the part number you need just double check it is the actual correct part before paying for it or even ordering it.

Your steering lock doesn't work!!?? never heard of that happening before unless mr scumbag robber has been at it. I would imagine you'll be needing either a new ignition barrel or steering column, both of which would scare the crap out of me getting a price from VW. Oh and for part numbers I personally either google it or use vagcat (http://www.vagcat.com), its not working at the moment but you'll need to register

Sorry can't help with the physical setting up of it but I know it can be done because mine is set up to do just that. Although the only problem I have with mine is that if I lock it and then need to get back into my car I have to wait for 20 seconds until its done its locking duration.

Absolutely no point replacing the tie rod, its a straight piece of metal. Only time theres any need in changing them is when they are bent and even then when mine was bent I considered just straightening it. £250... they are absolutely taking the **** now, I understand that you pay for quality but that is just absurd. Just looked AVS where I usually get parts from and the tie rods and ends are £22.50, I very much doubt over the lifespan of the car I would need to change the tie rod 10 times to warrant shelling out £250. The rod ends are £10 for pattern ones, I used pattern on my last corrado and in the 2 years I owned it I didn't have to replace it again.

Haha, not a problem, my list must have been without VAT. Drop me a PM with your payment details and I'll get cash moneys sent across!

It maybe seems a bit steep fla but you gotta consider what they do! If it breaks your car doesn't start, if its knackered it plays havoc with your car, my radio used to turn itself on and off randomly. Worth every penny to fit and forget!

You know what, I'm such an unbelievable retard, for some reason I copy and pasted the wrong bloody side and changed the part number but not description. Its the nearside (left side) I need... bugger. For anyone thats reading I have just changed the title to the right side

£3 if they wern't obselete :(

I was about to say I don't actually mind it, then to go on to say its only the sticker bomb I don't like... and the badboy bonnet... and the audi grill... and the number plate being moved... and the blue wing mirrors... lol If it was smaller camo and less cluttered with rank modifications it would actually look quite cool.

I'm afraid I can't help with wiring 100% as I got an alarm fitter to do mine but heres my theory. On your door handle you have 3 wires, what I believe to be a positive feed and then 1 wire to lock the car and 1 wire to close the car, you can tell which one does which by bridging the wires or have a look at the wiring diagrams. So my theory is, the window closure will be a 10-20 second output through the wire which may be adjustable in time length, what you will have to do is wire this to the 'locking' wire so it will do a similar operation to when you lock the car with the key and keep it in the lock position (closing all the windows, and sunroof if its a late rado). But like I said, thats only a theory!

As per the title I'm after the Near Side Roof Moulding finishing cap - 535 853 720 01C, it attaches to boot hinge just behind the roof strips. Cheers, Dave

Does anyone have any idea of possible cost? I'd like to say I'm interested but I have to check with my budget

Those are standard corrado wheels, not sure if they came as an optional extra (perhaps a BBS pack with the steering wheel), only on storms or something else but I'm betting if he does has a storm it isn't on solitudes anymore. Whats to say some tool hasn't come along and resprayed a storm black? I wouldn't just call him a bull****er, it looks like a lovely car and any prospective buyer should really assess the car not the owner.
-
do elaborate oldskool but yea, I can't believe that's all corrado's are worth. It really scares me as I have put soo much money, time, sweat and tears into mine yet if I ever came to sell it the only way I could get back enough money to warrant letting it go would be in bits.

I'd go on the hunt for the panel with foam bits still in tact, I noticed mine were gone and luckily my mate had recently broken a corrado so I got the full panel!

I'll put my name down as interested, just need to tot up prices first before I'm a definite

Lol, gotta love bodyshop bodges. One of the reasons I told them I'd put mine back together myself. I guess its nice to find a cheap fix, even if it shouldn't have needed to be fixed anyway

Had a bit of a search but couldn't find anything, might not be looking in the right place though, I'm sort of wanting confirmation really. I've done an obd2 conversion and since then my car has been getting quite high oil temps so just trying to get it nice and cool. On my travels I have found that my fan stage 2 doesn't work and neither does my auxillary water pump. I have bridged the connections in the radiator fan and stage 1 comes on but nothing from stage 2. I then checked the wiring to the fan controller and the wires are fine getting there. Stage 3 kicks in fine when I bridge the wires at the black temp sender. Next thing is the auxillary water pump isn't working, I've put a multimeter across the terminals and no voltage at any point yet when I put a 12v signal straight to the pump it spins. Could it be the fan controller that has gone up the spout or is there something else I am missing. I have noticed in the conversion thread about a single yellow plug that needed connecting to another single yellow plug in D/3 via a junction box which I have done but it has literally made no difference whatsoever

Well, I've been putting off sticking some pictures up for long enough and sadly the first weekend I took it out properly the weather was absolutely horrendous. Went to Santa Pod for Big Bang festival, one of my favourite shows of the year, but the weather was shocking and just rained constantly so no drag strip action or anything else. Ended up staying for friday night then clearing off on saturday. Anyhoo, here are a few pictures from the weekend. Bit of a story behind the cars which I think deserves to be told, we have been working around the clock to get them ready, most of all the red golf cabby. If anyone is interested in 'built not bought' stories read on, if not scroll down for pictures! Red Mk1 Golf Cabby Well the red mk1 golf cabby came into our workshop end of january (bare in mind there was 3 of us with full time jobs nothing to do with mechanics, just do it as a hobby). It had been stood for about 5 years, most parts robbed off for other projects etc. No engine or electrics, in fact when we rolled it into the workshop it had 1 wheel bolt in 1 of the wheels. Since then just about everything has been rebuilt or replaced, as well as converting it to run a 2.0 16v abf engine on oem management (loom converted myself). It was started for the first time last weekend and we managed to get it MOT'd and taxed the same week. Just typing it like that doesn't even begin to explain how much hard work we have had to do to get it to this point, so although it doesn't look amazing it was the most amazing feeling getting it to big bang. The Corrado Next we had mine, its had a full respray with various modifications, stripped and prepared mostly by myself and rebuilt by myself as quite frankly I don't trust people working on my car, all I ever see is poor attention to detail and that 'it will be fine' attitude. Whilst I was rebuilding it I decided to replace discs, pads, bearings etc. as well as undersealing the arches. I also sprayed the engine bay in crackle black but havn't had chance to take any photo's. Most of the seals are brand new, I had to bite my lip and order those roof strips, window scraper seals and a new sunroof seal from VW, it was enough to bring a tear to my eye but worth every penny. Sadly the spray shop that did my car threw away my splitter so I was left with the one you see now, so if anyone has one for sale please send me a message. My car got finished this week and through MOT just in time. Black Mk3 Golf Cabby VR6 The story goes, me and my best mate have always had one of those friendships of egging each other on with modifying cars and he had decided to go boring for a while with a 1.6 mk4 golf. I sent him a message with a mk3 golf cabriolet 2.0 8v just saying "get it bought", it was lowered on some quite cool 17" alloys for less than £1k. A few minutes later I got a phone call saying "when are we picking it up". So a few months after driving it around and loving it, the engine was smoking a bit and with me having the corrado VR6 I convinced him to put a VR6 in it which we did in 2 days which included removing the engine from the donor car. Unfortunately that engine turned out to be a duffer so out that came and whilst it was out I managed to convince my mate to convert to OBD2 like me. So about 2 weeks ago it was in, running and back on the road. So all in all, for the past 4 months I've been rebuilding mine, helping rebuild the mk1 cabby and converting it to a 2.0 16v and rebuilding the mk3 golf cabby VR6. Now I've got a month of doing collegework and one hell of a night out after that!!! And here are a few pictures with a couple of redborbet's as well

Today I have been mostly changing a rear abs sensor... bloody 'orrible thing! and tightening handbrake cables, only to find out my handbrake lever is slowly attempting its escape, the bracket has unfortunately cracked so that will need welding up :(

Sorry it's the menu button you need to press, see below http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320

make sure the lock switch is in the unlock position, then lock it and back to unlock then immediately after hold the middle button and I think play button together for about 10 seconds. Its either the play button or the menu button but I forget. That should sort it ;) mine did it and that sorted it
