  1. Okay, whilst we are reminiscing The rest of the photo's are here
  2. End of the day its your car and as much as everyone can comment, your the one looking at it everyday. These are my opinions though
  3. air ride :( No matter how sophisticated an air ride system is i will always imagine a car with air ride to be driven like a wuss and then parked up and shown off. A car like that should have proper rally suspension and driven hard absolutely love the cars though, if only i could afford to buy and run one!
  4. Yes generally mine takes between 5 1/2 to 6 litres, 2 litres is concerning. Just make sure you check your oil more often and check the engine isn't making any tapping noises once you replace the oil
  5. just what the doctor ordered http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 13&t=94672
  6. when creating a new document to inset the carbon fibre weave in, just make it smaller rather than using 1600 x 1200. If that doesn't work once you have a new document with the carbon fibre, right click on it and free transform it and just stretch it or shrink it to size.
  7. looking good! out of interest did you buy a roll of carbon wrap of buy the spoiler/get someone to do it for you? wouldn't mind giving a couple of bits some carbon goodness myself
  8. fingers and snips, why would you need any fancy tools? I just pull the clip as tight as it will go then crush the twiddly bit with some snips, my mate has the proper tool for it but its easy enough to do.
  9. spotted a red one on the A1 i think travelling towards newcastle, think I was near durham in my mates bora going other direction
  10. play noughts and crosses in the panels until its swiss cheese and can be folded like a paper airplane.
  11. I'd have a set of the 16's compo cxn's, although i'd like to stay away from the "those are just wannabe bbs" thoughts. compomotive MO's look amazing on your car from stonor park corozin, you rolled your arches as well. Looks alot lower than the first pic when your car was a different colour
  12. always loved them on ballys car, just doubt i could tuck them as well on a vr6 without proper archwork
  13. I want corozin's wheels, i should really just pm him but anyone know what model they are? If you want a cheap set of speedlines look for old subaru wheels, they are 17" but have a smaller bore so would need machining but if you can get it done for cheap you can pick them up for fairly cheap as well. i nearly bought a set a while ago for £300 with decent tyres.
  14. Lol, i sometimes find myself driving along and then realising i have got some utter garbage song i absolutely hate blasting out through the radio without realising
  15. The anniversary wheels are 18" though. In my opinion just too big for a corrado, will handle awful and sit too high, 17s sit really nice. Bally had his corrado sat sweet with them on but his is a valver so not wide track like the VR's
  16. Stunning car but wheres the rest of the engine
  17. The noise The noise The noise Also love tootling along on my way to work, just before a dual carriageway and theres always some cleverdick in his beemer come flying down the inside round the roundabout, i then smile as i ruin his day by leaving him along the dual carriageway. Always starts the day well! Another perhaps annoying but funny thing i found going up the santa pod strip, watching cars leave you off the line until you get to 2.5-3k and the VR sings as you leave them for dead  And of course that non disappointed face when people ask "is it a VR6"
  18. Was just thinking about this tonight, seen it done a few times and am yet to see a members thread from supercharged despite him being a mod, super mod, admin? :) With me considering buying a house and doing a fair few miles to work it just wouldn't be cost effective to run a VR6 but a diesel rado would be perfect.
  19. I may be getting confused and you will probably know this anyway but are you running mk3 or mk4 brakes as i think they have different offset calipers? I really wouldn't advise spacers unless they are proper hubcentric ones but if you must use spacers get the longer wheel bolts. I had a close call when i used a spacer and upon having a bit of steering wheel wobble discovered that 2 wheel bolts were loose and 1 had come out! I have seen people taking a grinder to the caliper to trim off a little for clearance, not sure how thick the metal is but maybe food for thought
  20. It was a good start to the series, the reliant robin bit was hilarious. And everyone knows its staged but it was extremely funny seeing a reliant robin sliding upside down anyway
  21. Good to hear you've got things sorted, even found time to do a little cosmetic work :) Lol well when i was rebuilding my engine i took the bumper off a few times and just left the metal strip off and while i was waiting for the oil to drain out the sump i thought why not see how it looks. I must be an absolute idiot though, bought one corrado that was a nightmare and broke every 5 minutes, what would any sane person do after that? go buy another one as a non runner and rebuild it. I would have made soo much more money from breaking it but i just couldn't do it! doubt im going to see any of the money i've spent on it back and the amount of got the car for and the amount i've spent i could have just bought a good running one! But i must say the feeling you get when you first start it up after doing all the work yourself is unbeatable
  22. Well my VR has been costing me a small fortune this month, so heres my things i did on saturday -changed front right abs sensor, upon doing this the sensor fell to bits leaving the metal outcasing in the knuckle. What should have been a 5 minute job turned into over an hour having to get the metal casing out that had welded itself in place -put my new sump on having smashed my old one on only the third time i had hit it or scraped it, to say i was annoyed would be an understatement. £100 later and a new sump is on. -upon inspection of abs sensor, i noticed the strange positioning of the ball joint so i went to inspect the other side to see if it was the same to find that the CV boot had killed itself... not good!!! but the ball joint was fine so guess thats one good thing -gave it a service but not happy with the oil i put in so gonna change that again for some fully synthetic stuff once i get paid and try get hold of a mocal oil cooler to keep temps down. -fitted my 90mm splitter, i'll stick some pics up in my members thread but im not too impressed with how it looks so the 50mm is going back on and after all that, the objective of this weekend was to clean it which didn't happen so im not impressed
  23. Seen three this weekend on my way down and around devon. I never see any corrado's and the most unlikely place i could possibly imagine as im walking out my gf's parents house in halwill junction is a highly modified blue corrado, think it was a G60. Gave you a wave as i crossed the road. Next was a dark blue storm in tintagel, bit of a scuff on the front bumper but other than that looked pretty tidy. And a red corrado going the opposite direction stuck in traffic, think it was near birmingham (or somewhere between birmingham and bristol) but it was on friday and my memory is shocking!

    VR6 sump

Well i was urgent for one so i went to VW, over £100+vat for sump and gasket. Think i'll be buying a sump guard next!!!
  25. Bit of a thread resurection here but some advice needed, now im wondering what oil would be best. My car seems to be getting upto 120degrees on a leadfoot run so from what i have read semi synthetic isn't a good choice as apparently they don't do well at those temps and with summer coming i reckon i'll see this temp more often. In winter my VR was running happily at about 94degrees but in warmer weather its about 104degrees. I've been told either 5w40 or 10w40 is best but 5w40 is the only stuff i can get round where i live. If i need to spend the extra money and buy online i will do but for a VR6 at about 140k with an engine rebuild 10k ago is 5w40 a good idea or should i go with 10w40? Its just a standard car with an air filter, uses a small bit of oil over a long period of time but nothing worrying. Cheers
