Ahh right, thats whats got me confused. So is there a big difference in comfort and handling between standard and polybush?
-
AHHHHHHHH HAHAHA!!! belongs in poo power, only in that magazine do people badge cars up with badges off a more powerful car. The total opposite of a sleeper. Although Im not sure why they put a standard corrado with some wheels on the cover, my old corrado was tornado pink as well

Done a quick search but found no real idea's. My car seems to feel really strange at times, when i've been on long journeys its teh worst but i can sway left to right and feel the back end move like around like its detached! Having inspected the bushes they look pretty worn so i was going to replace them. My question is however, im running original wheels and bubble tyres at the moment with KW V1's so have still got comfort but would like to upgrade and I've heard you can use R32 rear bushes but the other option is to polybush it. Im trying to get it handling well but seeing as the roads round here are pretty bumpy i don't want my back broken. Firstly can anyone confirm you can use R32 rear bushes and also what the comparison is like between standard/R32/polybush cheers

I had it pretty bad because my car is lowered quite alot and i found when i was braking quite hard, not even slamming, on the back end was fishtailing. Was highly amusing when i meant to do it, felt like i was drifting but highly unsafe in the event of an emergency brake so i fixed it! Now seems to be spot on, just 288's to do now and i'll have some proper brakes!
-
it wants to be moved further downwards, when you lower it the beam lifts and as such lifts the mechanism. I had the same problem, seems to be alot better now.

You tried stealers? they do occasionally shock you on price, sometimes thing's arn't as expensive as you would think. Other than that try AVS, they might have some. Or alternatively google it http://www.volkswaparts.co.uk/191721555 ... eCable.htm, that of any use? or this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-GOLF- ... 0223834433

mines exactly the same, did you replace the rubber top mounts? I replaced mine thinking i would do it right and it just did exactly the same and i've been through an mot with that.
-
Any chance you have fitted or a previous owner has fitted 288mm brakes on yours? think they need spacing to fit the disc don't they?
-
No, they arn't designed to lower your car more they are designed to work with lowered shocks. They are basically shortened top hats (the caps that you bolt on from the top), now i may be dreaming this up but im sure i've seen them somewhere lol!!! just looking for something like what i've described but think i've briefly scanned over the spring caps and assumed they were to be used as the top caps rather than for the springs. my mistake!
-
you got a picture yet? I think what you mean is that the topcaps arn't sitting flush, if so this was same on both my corrado's. It does mean it drops slightly when you jack it up but it won't come out of place. I think the only way to get around this is to get lowering topcaps but im sure someone may correct me if im wrong

no way! thats awful news, i hope you get it sorted and without too much funds plunged into it! definately a strong word with the previous owner! -
You have to announce it if you are going to be travelling, i need to see and hear it and be cheeky and try and get a ride in it
-
Said it once, i'll say it again. My favourite corrado of all time! glad its gone to someone so passionate about corrado's and will look forward to seeing future updates. One day I will get chance to have a proper look at it! one day! :)
-
have you put the top caps back onto them?
-
It is indeed, hopefully by that time it will have all 4 matching wheels lol. the other side are still silver speedlines!
-
well im extremely embarassed by that garbage photo i put up yesterday so i'll probably take it down once the forum is sorted. buttons all over the place at the moment lol! but heres a better pic.

Id be interested to know who A700 is, got a picture of the car with some schmidts on if its the same one and looks the nuts! was wanting to know the specs on them
-
if they are 5 stud they will be wrong fitment, think they are something like 5x120 so will need adapters but there are plenty of adapters kicking around on ebay and edition at the moment. just find out what the pcd is first! and also make sure the width of the adapters don't make the et too unmanagable

I actually like the bonnet vents, the rear end still hasn't grown on me but i think its a very marmite mod. The bumper looks nice but the boot just doesn't quite look right. White looks stunning and those wheels sit soo well, they look staggered for some reason though!
-
Unfortunately that side appears to have had a respray, well i say appears... has had a respray. you can see the colour change near the rain drain things on the roof. Which is a bit gutting really because i am hating those side strips more and more but i just know the idiot that sprayed it will have left the side strips on and masked around them, its just my luck! The other side i would say is original but it most definately needs a full respray for my standards, but i can tell its going to cost me. I'll end up saying "while your spraying that you might as well smooth that... and while your smoothing that you might as well do that" Will try get some decent pics in the sunshine and once i've lifted the rear a bit, the coilovers settled quite alot and i didn't really have time to sort it out tonight. Hopefully have some wheels soon, if i ever make my mind up!!!

Not much done for a while, nobody seems to be selling the wheels that i want at the moment! So rather than shell out £200+ for a new set of tyres when i was hoping to change them soon anyway, i bought some cheap mk3 golf alloys for now. Had them sat in the garage for a few days and i got bored so i sprayed them and they don't actually look that bad. Although the only problem i have now is that i needed to put one wheel on the car straight away as my tyres were that bald so didn't spray that one, so instead of having odd coloured wheels on one side, i have one side of my car with 2 silver speedlines and the other with 2 black golf alloys lol Anyway I have a list of things to do seeing as the weather is getting better but wheels are a priority! edit: excuse the AWFUL picture quality, i really need to get myself a proper camera!
-
I do love your car jamin! wheels just sit in the arch so nicely, i just know if i bought a set i wouldn't be able to get em to sit that well though.
-
Well the 1.8t will obviously be lighter but the big thing to remember is that the power from the 1.8t is at maximum boost from a turbo, whereas the r32 has power right throught the range so none of this turbo lag. The R32 engine is also suprisingly slightly lighter than the VR6 engine, you could always think about getting a carbon fibre bonnet to lighten the front end up as the standard bonnet weighs an absolute tonne! There was a thread on here somewhere i found with weight comparisons between a few engines, if you do a search you should be able to find it.

The RH's run special adapters/spacers no matter what car they are being fitted to. I think they either come in 4x100 or 5x112 fitment but you can obviously get different adapters for them. If they have come off a mk3 VR6 they should fit as long as he gives you the adapters with them. Jamin has a set on his VR6 and they look stunning!

Yea i've seen this before, and made me absolutely furious. Its those nosey anoraks at it again, nothing better to do and the place they were when i saw them was literally a few metres after the speed limit reduced from 60 to 40. I'd love to just stop and light up the tyres and just sit there at 0mph with a big grin on my face whilst covering them with tyre smoke
