Polo G40 is a much quicker road car, I have a Corrado G60 and the one thing you cant get over is the weight of the beast, it is a pretty car though, comfortable, good handling brakes etc so overall its proably a better package,, but to get back on topic here we are talking about the power these engines put out compared to their CC,, gonna be getting a Polo G40 aswell as my raddo G60 pretty soon...

and do NOT attack that head with a dremel,,, any porting work you would do before having the valve guides replaced and building the head back up,, -

yeap sodium filled to help with heat dissipation from the boosted motor,, its overkill really though in this application,, most big valve heads just use 1 piece stainless steel valves instead,, -

as for the gaskets, so long as you buy an ELRING gasket kit from GSF you will be fine, there other gasket kits however are crap,, -
it is still the tax that is the problem,, say the fuel goes up from the oil companies by 3p a litre,, when your paying however many %tax on top of that due to the percentage being so high thats whey we see such inflation in the fuel costs,,

still seems low power, get it tuned thats 1.8 power 115 at the wheels,, with a 2 ltr you should be getting more

all intermeidiate shafts will have this in out play,, hope your car is ok when you put it back together, the way your going about sorting it out though unfortuneately makes little sense. -

let us know how you get on, i have a big valve head in my room ready for me to bolt on my car once i have decided what cam i`m gonna use,,
-
my mk1 gti lost this screw on a trackday once,, since replacing it I have made a rubber cap that goes over the screw so if it pops out it will not be lost, reason the y fall out is the o rin on them goes brittle with age and does not hold or seal the screw so well,, allowing it to creep out on the threads,, first sign of this is a tickover that keeps on needing to be adjusted as it keeps rising over time,,,

get sns to burn you a chip, the 16v head will use the boost morereadily than an 8v so the engine will need more fuel for less boost than the 8v did so to speak, basically you need a rechip,,
