It's all about risk. If you haven't got ncb it means you've either not been driving under your own policy for long or you've had a claim/claims. If it was you and your own money that had to pay for the claims wouldn't you be circumspect about who you agreed to cover?

These are the changes from the old requirements where we had them on certain models: OLD RULES - 25+ with 12 months' experience of the car or one of similar performance. NEW RULES - 25+ with 6 months' experience. OLD RULES - 25+ with 24 months' experience or 30+ if only 12 months' experience. NEW RULES - 25+ with 12 months' experience. OLD RULES - 30+ with 12 months' experience. NEW RULES - 28+ with 12 months' experience. There's still some way to go but it's good that we at least have these concessions. If you're buying a new MY63 registration car in September and you're considering GAP cover, remember that the dealer's version is often extremely over-priced. If you were expecting an image of a hunky guy or an offer of free chocolate we’re sorry to disappoint. However, you won’t be disappointed with our car insurance quotes even though the EU has ruled that women can no longer receive cheaper rates than men after 21/12/2012. The result is that many insurers are expected to raise premiums for you girls rather than reduce the rates for chaps. As brokers with the flexibility to set our own rates (as long as we keep the overall account in profit) we’ve rarely ever considered gender when quoting anyway. And we won’t be raising our rates just because you’re a woman.
