It looks like the black pipe and thing it screws onto on the metal bit is totally missing. Maybe this is not required on the golf? The hole for it to screw into is there though, and is threaded...

Borrowed a pic from a post by 'licklepulie' (cheers mate), i have put a red circle round the bit in question. It looks different though. I dont see the black bit (in the small circle) at all. p.s. this is on a Golf VR6 highline, i was assuming it was the same but maybe not....

Hi there. Been to look at a VR6 at the weekend and have a small question for you VR6 people. On the left hand side of the engine (looking from the front) next to the airbox, is a metal thingermy bob with an adjuster screw in it... anyone know what this is from my expert technical description :oops: , as it was missing from this car.... If someone puts up a close up photo i could point it out,,, cheers

Was on a track day last week in a Caterham R500. Was kind of strange sitting on the tail of a TVR Tuscan waiting for it to get off the racing line so we could get past!!.... :twisted: If anyone ever gets a chance in a R500 - take it, they are awesome!!! -

on my old gti. Took it in for a squeeking noise. Turned out to be where the exhaust attaches to the back of the engine. I believe there was a ceramic ring or something connecting the 2?? Well, anyway, VW put a load of grease on it which stopped the squeak until the engine warmed up and all burnt off... :roll: -
any ideas on a timescale here?

They say its instantly portable, not sure about bikes... The only bad thing ive ever heard is the comment above from RadoAds.... I guess with these things though, nothing is ever perfect and can be 100% relied upon. Id be up for it !!!!

Indeed there were! Tried to take a video of the turbine powered whatever it was but only managed to get 2 seconds worth of me dropping a pint of lager all over my feet :lol: Ill never underestimate a beetle again after seeing 2 of them getting times in the low 11s at the same time!!!!! :shock:

Hmm, ill have to get the wheel off and check around the caliper at the weekend. Discs and pads arent too old. Im getting the feeling its not a wheel bearing as theres certainly no 'drone' noise...

Hmm, maybe thats not my prob then. I get really loud squeeking from my front right wheel (but not all the time). It goes away when i touch the brakes, so maybe its a caliper or something. Come to think of it if i roll slowly and listen with the window open i can hear a ch ch ch ch sound as if something is rubbing at one point in the wheel rotation....
