you could get some narrow bits of bolsawood and some speaker cloth (like you get on home-audio speakers) and build yourself some new dash grills using the originals as a guide for the shapes you'll need.

It does have that stigma though. i'm not knocking it for how it drives/handles, its an amazing motor, but as alot of lizzies minus points were related to the cars image (too trendy, too boy racer etc) i thought it was worth pointing out that some people do have that view of the boxster...'oh, couldnt afford the 911 then?' type attitude. Its like skoda, dispite the fact that the octiavia RS won great critical acclaim and skoda is now owned by VW/Audi (it is isnt it? ) people still go 'but its a skoda!!'

Theres been alot of talk about the RX8 where i work, i think its going to go the way of the TT turn into a trendy car which to me reduces the desirablity. IMO the s2000 is lovely but dated, it wouldnt suprise me if it was replaced in the next year or so given the release of the RX8 and 350z. I've never rated Boxsters, they have that stigma of a poor-mans 911 but that said it is still a porsche. not very practical but i'd be looking at a lotus elise, fast, fun and not that common. I'd say a skyline, but then that will probably fall into the same catagory as the evo/impreza as being too boy racer. Toyota supra maybe? quick and a bit more practical....

I used to own a mk4 astra, and there was alot of interest on forums in that kit for the coupe, i think there's a company in germany who make something very simular. Not a fan of it on road cars really, it just doesnt look quite right out of the touring car environment!

I drilled the airbox and put in a K&N filter yesterday, very easy to do and sounds awesome, feels more responsive too. I've not done the cold air feed yet, but i'd imagine that makes even more of a difference.

just been and done it, my god! the noise is fantastic, the engines always had a bit of a whistle, the combined with my exhaust and the induction sound..... BWWWARPP WEEEEEE BRRRRRRAP!

K&N panel on the way, and i'm going to drill the airbox, got a full custom exhaust already  not sure about the 50mm inlet, it's more than likely standard, and i did read the thing about the cams, so that looks like it might be the way to go, cheers!

been talking to a mate about tuning and 'stuff' and she asked if i'd thought about 'stage 1' as she had it on a mini, and it was basically an air filter, a new needle for the carb and some manifold gaskets. She said it put the power up by around 10% and was fairly cheap. is this possible on a corrado? if so who does it, what sort of power hikes are likely and how much are they? ta chris (on a power trip ATM!)

nice one mate thanks!

Whats your best piece of advice / modification for the C?
chrishill replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
best 2 mods i've done: lupo wipers and a full respray (cars not pink any more! ) -
I'm going to get myself a replacement panel filter, but i've read loads of post where people have been sent the wrong ones, so does anyone have the right part number for a 1990 1.8 16v? also, i know i've seen this on another post, does anyone have any more info on how to correctly drill the airbox? pictures would be good :D

is the heatsheild really obvious? i dont remember seeing one! can you see it looking down through the engine or would i need to be underneith? its definatly a sort of metal hitting metal sound, hard to describe really, sort of a loud BRR RR RR RR AP! noise. cheers for the tip though mark, deffinalty have a look for that.
