There's no easy answer to this, if you have only a limited budget (and we all realistically have to work to a budget) you will undoubtedly find some cheaper examples out there. However it is very likely they will require some attention and TLC and sadly in the case of Corrados a lengthy list of jobs to do can often cost more than the car, so often the best car you can find may not have the cheapest asking price but may work out far more cost effective. You just have to get a good idea of the likely costs of getting the car sorted before commiting to buy, the costs can soon escalate that is why apparently complete cars are increasingly being broken rather than sold as potential buyers realise the potential outlay and a breaker can bring strong money in sought after parts.

Thanks i'm really hoping so, no real complaints about my FK konigsports but whilst the subframe is off thought i'd take the opportunity to go for the Inox KWs.

Yeh, the subframe has been powdercoated in a satin black finish for an OE look and should hopefully prove durable.

I would be very interested in mats. However I would ideally like a high quality carpet, the carpet that is used to make moulded full carpet sets is good but you could have a heavier superior products for flat, cut mats.

I run BBS 7.5x17 with an ET of 33 and no problems at all. With a 15mm spacer you will be ET 31 so should be fine. The rear will take up to 20mm

Looks a great product, thanks :D Quick question has anyone permanently attached the loom (solder and heat shrink) by either removing the factory headlamp plugs or splitting off down line of them so they could be quicly reattached in the event of relay failure. Any thoughts or experiences welcomed.

Thanks :) I try to keep it tidy but there's always something you need to do to get it a little better, not helped by some of the great work you see on the forum forever raising the bar and giving me expensive ideas. Wheels are going to be refurbed and going back to silver, at least I have some pics of it with the black rims, I can't cover all options.

Are they 5x100, what wheel are they? Between 10-15mm is a safe choice

These are not 5x100 so don't forget to factor in adaptors. They are available in 17" VW specific ET33 5x100 7.5x17, the model is RS 301 and they are elusive and expensive. Other PCD sizes can fit with adaptors depending on the offset

Yeah but is 'Corrado' embroided or stuck on stickers? Its embroided on Could you please confirm these are genuine VW Corrado mats with emroidered logo, if they are could you kindly find out where they are available from and the cost. Thankyou

Bolsters on Corrado Recaro's are different to the more often seen MK2 or Ford style, not sure specific bolsters are available

It wasn't a dig, you must remember I was around the car and watched at various stages whilst it was being built by people who I respected and can call friends. So, I really appreciate the car and everything that went into it but I won't deny at the time my thoughts were whilst all the work was being done was that it deserved an OE style fuel tank arrangement to preserve boot space and the unmodified look together with the retention of the 5 stud VR set up to keep everything looking very stock and unassuming. Then again i'm very conservative and a little anal, those aspects of the car in no way detract from its quality or function its just my opinion and of little worth -

I think he sustained an injury indulging his love of v fast motorcycles and wanted a car to recreate the thrill in a safer format
