  1. Yep was gonna suggest a new one if a s/hand one didn't grab your fancy. The main reason being the improved anti-corrosion coating which is all very shiney and nice looking.

And what on earth is a front 'splitter' anyway? What's it splitting? Logs? nuts? legs?

They were always referred to as 'chin spoilers' back in the day. I really must get with the 21st century....

I think its called that because it will inevitably split!

  2. Alt + F4 is a lot quicker way of forcing the browser to refresh/clear out the cache.

Doesn't that close whatever current program is open??

Congrats Andi, i tip my hat to you.

I was googling a few things i wanted to read up on and you would not believe how many of the useful links pointed to the forum! Its like the internet was useless without it!

    ........................ well almost.

  3. Can you check your other account please- I've pm'd you.

I like it. Still amazed that people are such badge snobs with Skodas. Totally ignorant. They may not be the prettiest cars, but they're awesome value for money and a quality product. Ever driven a vRS? I suspect not.

You're telling me! Im doing my best to persuade the Mrs but she's having none of it, she wants an Audi and not a Skoda..... fool! (In the nicest sense.... she got 1 thing right after all!)

  4. I haven't checked the ECU for faults, how would i go about doing that? I spoke to Dave and he assured me the map was fine and he would have enriched it enough at the top end, so haven't done a power run with the original ECU. I will try it after i change the fuel pumps, this rr time is starting to get expensive!

I didn't personally check the injectors but i assume dave did when he set up the car. I'll do a test when i get a chance. (I assume this is done by getting 4 plastic bottles on the injectors and trying to start the car a few turns and then checking that the bottles are evenly filled?)

I did think about the wiring but it goes into a loom pretty much as soon as it leaves the throttle body. Anyone know of a way to check this? I will try to get it on a diagnostics machine to see if its throwing up any fault codes.

  5. They're brand new bosch injectors and a brand new lambda (well about 1000 miles old now) im going into the garage today to have a quick check over the wiring and any vacuum pipes and them i'll get some new pumps next week.

I thought k-jet injectors were good for about 200 horses?

Thanks for the help, all other suggestions welcome!

  6. Hi all,

I had my valver on the rollers in Norwich at the charity rr day 2 weeks ago and found out it was underfuelling so they didn't push it beyond 5500 revs.

I spoke to Dave (CrazyDave) as i was worried it was the DG map and he said it sounds like its still running closed loop at full throttle. (i.e. its still adjusting from the lambda output, and the WOT switch might not be working)

So i went ahead and changed the throttle body for a known working one, and swapped the metering head for another known working one.

I then had it rollered again (where the new metering head was setup and the throttle body switches were electronically tested and found to be working) and the results were identical, so they were both fine.

I'm going to change both fuel pumps now (they aren't making any bizarre noises).

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Please find power run results attached.

    Thanks,

    Kunaal

  7. I have the same problem at the moment, I discovered that it's under fuelling, I'm in the process of sourcing a new fuel pump but you say you had changed yours. Have you checked the WOT switch is working? It's possibly still running closed loop at full throttle and so not getting enough fuel. I thought this was my problem but it turns out the switch is fine. :(

  8. If you send Kurzy some 2nd hand connectors he'll assemble a plug and play unit for you. That's what i got, only i replaced the fuse box with a waterproof one. What would be ideal is a waterproof box to house all the fuses and relays like the DG one. Anyone know one know of such a product off the shelf?

  9. Late corrado's have wider front arches so can fit wider wheels easier.

VR6's are widetrack and 5 stud, so possibly harder to get your wheel of choice for and much harder to fit wider wheels on.

I have a mongrel with late exterior and early interior, it also has a colour coded badge so im not sure if that was exclusive to early cars.

I'm pretty sure late and early clocks are interchangeable but aren't all 1.8 16v's early, all 2.0 16v's late, all g60's early and all vr6's late? or am i completely wrong?
