  1. Here you go this will help a little. However pics are no longer hosted: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3085588 Matt
  2. Unfortunately after a bit of rust and wheel corrosion has crept in and a few supermarket trollies have done their worst it isnt looking quite as mint now. So plans for future include a respray from roof down in two weeks. New metal plates Fitting some polished OZ Futura's (if I ever finish polishing them!) Leather guy is coming to touch up the passanger seat where my girlfriends jeans left a bit of a scar. Red tint rear lights. Then I need to sort my central locking and at same time will fit some decent component speakers and headunit. Then it is off to my local mechanic Rob to have the gearbox stripped, new final drive, clutch and LSD. Finaly off to Vince at Stealth for 263 Cams and to fit my VSR manifold It should all be happy days after that for a few more years! Hope you likey Matt :salute:
  3. Hey guys Well I have been mooching around this forum for a few years now and realised I havent really shown my car yet LOL so here it is... When I got it 7 years ago the car had done 40k miles and been well looked after (it has now covered 83k). I had to look at a few dogs before I found it but was worth the wait. Almost bought a 968 CS instead cos I couldnt find one. In hindsight I probably would have been better off residual wise  :D But I do still love the VR to bits so all is well. Recently came to a bit of a crossroads though as I have neglected it ever so slightly the last year or so (body wise only) and it needs a bit of work doing to it. Therefore it was either get rid or sort it out properly to how I have always wanted it. As you may have guessed because I am writing this thread I went for the latter. When I got the car it had a few nice details on it already. Full leather Recaro interior with heat etc and it had been Storm badged up. Now I know the purists may hate me for this but I dont mind this too much. As I understand it from the previous owner the car was 'modded' by the supplying dealer prior to sale as they could not get any more Storm models to sell. Therefore they specced the Aqua pearl paint, Recaro interior, ABT suspension, 'carbon' ABT glove box cover and 'carbon' ABT Storm gear stick surround. They then sold the car as Storm spec. They didnt go so far as to put the badge on the back but did supply one for the owner to stick on if they wished (and yes it is on LOL) Unfortunately the 2nd owner took the ABT suspension off as it was too hard, so after I had the car for a few months I got Vince to put some Koni/Eibach kit on. Oh and also a BMC filter and Scorpion exhaust. Here are a few pics of how it looked 20k ago :cuckoo:
  4. Who are the people in the states that do various options of bored/ported, new/recon 2.9 blocks?
  5. For £2800 I reckon I would probably buy a complete car that had just had head/chains done! You have a complete donor car then. Very depressing how cheap Corrado's have become. Worth more as parts than cars :drinking:
  6. LOL So how did you do it then?
  7. Spoiler will go up at speed. However again it only goes up in intervals (sometimes not all the way) and down in intervals. Will check the switch and control box connections this evening though Ta Matt
  8. LOL you made me go out in my lunch hour and try this! :D Didnt make any difference but I had a bl00dy good blast :norty:
  9. Yeah do you have to add resistors or anything? Ta Matt
  10. I would say that isn't too bad considering :)
  11. Nice one m8 keep at it. Companies like this rely on the little guy to just roll over and shut up. The worst thing you can do to them is give them bad feedback in the Audi/VW community. I mean they must have lost over ten fold in revenue compared to the cost of admitting liabilty and sorting your car out free of charge on this forum alone. Don't lay down on this one fella and good luck. Matt
  12. Any idea where it is? That would make sense Thanks Matt
  13. But you can hear the motor working, plus when I stripped it it looked mint. Car has only done 83k. May investigate that though another thing to cross off..
  14. Ok I have put this in a new thread as I cannot find any knowledge on the forum in past posts about how to fix this? Anybody had this or have any ideas on how to fix it? Wait ten seconds or so, then there's a clicking from the tailgate, and pressing the switch again allows the spoiler to go up a bit more Mines just started acting up too. After much messing round getting the g/f to flick the switch while I was round the back end (oo-er) it's doing similar to above. Keeping the button pressed all the time, it'll raise up a centimeter, spoiler motor will click and stop for exactly 5 seconds. Raise another centimeter. Click & stop, and so on until after about 3 weeks it's at full extension. Same on the way down. Took it for a blast, and when I got to raise speed it only lifted a single clicks worth (1 cm). Slowed right down to lowering speed and it stayed there. Had to lower it with the button. All very odd. Not a lubrication issue this, it's as if the motor is running on the intermittent wiper setting. Anyone had similar probs?? Just spent the last 4 hours stripping my spoiler and motor and now I also have the same problem as the above TBH the motor was pretty immaculate and the cables only a bit gummed up. So this was a problem I had before I stripped everything. Thanks Matt Leonard :: CF Enthusiast :: Posts: 283 Joined: Wed Aug 27, 2003 8:11 am Private message

Mines just started acting up too. After much messing round getting the g/f to flick the switch while I was round the back end (oo-er) it's doing similar to above. 16. Must admit I have never really got the more power same fuel used argument, doesnt really compute
  17. Try them on your car! :D Or give us a bit more info ie stud pattern, offset, diameter etc :salute:
  18. Same as mine, done all the checks you have. Going to have a proper look at the drivers door mechanism this weekend and see if anything has broken, become misplaced.
  19. You clearly have not been trying hard enough, seriously. ;) Pile into a corner, do something stupid like stamp on the brakes, and you'll be piling on opposite lock. I've run out of steering rack before now.. Easy to provoke. You don't even need to be going that fast which is nice
  20. When I have less than 1/4 tank and am on my own I can defo feel more of an urgency in acceleration.
  21. Tail out behaviour? What are you doing to it? :nono: Never ever experienced anything close to tail out action from a Corrado. It has pretty good lift off oversteer! And if you brake late and turn in early you can have all sorts of fun! Not quite as good as a 205 Gti but not bad for a big old girl
  22. And at the time you could get a 944 for the same sort of money. Couldnt see too many Sciroccos being sold today if you could get a Cayman for the same money  Chassis cannnot be entirely same as Mk3 surely? I have never experienced a Mk3 exhibit the same sort of tail out behviour as the C???
  23. NIce one ta :) And tomorrow I will mostly be looking at my spoiler motor :?
  24. Do you mind me asking if your door/window rubber seals were expensive? Im not deperate for new ones but would be nice to replace them. Matt :) £33 +vat a side from GPC. When I had my respray I thought they would clean up ok, but by the time they were back on they were badly mis-shapened.[/quote:1voc6y9y] Nice one thanks. So is that just the rubber that sits on the door that the window slides up and down against?
