  1. I think mine has been fitted with a lower temp thermostat and fan switch. My standard water temp is 90' with the oil at 100' which only rises to 106' when I rag it. I've never seen my water temp above 100' and oil has never even reached 110' but to be honest this might not be a good thing because the oil might be reaching maximum operating temperature.
  2. They are th mono wheels probably 16x8
  3. What do you mean you couldn't resist? Please tell me that's not in your rado lol. That would be epic! Does it talk lol?
  4. Here are the pics of the gauge finally fitted to my car, it's quite subtle which is what I was aiming for and I think it fits nicely to an almost oem+ look Sorry about the rubbish quality iPhone pics
  5. Yeah the car tends to turn heads, the bodywork is VERY shiny but is starting to show it's age with stone chips and the mandatory rust on the front arches but I'm saving up to get all of that sorted. I've managed to convince my wife that rather than recon the vr6 engine that it's more sensible to drop in an r32 engine! Happy times
  6. The screen in the vent is a Zada-tech 10 bar oil pressure gauge. I think it's the first one fitted to a Corrado. http://www.zada-tech.com/ The LEDs were relatively easy to fit but the electric window switches were a nightmare!
  7. Have just finished changing all of the LEDs in the switches to red and I'd thought I'd see what you all think
  8. I understand where you are coming from dogger I can honestly say that I never meant to offend anyone. I was just a little shocked by the price that was stated considering the basic cost of raw materials. As far as quality and development costs are concerned I can't see where the issue is, it's not a difficult item to design when using the correct free software available to everyone and the basic Internet skills required of every corrado owner! I am a built not bought individual and I only offered this on here in order to help others as opposed to financial gain, but the demand for this product is more than I could have foreseen and TBH I don't have the time to fulfil the needs of everyone on here. What I plan to do is that once i am happy with my design I will post on the forum with full instructions of how to build your own panel with a list of all the required parts and where to obtain them. Built not Bought!
  9. This is the menu based system amongst other videos on YouTube http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=GB#/watch?v=lcisCLl3LXY
  10. Hi all, I'd thought I'd post about this new company that I have come across. I was recently looking for an oil pressure gauge for my VR6 and had looked at all of the Chav style gauges and I didn't even want a vdo gauge. I have recently undertaken changing all of the LEDs in my car to red ones to match my DDI instruments and to give the interior a more of a mkiv golf look. On one of my extended Internet sessions I came across this: This is the negative red backlit LCD 10 bar oil pressure gauge which I have purchased and have managed to fit the screen in the drivers side central air vent. The kit he supplied me with includes the pressure sender with cable, control box, USB cable and a cable to connect to the screen. I have only purchased the very basic system but this bloke can create bespoke systems with multiple inputs that can be displayed on a larger screen with warning limits that initiate audio warnings. http://www.zada-tech.com/products I will post more picks and videos once I have this up and running.
  11. We'll it looks like i'm going to have to have some made then and it'll be the end of next week before I can get a prototype made. Once that's done i'll get a quote to see how much the pcbs will cost each and put together a price for a complete PCB and anoher price for a blank. As far a doing the switches for other people, I'm planning to write a comprehensive article on how to tackle the colour changes but if people would still like me to carry the changes out for them then i'll look into it then but for now I'm going to concentrate on the PCB Production. I'd like to thank everyone for your feedback and i'll be in touch soon
  12. Yeah guys a green one shouldn't be a problem I'm going to try draw up a design for a pcb this weekend.
  13. Hi all I found this while researching the LED conversion i'm doing on all my switchgear. I'm in the process of attempting to make a replica for my VR6 and was wondering if there would be any interest on here. I'm either going to make a one off or I could potentially get the PCB's made so that people could solder on the LED's that they require. In order to contract out the PCB manufacture I would need at least 10 to be made. If i'm honest I have no idea how much it will cost yet but I know it'll be drastically less than the $170 that this gentleman is asking!! See for yourself http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4492917-FS-Corrado-later-style-HVAC-unit-with-AC-Switch-red-illumination
  14. Hi mate, I was just wondering is you have any idea when the fk konigsports were fitted to the car?

  15. Spent yesterday fitting the Weitec Tx's and all went well, the car is back on the road and feels so much better. Managed to adjust the stance a bit but i'm going to have to make a few adjustments on friday. I'm now toying with the idea of smoothing the number plate recess and relocating the numberplate but it'll hae to be on a different bumper as I'd like to be able to change it back if I don't like it
  16. Yippeee my weitecs have arrived! All I have to do now is clean them up and get them fitted. Probably going to be Monday now tho as I'm taking the family to the btcc this weekend
  17. I thought the same boost monkey and checked everything I could on the engine. Compressions good, no sign of any oil on any of the spark plugs now and no blue smoke on the overrun. The thing is that if something was wrong with the engine it would have been doing it consistently. As soon as I removed the pcv system, the oil loss and blue smoke from the exhaust stopped.
  18. My pcv system was dumping oil into the inlet which was burning off through the engine and then coming out the exhaust as blue smoke! I replaced mine with a simple breather filter and I've not had any blue smoke issues at all. The pcv system is designed to burn off the oily breather gases through the engine rather than release them to atmosphere.
  19. Well the engine is all back together and started first time which was great until I noticed the larger amount of fuel running onto the garage floor. Turns out one of the o-rings on number 6 injector wasn't seated properly!!!!!! So today I've taken the upper inlet manifold off as well as the fuel rail and reseated the o-ring. About 40 minutes later it was all assembled again and the car is running great and with no fuel leaks. All I need now is the new Weitec Tx's so I can get the damn car back on the ground! This is how it looked before with what like hand brushed hammerite in all visible places: This is the bay now I'm in the process of putting together a heatshield and support assembly for the k&n induction kit probably out of sheet titanium I have in the shed left over from when I did a repair on a Merlin Helicopter Engine Firewall a couple of years ago. Just need those new coilovers to arrive so that I can sort the stance out!
  20. Thanks for the advice Steve and I'm going to do just that as they must be worth something. I've just paid for the Weitex TX coilovers which have done about 1000 miles so they should be arriving by wednesday so that I can get the car back on the ground. They have polyurethane top mounts included so the ride is going to be pretty harsh for fast road but I have a feeling that it'll be worth it!
  21. Yeah I think you're all right, there gonna have to go and be replaced but as they were both height and dampening adjustable it's going to be hard to find a cost effective solution as I like to run low and the uprated fixed rate dampers dont seem to cut the mustard.
  22. Cheers steve and I agree with you, i'm eyeing up a set of weitec tx's at the moment that have a done about 1000 miles which should be a drastic improvement, I might clean up the fk's and see if I can get anything for them by replacing that ring as they are fully adjustable and could do somebody for a track day car etc. Gona have to sell my PS3 etc to fund the new suspension.
