Turbo'd R32, Haldexed, DSG'd Corrado. Or a kit car of some kind.
-
I've just got back from a weeks holiday in Italy and one of the first things I did when I got back was to go for quite drive in the Corrado. I was thoroughly enjoying the sound it makes when a bloody TVR Cerbera pulled up alongside me and then floored it. It kind of put the sound of the VR6 into perspective. Still loved the sound though. A strange thing has happened in the last couple of weeks though; I'm starting to notice the little niggling things more and more, things that never used to bother me. And with my wife really wanting a newer GTI I've started getting a bit excited by those. Hmmm I hope this trend doesn't continue.

Wow even Murray won gold over Federer. I live on the Olympic cycling route and there seems to be a real boost to the numbers of cyclists here recently. The route is also lined with people hanging flags out. It's so nice to see us have pride in our country for once.

Can you imagine how Ennis must have felt standing on the podium to the noise around her. At least she looked so happy to have done it.

Horrible story. The little girl must be so scared. Please pass the word around: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-19062560 A little girl of 3 called 999 to say her mum wasn't moving. But the police didn't get the address and are appealing for help. 23 (something court), Leeds. ---------- Post added at 6:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:15 PM ---------- EDIT: Oh bugger, 1 minute after I post it I found out it's a hoax: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-19067822

Yes there are two sizes. The one on mine was the shorter one until I swapped the cat back on.

If VW had put the VSR on it as originally planned then it may have helped too. Completely agree they are average now but if someone buys one for performance and handling compared to a modern car then they are buying into it for the wrong reasons I think. Being average when they are 17 to 20 years after they were made shows how good they would have been back in their hey day.
-
And if they had been worth a lot more then I probably wouldn't have been able to buy one last year. So maybe it's a good thing they are so cheap.

How old are you, and how long have you had your Corrado/Corrado's?

Quite tempted and not sure how I've missed this thread as you're not far from me. My only concerns are the potential damage to the cat longer term (not an issue as I recently added a cat to my spares pile :)), whether de-cokeing will expose other weaknesses in an ageing engine, and whether the benefits are lost after a few months if you don't get it done again.

I guess so. There is a G60 and a VR6 version but that looks due to the different bonnet shape for early and lates. I think I'm likely to try ordering one so I can see for myself the quality and also understand the extra custom costs and hassle involved in shipping. I'll do that before I start a group buy but as there's so much interest I think I'm likely to run one.

No it won't affect my opinion of them. It's not a strange question at all because as I pointed out I have no other experience of coilovers to judge whether they are good or bad. I'm happy with them but if someone said they were crap and much better could be had and that the ride would be massively improved by a different set them I might consider budgeting for something in the future. But not right now. EDIT: Fixed phone predictive text induced typos.

Just sitting here wondering something. When I bought my car it already had AP coilovers on it. I'm quite happy with them but as this is the first car I've ever owned with coilovers I have no idea whether they are good, bad or indifferent. I'm not planning to change them. Just wondering how good/bad they are really. All I know about them is that they are "AP coilovers".

Yesterday I greased the bonnet cable, the bonnet catch and springs and the sunroof. Then it was such a good evening I took it for a loveley summers evening hoon. Perfect :)

There's a freshly rebuilt 16v G60 with 0 miles for sale on E38. Approx £2.5k if I recall but he's open to offers.

Well isn't that the idea of every single number plate ever issued? Surely MU51MAH is closer than MU51EMA?

One of my favourites. I'm also on the lookout for some 17" BBS RX2 splits.

I had a reply back yesterday evening: I asked for a price for them all to be delivered to one location and then I could forward them on from here. That may or may not be the best option. I'm not sure yet. So keep in mind the above price doesn't include onward UK postage and any customs costs. Right now I'm also very busy so will have to think about whether I have time to arrange such a group buy. Also to note: These don't include sticky adhesive so you'd need to find something to glue it on :)

Thank you. Lucky escape there then :thumbleft:

Probably not the right section to post this but it's more likely to be seen here so please forgive me mods... I'm trying to reply to your PM about payment for the battery cover but it's not sending. Also I can't find the original advert on the forum. A quick google search finds what I think is the link to the advert but it's blocked saying I no longer have permission to view it (has it been deleted/moved?) Any idea? I'm reluctant to send payment until it's confirmed that there's nothing wrong with your account. Probably all above board chap and it's just the forum playing up. But hope you don't mind me being careful :)

Bodykit? Not my thing even if it is an R32 one. Turbo? Hmmm. Tempting but the idea here is to try to buy wisely for the future rather than spend money on it :)

Any good to you? http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=460653&pid=4657603&st=0entry4657603 Not mine obviously. R32 Halsey and rear diff.
